Dirt roads = car full of dust

This happens to my car, all kinds of dust gets into the door jam and starts to get into the car. I even have a secondary seal / noise reduction kit. Does nothing apparently.

XPEL Paint Protection Film, Ceramic Coating and Tint

This is a much better job done than I had on mine for the full front for $1750. They didn't really even cover all of the panel edges because they used a plotter-cut template that seemed slightly undersized.

    Warning about accepting delivery

I did not have to do this, the app worked before I accepted delivery. I was able to see the inside of the car and do a full inspection beforehand.

    New icon

Yes, I noticed that new Speaker/Volume icon and I have no idea what its for. Only pops up occasionally for me, I haven’t really noticed when.

Tesla Customer Service ...... IS HORRIBLE

Update: texts to the SC seem to go to /dev/null, however after calling them once or twice a day for a status update, they got the car back to me on Friday afternoon. The fixed the tail light, claimed they inspected the door and re-sealed the connector, and addressed a rattle in the rear seat...

Tesla Customer Service ...... IS HORRIBLE

I had an issue with my Model Y’s door thinking it was open on Saturday, obviously no service then, so called and got an appointment for Weds Afternoon at a more remote SC (~30min away), the other 2 locations only had appointments almost a month out. They did not tell me in advance how long they...

My new Model Y’s range is great!

Googling around, it looks like sorta kinda?

    Model Y battery shield

I’m more worried about bottoming out - which i’ve already done (hitting the plastic on the front) thanks to big unavoidable potholes on National Forest roads. I have seen 2 or 3 posts here with people seeing damage to their battery-adjacent components (cooling lines, connectors, etc) from road...

My new Model Y’s range is great!

The full battery is 77.5kWh (3-3.5kWh buffer), so that puts your rated at 245Wh/mi if you were to drain the buffer (if the BMS allows it?). In the real world: Driving for 315mi @ 65mph would take ~5 hours - Base load: ~350W -> 1.75kWh - HVAC load: ~1.2kW -> 6kWh Leaves you with around 66kWh...

    Model Y battery shield

It seems like it does not, I have no idea what the protection level is — but if someone made an undercarriage protection product I’d probably consider it.

    Door leaks, stuck "open"

This just happened to me after rain and washing at home. Jiggling the door connector temporarily fixed the issue. Currently at the SC for repair of this issue. Also back passenger window here.

My new Model Y’s range is great!

I’m averaging 285Wh/mi over 2500 miles, with a few trips through Stevens Pass, and a road trip to Montana going through 20,000ft of elevation change (Stevens Pass, 4th of July Pass, Lookout Pass, etc) and 70-80Mph speed limits, usually traveling +5-10%.

Tire & ground clearance on LR vs Performance

Yep, ask your SC. They had a few in stock and I bought one 2 weeks ago (and got it in 2 days). They don't show up on the website.

    Price of Supercharging

The 1000mi supercharging credit is actually 400kWh, which with the Model Y's rated range is about 1625 miles. Valued at $120 for my areas V3 Superchargers @ $0.30/kWh. In actual usage, I spent 321kWh to do a 1150mi road trip, about 280Wh/mi. I added 300kWh via Superchargers, and spent $82.38...

    Amazon uploads

Yea, the Tesla control plane lives in AWS. They use NLB and ELB quite a bit for a service called Hermes, and the car will upload data to S3 fairly regularly (likely when they task the fleet with data collection). There's a Go (lang) service in the car that makes a .tar of images, videos, and CAN...
