Integration with Google Home / Google Assistant - Now available for general use

Odd! "Ask EV Car to start climate control" works for me (yay). But "Ask EV Car to get location" never works: it instead replies "I missed what you said. Say it again?" or "What was that?"

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

The Missassauga location is moving this weekend to a temporary location, which is much bigger. I was told they hope to move to their final location for end of year. Update: The new (temporary) location is 420 Ambassador Dr, Unit B in Missassauga.

Anywhere to charge on Manitoulin Island (ON)?

I think the map databases for Canada have little information on speed limits. Navigon in Europe and the US show the current speed limits for the road and provide warnings when you reach, but never do for Canada. I started to fill in information in my local area on OpenStreetMaps and it's a bit...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2015

You can put crappy products on time or put out polished products when they're ready. It's the Quality/Cost/Time triangle: choose any two, which determine the third. They have a high bar in quality, they've spent hugely already, so time must slip. I'd much rather a quality product that people...

You're right: I don't know. And I've never been there after Q end to compare. The cars by the SC stalls had notes about being QC'd scrawled on their windshields and were 70D and 85D, but I can't generalize to the lot.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2015

I wondered if Elon meant that Tesla will help others build GFs for manufacturing of batteries. With 2 billion 1GWh packs required, there's plenty of money to be made. When he was showing the blue patch of solar required for covering US demand, I thought Elon might announce that Tesla was in the...

Woah, hyperbole check needed. They've only been selling the Model S for a couple of years. European sales were slower than hoped (Germany), but that hasn't stopped the roll out elsewhere.

Side windows fogging (just in cold?)

As part of replacing a faulty 12V, I asked the SC to look at the HVAC: I've had the system blowing out cool air when it was -17°C outside and interior was set for 23°C. They updated the car to 6.0 / 2.0.xx and it seems to have made a big difference.

Toronto Airport - Charge Stations for Long Term Parking?

Reality seems to enjoy poking holes in theories: this cold spell combined with a petulant car that refused to sleep (!) meant that we returned to find just 5km of range remaining. We limped to the Hilton Garden Inn for an emergency charge (whose charger only provided 193V/51A once warmed up...

Toronto Airport - Charge Stations for Long Term Parking?

To be clear, these comments were about the Park N Fly valet, not the Pearson airport valet. I typically lose about 8-10 km of range per night when I forget to plug in when it's hovering around 0°C. I figure worst case for YYZ should be 15 km. I'll be away for two weeks and figure worst case...

It also causes problems for those needing to finance their car. Bankers aren't too fond to deal with plus-or-minus $10,000. Oh, and since the biggest cost item on the car are the batteries, we should denominate in yen.

Somebody has to build, pay, and maintain these facilities. And at these latitudes, solar is marginal for months due to snow cover and reduced & weak sun. In the areas where it matters, people already carry spare jerry cans of fuel. I carry some spare CR2032s for the MS keyfob, a portable...

Risk of aluminum battery to tesla model

I think you're forgetting remote and/or underpopulated areas. It's not even that Tesla or some third party won't install superchargers, but that these regions are off-grid. Al-Air provides a zero-emissions solution for those areas (they're already flying in fuel).
