    Tesla VS Taycan

The price argment reminds me of Corvette vs 911 discussions. The taycan is made in Zuffenhausen, Porsche's major factory. The workers there are highly paid. There is a lot of craftmanship going into these cars, just look at the options list. You can specify every taycan to your personal wish...

Porsche Taycan Vs Tesla Model S: Review, Road Test, Race, Charging

The Taycan Turbo S has actually done low 10s in internal Porsche testing.

    Taycan Takedown

I did own both a Model S and a Model 3 and I could argue that both are totally overpriced. Why? Quality. Look at the taycan in detail and the number of options you can choose. This is something entirely different and it is not gonna change through some software updates. All this fancy youtube...

    Taycan Takedown

Guys, look at the trap speeds. The Taycan is at 131mph, that‘s at least 5mph faster than any P100D I have seen to date. Therefore the Taycan Turbo S should pull several car lengths at higher speeds. Of course the Taycan will do that all over again instead of the preheated one trick pony Model...

    Porsche Taycan vs Model S

Looking forward to more videos. I think the taycan turbo s will do sub 10s in the quarter. As ever, Porsche performance numbers are super conservative.

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Where did you read that it’s bridge to gantry and not a full lap?

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

I think you will see big improvements on future Tesla chassis setups if they continue to test on the Ring. It‘s not about a big balls contest. The Ring is unique. Every part of the car and the driver is tested to the max. In the end, a car which behaves well at the Nordschleife is better on...

Yes it is, Speed seems to be pretty similar.

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

The Laguna Seca laptime of the Model S Plaid is about 1s faster than a Cayman GT4 which laps the Ring in 7:40. Indeed there is a very real chance of beating the Taycan's 7:42 with this prototype, which has obviously not a lot in common with the current Model S on sale. It will be interesting to...

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Well yes downforce is important on the Nordschleife, front and rear. If you add downforce only at the rear you will notice understeer through Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz, Kesselchen, Klostertal, etc.....you name it. Furthermore, diffusors are not really working that well because the track is too...

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

That lap was done by the german magazine Sport Auto on standard tires. You cannot compare Laguna to the Ring. The main straight Döttinger Höhe is 2.6km long and it‘s uphill right to the Antoniusbuche corner. You reach 300kph in a powerful car there and you can go flat out through the corner...

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

This is not exactly true. The Cup2R tire is very different to the standard Cup2. Honestly, putting the Model S on the Nurburgring is ridiculous. Everyone knows that it's a poor track car far worse than the Model 3. At least obviously Porsche had success in getting Musk and his fanboys attention.

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

I know, They will have to modify everything just to make a single lap.
  14. R

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Haha, very funny. The modified Model S seems to wear Michelin Cup 2 R tires. This is a super sticky compound. It has nothing to do with the stock car. This is the most pathetic Nürburgring attempt I have ever seen.
  15. R

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

The Ring is different to other circuits. You just can‘t go there and set a record out of the box. Porsche does hundreds and hundreds of laps before making that final attempt. Everything has to be perfect, driver, car, conditions. If you have never been to this track before you have no idea how...
  16. R

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

The Taycan has done the lap on stock tires. If Musk tries to cheat with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires or other mods Porsche will come back and crush the Model S laptime. The Taycan is in a different league to the Model S which is 7 years old now.
  17. R

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

I agree on that. Model 3 Performance should be close to the Taycan Turbo S on the track even over a longer period. Model S P100D Raven? I don‘t think so. One comment on the Suspension: I don‘t think the Model S air suspension will work on this track. It‘s just not designed for that. The Model...

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Misha on Instagram: “Trust @elonrmuskk , he is an engineer. #diy #tesla #nurburgring #nordschleife #beatthetaycan?” The car has been spotted. Obviously cheating, just look at the tires.

Model S to the Nürburgring Next Week!

Interesting. I live in germany, I have done a few hundred laps on the ring. I have also tried both Model S and Model 3 P there just for fun during Touristenfahrten. The Model 3 was actually quite impressive, it could do a 8:00. The Model S P85D overheated after 3 corners. If he wants to attack...

Porsche Taycan - Tesla Rival Seen Today

Funny comments here. The Taycan will be the premium EV to beat. In terms of performance it will crush a Model S P Ludicrous on every level. If you believe otherwise you don't know anything about Porsche. They don't make a car just to be in the market.

Top Gear Magazine: Model 3 Performance is faster around a track than the BMW M3!

I own a Model 3 P and a BMW M2 Competition along with various other Performance Cars. The Tesla does offer superior traction and acceleration up to app. 130 kph. The BMW has way better brakes, slightly higher cornering speeds and it pulls harder above 200 kph. Therefore I think it depends on...

Nordschleife BTG lap, Model 3 Performance

I have done a few hundred laps on the Nordschleife. Not in a game but in reality. In fact I also took my old Model S P85D to that track. I honestly think that this video tells you nothing about the car's potential, it's just a cruising lap. The track can get very difficult if you get within...

High speed braking instability - ABS/ESP bug?

Yes, Spoiler ist mandatory for 250kph. Without the spoiler it is limited to 233kph.
  24. R

High speed braking instability - ABS/ESP bug?

There are no issues with lift and downforce. The car is stable under throttle but ABS kicks in too early under braking in fast corners. Therefore your braking distance is lengthened. I think the car has never been tested properly at these speeds. We are talking about 250kph corners...

High speed braking instability - ABS/ESP bug?

Hello, I drive a Model 3 Performance here in Germany. Car is limited at 250kph. I can confirm the bug. Through fast corners at speed above 200 kph the ABS Systems seems to overreact, creating instability. Best way to avoid is to brake very gently or go slower. Track Mode does make no...

Devils advocating...from someone who shorted TSLA

I did make much more money on Tesla with my longs. On the short side I was wrong most of time. Still, time will come. My decision to cover the short was mainly because of the reservations numbers growing and growing. I couldn't expect demand being so high. It's not going to change my...

Devils advocating...from someone who shorted TSLA

To me the Model S turned out to be meaningless. I was much slower over long trips than in my regular car. The power claims were totally misleading. In reality it couldn't hold a candle to the i8. From an objective point of view apart from 0 to 60 the Model S is inferior to almost any other...

Well thank you. I believe many people want to take part in something big, special. Just buy an electric car and show everyone how green and forward thinking you are. Showing the world “change”. Being part of the movement. It’s not that simple I think.

I had Tesla shares for quite some time. I have to say that earnings have been a huge dissapointment. This is still a cash burner and I see no reason for Model 3 to change that. So what's next? This is all we have been waiting for. There is no catalyst no buzz anymore. Model 3 is here in a...

Hi there! :) I believe this is the perfect time to short again. The stock has gone up by 70% in one month because of Model 3. No matter what we will see today chances are high the stock will fall sharply. We could even see prices below 100 again in a few months from now. I think with...

Will the P85D's top speed be changed to 155 mph?

I pushed hard yesterday night and saw the 217kph limiter for the very first time. The car won't allow more than 120kw than. It took me about 7km full throttle to see the Speed Limit. With full power the P85D still pulls away from a 306hp Audi A6 TDI above 200kph. This is respectable perfomance.
  43. R

Will the P85D's top speed be changed to 155 mph?

No the P85D limits it’s power but I haven’t seen a limit on the car’s top speed yet. It can go 250 kph even with the 240kw limit on and it can stay there for quite some time. I pulled away from a brand new Audi Q7 TDI yesterday easily. Remember the Tesla’s cw is 0,24.

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

The electric motors are the limiting factor to performance, not the battery. Electric motors can produce very high peak kw for a short period. Since the Tesla uses a coaxial cooling system there should be a significant negative effect on sustainable kw output when ambient temperatures get higher.
  45. R

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Wrong. The Tesla's cooling system works with a heat exchanger. Basically the same as in an ICE and ambient temperature certainly has an effect on the fluid. You obviously don't understand the technology and principles behind it. Furthermore any manufacturer can claim "motor" hp which is very...

  47. R

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Actually many owners of the new M3 are complaining that the car is basically a tuned 335i. It is not. However, in the old days BMW M cars had there own engine lines. That's gone. Anyway every car manufacturer charges horrendous money for software upgrade or very minor different hardware. Porsche...

    P85D going 155 mph / 250 km/h with newest .153 Firmware (Video)

Should be the heat. Once this metals got too hot they need some time to cool down. We are taking about an electric motor here you cannot put that cool fluid where you really want it to be like in an ICE.
  49. R

    P85D going 155 mph / 250 km/h with newest .153 Firmware (Video)

It's a lot faster at higher SoC. The electric motors however seem to overheat dramatically than and energy consumption suffers as well. I think efficiency levels are also plummeting with the motors being too hot. If the car shows you that 240kw power limit your losing range fast even at slower...

    Software update!!

Before power cap kicks in it's ok. It just keeps on going after 210kph. With 240kw power limit it takes some time.
