No. I know it’s the upper left corner of the door panel. When it warms up I’m gonna take off the panel and add more dept tape. When the outside temps are warmer and hence the car is hotter the noise subsides considerably so I’m hoping felt taping the crap out of everything will help.

Mine looks the same. I ended up getting partial PPF with PPF on the lower part of both doors. They buffed out the roughness in the clear coat in that area and touched up some of the larger spots before putting on the PPF. His paint guy said it would cost around $800 to repaint both doors so I...

I’m jealous. At this point I think my options are to leave it alone expecting it to get worse and more noticeable, try and have paint correction done and PPF or totally repaint the door and add PPF. The latter being probably to expensive right now.

This morning I went to the Tesla store (STL) to get the 411 on my order and they had this baby out front. Apparently the poor chap who ordered this had his loan fall through. I ponied up the extra dough (I had on order the base model) and here we are. I LOVE THIS CAR!

VINs are not sequential and depend on the color and other options.

I’d be curious to know when you see your MVPA appear. My car was built on 9/12 and on Monday I called and got the VIN. The estimated delivery date to the SC is 9/25. I’ve received no delivery text or MVPA. Maybe all that will happen when it ships in the next few days? No rhyme or reason.

This means you have a car assigned to you that has been built. It’s likely getting ready to ship and around that time you should get a text message to schedule pick up. Call your service center nearest to your house and they can give you more specific information.

They send out hot mess cars all the time for delivery so the issues with the one you were unassigned from must have been major. Hopefully they will find you one. There has got to be inventory floating around the country.

I have the same order but on 8/24 and in St Louis. I am also having a similar customer service experience. No VIN for me yet.

Same here in Missouri. It’s maddening. I asked about the demo at my local store and the advisor told me to pass on it. To much damage and not enough of a discount.

Ordered 8/24 from Missouri and yesterday my “estimated delivery” section went from a dash to saying “3-5 weeks from order date placed”. I still have no VIN.

What concerns me is that most of the people who comment about getting VINs are still on the east coast. How are they going to work to the west coast with so little time left? I wish there was more transparency.

Sounds like when you made a change they put you back at the end of the line. At least a lot of people say that is what happens.

I was never contacted by anyone at the store. I called them and I asked the guy that answered if he’d be my advisor for the order and he emailed me his contact info.

Not for the Y at least. Elon has said Giga China and Germany will be making their own Model Y’s. Freemont will not be exporting them to foreign markets. Now for all I know they could be pausing the Y lines to produce other Models that they do export.

I’m curious what is causing the delays if they aren’t shipping them overseas. Is the line(s) they make them on being shut down? I wonder if the same thing happened at the end of quarter 2?

That’s true for other models but currently the Y has only been released in the North American market.

It’s a Model Y thing. I ordered a Model 3 in mid July and it had 4-8 weeks there. It never changed despite the texts I received updating me of the delivery date.

I cancelled my 3 order and ordered a Y on Monday. 3-5 week estimate like you. My order page though has a dash where the estimate should be. What about you?

So strange. I was told 2.49 was the floor. I saw ppl getting lower rates with chase so asked about that and was told Chase doesn’t do auto loan underwriting in Missouri.

Interesting. I’m in MO so one of the states where you need a VIN. I uploaded my current policy so I guess we’ll see if it speeds things up. I guess worst case someone contacts me and says it won’t work until I get a VIN.

Yes. Someone on a Facebook group I’m in got a text about delivery and VIN today (8/15).

My status has said that since I applied for financing. Now I’m just paying the waiting game to be assigned a VIN.

I just got the 4-7 week text. This after already waiting 4 weeks.

I called my local Tesla location and asked the associate that answered if he’d be my contact point. He said yes and send me an email with his info. He didn’t seem to have any inside info about my order so I doubt I’ll reach out to him again.
