Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
You can drive with the rear view mirror obstructed. Vans do it all the time, same with boxed trucks. Only mirror you need is the driver side mirror.
My biggest worry with all this bulletproof stuff are kids throwing rocks at stranger's trucks to "test it out".
I like how the clips are seated on the sidewall instead of the wheel itself.
I'm looking at the Security Chain sizing guide and it looks like they suggest the SZ143 for 255/45/19. How did you decide on the SZ429, and have you gotten any use of it so far?
My gf got the ZFlip3. She got this case from amazon that lets her store her ID inside of it (only 1 card). It adds a bit of length to the ends of the device, and she's now able to charge her phone in my car (updated console). It can only charge folded because it is now too long to be unfolded...
Does anyone have a Z Flip 3 and can confirm it wirelessly charges with the updated center console? The wireless charging receiver is situated lower than other phones. Thanks!
Unfortunately, 2 short weeks into my ownership, my passenger seat is light pink from a oversized red shirt my gf was wearing.
I tried using ONR, ColourLock, APC, and isopropyl, but no luck. I even tried magic eraser on the darkest spots, but that didn't seem to do much.
Any other...
Ultrasonics have difficulty detecting narrow objects, the tree is pretty skinny. That's why a lot of these crashes are poles, trees, pillars, cones. I think 360 cameras would help with these low speed maneuvers. Looking at Tesla's vectorize birds eye view, I could see it having difficulty...

No VIN yet, but it sounds like mine is coming up soon. It would be nice if there was a definite date so I could plan around it.

model S is smoother but still slightly firm. It's in line with the Germans. I think the 3/Y issues are with the shocks. You could try a coilover kit. UPP has a satisfaction guarantee for their luxury coilovers.
Driving in chill mode will help you control regen better as well.
I bit at $48,990. I'm a very indecisive person, but I figured $100 was worth the piece of mind if the price ever changes. Pretty proud of that decision.
Thanks for the clarification. People tend to go quick into personal attacks on this forum. I've had really good experience with blended regen, just wondering if its in the works or still into consideration.
I don't think the implementation will be bad. We experience automated braking in...
comfort is definitely lighter, but its not light like an Audi or Lexus. I'd say it's medium. Car also has a very quick steering rack so you'd need to put more input than usually at higher speeds.
I personally drive in standard because I find discomfort in both comfort and sport. Now I just...
Read the rest of the thread. I'm not just talking about blended brakes, but also blended regen. That way you have consistent one-pedal driving regardless of SoC or weather conditions.
If you really like OPD, wouldn't you want to be able to do it all the time?
Wonder where the 8 cu ft came from. I hope it's not from the frunk (heat pump). 8 cu ft is a lot though, so unlikely. Maybe new slimmer seats? Kind of doubt it.
Maybe I'm not being clear. I'm not complaining about the concept of OPD.
I'm saying blended braking could improve it by giving consistent deceleration regardless of weather conditions or SoC, whether it is from regen or friction brakes.
If I'm at 100% and it's freezing cold outside, I still...
I actually charge to 80%, but I often drive at pretty low percentage, so when I do charge up it always startles me. This applies to cold weather as well.
Anyone's media player keep crashing? It doesn't matter if I'm listening to bluetooth audio or radio, the media player would crash. It will continue playing if I switch between bluetooth and radio, but I'm seeing this daily. I do not have premium connectivity, and I only play music through radio...
What's OBE? I still have to use the brake pedal when I'm at high SoC. There isn't enough regen. I think there are benefits in blended braking systems for both one and two pedal driving for reasons I listed above.
More Regen~
In EVs I've driven with a blended brake system + one pedal driving, you could brush the brakes to have more regen. Theoretically you could put your systems full regen potential in one pedal driving, but it will be not as smooth and very alarming if you take your foot off the pedal...
Why doesn't Tesla have a blended braking system? A blended braking system could feed in more regen and have a more consistent one pedal driving experience.
Well I'm coming from a cayman. I just borrowed a Lexus for a weekend road trip. I like the model S and miatas have nice static ratios. 14:1 or 15:1 is nice.
