Stopped by today, January 10, 2023, don’t see a transformer around, usually they’re quite close by to the charging cabinets. The station is complete, including giant solar canopy and well fitted white hoods on all the superchargers.

Looking at the LA metro area this is the only charger west of I-405 and not of I-10! Compared to the region west of I-405 need to increase by 10-20x to match then increase another 20x and spread them out.

Tom on today's Talking Tesla show recording session said this site is nearly done. Looking forward to updates...

Now that the Santa Monica Supercharger (east-side Santa Monica Blvd. at 15th) is up and running, this supercharger site is next to be built, by the same team. They were waiting for construction the signage/billboard to be completed. Expect construction to begin within a week.

Construction eminent per member of the supercharger construction team, waiting on final word from the owner of the property.

No diner, 😞. The other half of the supercharger installation will have bathrooms and maybe some vending machines. We’ll have to wait until mid-summer 2022, the second half of the installation will take considerably longer because of building retrofit, solar panels, and battery packs.

Site is all lined up, plugs hot during dress rehearsal today (2/17/2022), signage being installed… Looking forward to the West Lot beginning construction.

Update: May go live as early as tomorrow 2/18, “ no later than Monday” (2/21/22) Per Tesla supervisor on site.

Fences down, light poles up, laying down asphalt down today. Four electricians on site finishing the 26-plugs/bollards on the east side of this 62-stall supercharger. Operation is eminent.

The transformer is typically away from the Tesla cabinets/enclosure. Needs to be accessible by the utility. Transformer can be 50, 100 or more feet away, mounted on a 8 ft.² concrete pad.

Unless Tesla has a plan to somehow block supercharger stalls to be used for dealer cars/test drives. And they don’t want owners to become accustomed to using/filling the stalls.

The contractor/installer is on site today, finishing off the fourth level two plugs, he’s unsure as to when the project will be completed. Certainly would’ve been nice to have this thing open while the Tesla Owners Club 2018 Leadership Summit was in session.
