    Navigation without cellular reception?

Compared to Here WeGo, Google maps is a POS in our Tesla Y. Without even going into the mountains, Google routes us to strange locations. Clearly Tesla is being paid by Google. Why can't Tesla allow us to overlay the screen from our phones onto the display? Tesla's display is really primitive...

    Tsportline 19 x 8.5 Wheels on the Y

OK, I'm convinced that these wheels will work fine on my Model Y but how about these tires? I'm looking for taller and narrower ice tires. Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 235/65R19

    Snippiness 2.0

You arrogance is exceeded only by your ignorance. Your response is complete BS.

After 3 months and a couple days with a Y

The assessments are in 3 categories: Dangerous, i.e. it tried to kills us Totally boneheaded Poor Dangerous: tried to kill us 8 times the first 6 attempts - seat heater an update during the week of Dec 20th turned the heated seat control until emergency braking. We drove out with the heated...

    Calibrate computer for taller tires?

Thanks for all the useful information. I guess I'll just accept that the Model Y is a cute-ute and not a suv. Wasn't planning on serious off-roading, just wanting to have enough ground clearance for the kind of rutted dirt roads we run into in the west. So this means keeping the MB ML430 for...

    Calibrate computer for taller tires?

If I install tires that are about 40mm taller, the speedometer and odometer are now going to read low. The computer systems make decisions based on the standard tire height / revolutions per mile. So after installing taller tires, is there any way to recalibrate the system for the different...

    Speed calibration (speedometer)

Question still not answered. Allow me to ask it a different way. If I install tires that are about 40mm taller, the speedometer and odometer are now going to read low. The computer systems make decisions based on the standard tire height / revolutions per mile. So after installing taller...

    Necessary charging accessories.

Thanks to everyone for the great info. A recommendation from a Model S owner (not me of course) is to use the PlugShare app. He said that except on a trip, he never pays to charge. However in our area, I've noticed a significant decrease in the number of free charging locations. Aside...

Front License Plate for Model Y

Will the factory front plate holder stick to a clear bra?

    WARNING: Gorilla Wheel Locks...

McGard (not McGuard) does not list any wheel locks for 2020 Teslas, for 2019 they support the 3, S, X. I checked yesterday at McGard.com. I've used McGard for 40+ years on many vehicles with the benefit that they sell extra keys. While rare, keys do break. So I always carry 2 keys in the car and...

    Electric Lawnmowers

Ryobi has very good cordless riding and push electric lawnmowers. I'm on my 3rd year with a rider. While it has deep cycle AGM lead-acid batteries, they are still at 100% and I've been mowing 2 acres. There is a commercial LiOn based mower but when I last checked, it was over $20 without a mower...

Wheel locks with 2 extra keys wanted

As I said, McGard doesn't offer Tesla wheel locks otherwise that would be an easy solution.

Wheel locks with 2 extra keys wanted

While extremely rare, keys do break. So I always carry 2 keys in the car and another at home on my work bench. But I cannot find any place that sells the keys. I've used McGard locks for years but they don't offer the locks for Tesla. I've contacted Tesla but not heard back yet. -Bill

Bridgestone Blizzak 255/60R19 for model Y

Thanks, my error. This thread does confirm that taller tires are not possible on the AWD-Y without some extensive modification. The wheel offset would have to be increased which then causes problems with the fenders. The lift kit could mitigate that (perhaps) but now so many changes have been...

Referred to that in my last entry. Doesn't help.

Bridgestone Blizzak 255/60R19 for model Y

You might check this out. Won't work for me since combining the lift with the larger tires would make it difficult for my wife to climb into the car. Still I might just look into the lift kit later. However something not mentioned in articles regarding lift kits is that they only partially...

Bridgestone Blizzak 255/60R19 for model Y

More research indicates that neither a taller nor a wider tire will clear the front suspension components. There is only about 1" of clearance. So I need another option, perhaps a suspension lift.

Bridgestone Blizzak 255/60R19 for model Y

I could use significantly more ground clearance and this tire increases it from 6.6" to 8.3". But when I stick my hand between the stock tire and the suspension, it seems that the tire will hit. Does anyone know for sure? An alternative is the 235/65R19 with the same ground clearance...
