    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks for the suggestion. I put a post on there yesterday afternoon and so far zero responses!

    TeslaMate [megathread]

I've tried this and I can't save it as it gives me the same DNS error. I really hate Squarespace! (and Google for selling out!)

    TeslaMate [megathread]

That's pinging correctly to the GCP - I assume that means that my Custom Records should just be called "teslamate" and "grafana" as opposed to the full domain name? Scratch that - just tried to modify the custom record to just teslamate and it gives me an error: Invalid DNS Records Invalid DNS...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Out of interest I've just tested my root domain which was correctly pinging against my GCP IP, but now that's reverted to a Squarespace 198 IP as well. FFS!!! This is what I have setup (from yesterday afternoon)......

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks all. teslamate.mydomain.com and grafana.mydomain.com are both still pinging to the Squarespace IP. When I've made the other A record changes it's taken the full 72 hours for them to switch over, so will have to wait and see.....

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks - I'd assumed (wrongly it seems!) that I could only have 1 A record and the others needed to be CNAME's, and it wouldn't let me put a CNAME the "correct" way around, hence trying it backwards! I've now removed that reverse one and added teslamate.mydomain.com and grafana.mydomain.com as...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks for the reply. I've removed those 2 entries from the Nameserver Registration and tried to add to the Custom Records, but it will only let me add one...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks for the response. Everything was working fine for over 3 years until my domain was (forcibly!) migrated from Google Domains to Squarespace. The DNS Check is showing 2 x A records - the 198 address is a cloudspace one and the 35 address is the "correct" address for my GCP server. Both...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Looking at the advanced installation instructions and my install, I'm prety sure I configured it with let's encrypt when I originally set it up. It definitely something weird with routing, as I've just setup a local instance of TM on one of my internal devices and restored a backup on my...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Turns out with Squarespace you have the use @ or it won't work. Finally got that sorted on Saturday and this afternoon the DNS is now correctly pointing to my GCP instance. The issue is that I'm just getting a "404 page not found" when accessing my domain. All of the services on the GCP seem...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Another quick q - for my A record, should I have the host of that as mydomain.com or should it just be @ ?
  12. B

    TeslaMate [megathread]

It's coming back with a 198.49.23.x IP which is a squarespace one. I think I may have to just wait a couple of days for the DNS propagations to go through everywhere and see what state it's in then? So much for Googles "seamless" transition! I believe I'm also going to need to setup an SSL...
  13. B

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Yes - that matches. The only thing that has changed is my domain having been migrated from Google Domains to Squarespace (as google domains are closing). Nothing has changed on the server itself, it has been running fine (connected to the same domain) for over 3 years until this forced migration.
  14. B

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Additonally, I've now changed the DNS settings in squarespace to wipe out the default CNAME entry and add one with host "www", type = CNAME and data="testamate.mydomain.com", and added Host="mydomain.com", type=A and Data=ipaddress (no quotes in the actual entries). This is at least now taking...

When I try to access it via https://ip I get a cert issue, and if I click proceed I then just get a page displaying "404 page not found".

    TeslaMate [megathread]

My GCP hosted TM instance domain migrated from Google Domains to Squarespace a few days ago and ever since them I'm unable to access my site. I just get a squarespace default landing page after an error about certs. I've raise a support request with Squarespace, but not heard anything from...

    S3XY Knob Deliveries

I'd love to see some real-world data on the economy savings of disabling either the front or rear motor on a long motorway run!

Upgrade to Bullseye was relatively seamless - will leave it for the next couple of years now and worry about Bookworm if I still have a Tesla at that point!
  19. B

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Buster goes out of LTS in June this year, so I think moving to Bullseye is needed - then forget about it for the next couple of years!

    TeslaMate [megathread]

I thought I'd captured them all (sources.list and the various files in sources.list.d folder), but maybe not. When I get the time I might upgrade from 10 to 12 so I'm completely current (might even go 10 -> 11 -> 12).

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Th Thanks - I've successfully upgraded to Debian 10 (buster) - clearly going from 9 to 12 (I'd used the same process and it failed badly!) was too much for it. I've also updated TM to 28.5 too and that's working fine.

So how did you do the upgrade with the Debian 9 sources having been deprecated? This is what I get when I try the upgrade... myinstance@tm-f1-micro:~$ sudo apt update Hit:1 http://packages.cloud.google.com/apt cloud-sdk-stretch InRelease Hit:2 http://packages.cloud.google.com/apt...

Just seen this reponse after posting my latest update - seems this is exactly the issue I'm now facing. Looks like I'm going to have to create a new Debian12 disk when I get the chance.

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks. I've reverted to 25.3 (25.4 had the same issue) and working fine, but I'd like to get the upgrade working. The issue is a bunch of errors when I even try to do the apt update... myinstance@tm-f1-micro:~$ sudo apt update Hit:1 http://packages.cloud.google.com/apt cloud-sdk-stretch...

I've just upgraded to TeslaMate v1.28.5 (from .2 I think!) and now the TeslaMate dock is constantly restarting. Just checked and I'm running docker 19 on Debian 9 (see below), so looks like I need to upgrade docker to v22? I've already done an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, but it's not...

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks for the reply init6 - I spotted it was a space issue - / had run out! /var/cache/apt/archives was the culprit - had built-up to over 13G over the last 3 years. Ran sudo apt-get clean to sort and gave it a reboot - came up straight away.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Same for me last night on a round trip to pick up my In-Laws for Christmas. Absolutely brilliant bonus feature! I bought it originally to disable wipers when AP is on (as I get a LOT of phantom dry wipes), but the evolution of the product is fantastic.

Auto Wipers Triggered by Specific Types of Street Lights

Voice controls are all well and good, but since Tesla implemented the change to force auto-wipers on when TACC/AP is enabled, you have to disable TACC if you encouter the issue or put up with constant dry wipes!

Auto Wipers Triggered by Specific Types of Street Lights

I have zero confidence in Tesla reacting favourably, so didn't bother and went down the S3XY buttons route as the alternative was getting rid of the car as I'm not paying £50k for a car that I can't even use cruise control on the mororway in....

Auto Wipers Triggered by Specific Types of Street Lights

I have the exact same issue on sections of the M62 - happens every single time I am in that same area when the lights are on. I ended up getting some S3XY Buttons so I can continue to use AP but disable the wipers.

TESLAA - Android Auto for Tesla App

Any updates on this? I think the issue may be related to Andriod 14, as TESLAA was working perfectly for the last 18 months, and then immediately after my phone (Samsung S23 Ultra) did it's OneUI 6 (aka Android 14) update a couple of days ago TESLAA is basically unusable due to the...

    So… Highland is out…

I'm very much in this camp - as long as the efficiency is at least OK, my massive priority is usable range. It's not about being able to do 600 miles without stopping, it's the flexibility to go wherever you need whever you need and not need to be obsessed and spend hoursd beforehand and be...

    S3XY knob anyone?

I ordered the knob at the pre-order price having been a user of the buttons since the back end of last year. I bought the buttons for one single feature - disabling auto-wipers when AP is enabled! It works seamlessly and perfectly for this and for the other functions I've assigned (e.g...

Best Rear Mounted Bike Rack? ( no tow bar )

Well not all, because the rack does sit against the glass, but it's all good and nothing to worry about.

Best Rear Mounted Bike Rack? ( no tow bar )

The official roof bars from Tesla are very robust, and most of the pressure is on the metal parts as opposed to the glass. I regularly transport a 25kg e-mountain bike on mine without issue.

    Turning off traffic aware cruise

On the wipers front I would highly recommend S3XY Buttons, as you can set a simple button click to turn off the wipers when AP is enabled. I was on the verge of getting rid of the car due to the constant "phantom" wiping meaning I couldn't use TACC (never mind AP) when streetlights were on...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

For those fellow Ohme owners - a heads-up that as from today the Ohme app should give you a notification on your phone of your designated charging window(s) shortly after you plug the car in. I got mine in under 30 seconds just now.

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Thanks for the info. With mine seemingly just charging straight away whatever time of day I plug in I've been paranoid enough to just set it to schedule charge from 23:30. I do a lot less miles that I used to these days, so I'm not in need of every second of available charge time.

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Thanks - if you could report back the results of that assumption it would be appreciated. I'm considering leaving the toggle on as an abundance of caution, and theoretically it should work fine anyway as IO and Ohme should know if I'm on an off peak window at any time so should not prevent the...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Thanks. I'd looked there and I got a charge yesterday evening at about 7PM for about 40 mins to get me to my target, and this seemed a bit weird to say the least, hence the question! In terms of settings in Ohme, I've got a single charge schedule set for every day, 97% target, departure time...

I've just switched over from Go Faster to IO this afternoon as my Go Faster fixed rate expires tomorrow. I have an Ohme Home Pro charger, so from what I uinderstand it's quite a different experience to most of you guys as IO talks to the charger as opposed to the car. I've gone through the...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Going to switch from Go Faster to IO tomorrow when my current fixed rate expires. It's going to be a massive overall increase for me as Octopus messed up at my renewal last year and didn't inform me in time, so I got to stick with the previous years rates which were 25p standing charge, 12.93p...
