Stood in line at Buena Park showroom March 31, 2016. Number 99 to order at that location. Config email received March 26, 2018. Ordered yesterday morning. I do not own an X or S.
Midnight Silver Metalic, 18”, AP - no self-driving upgrade.
Scared out of my mind, excited, freaking out...just...
Thanks so much to everyone who helped organize this wonderful conference!
So many great moments; the members; the speakers; the factory; the cars; the party at Bonnie's...it's overwhelming.
Now I'm back to the desert and no Teslas! : (
The only thing that will get me through my wait for my 3...
At the Buena Park location. Just made my reservation. Went very quickly. I'm estimating 350 people here so far. Still a long line but moving pretty fast.
My estimate of 100 people in line when I arrived at Buena Park was pretty good...they are handing out numbers...I'm number 99, about 50 people behind me so far.
Hooray! I can start stalking the SC for Tesla sightings! So great! The wait was agonizing!
For @Jerry33 and any others out there in search of edible food...
Just a short walk east (about 0.2 miles) there is Napoli's Coffee (3035 Menaul Blvd., opposite side of the street from the SC).
A...
A huge thank you to all those tireless volunteers who worked so hard to plan, organize, and run this incredible event!
Once again I am amazed at everything that happened! Such a wonderful experience. Already planning on my return next year! Super event! Words just not adequate.
Unbelievable wrap up to a fabulous event!
Thank you thank you thank you! First to everyone who organized the wonderful wrap (taco!) party. Zextraterrestrial, Jouler, Jouler's Mom for cooking and organizing and Jouler's Mom and Dad for letting the party happen at their incredible home. Thanks to...
Wanted to let people know the large road-construction project on Menaul Blvd. is complete. The SC site is easily accessible from both west and east directions.
Sadly, as far as I know, the SC is still not open.
Was going to check for a permit for a fence at that location, but from what I was...
Progress Report
Called Tesla today. The person suggested I email [email protected].
I did. No reply yet.
Big thanks to the Tesla owners who went over and checked it out. You people are super...even if the chargers are not...yet...
Hold up there everyone. Love the enthusiasm, but we have no confirmation the site is actually open.
The Tesla Motors web site still shows the Albuquerque SC as "Coming Soon" and no one has reported that they have actually charged at this SC yet so...please don't get ahead of things...we need...
Just got a return call from Laurie Moye of PNM. She checked with her contacts and was told that the supercharger is up and running.
If anyone with a Model S was thinking of going over there, and won't melt in the heat, could you check it out and see if this information is correct? If not...
Spent part of this afternoon downtown checking on building permits. Spoke with Mr. Land Clark, Chief Building Official of the City. He checked any permits associated with the Supercharger site. As far as he could tell, there are no pending permits. Everything is complete and final.
Went...
Scoots
Thanks for the info...super cool! A lit up Tesla symbol! Can not wait to see that!
Polly Wog
Oh duh...how did I not think to check that! A meter! What a novel concept! :frown:
i hate to say it, but when PNM did not show on Friday I had a feeling it was going to set things back more...
Just stopped by site. No workers, no activity.
I do not have a beautiful Model S so I don't know how to check if power has been turned on to the charger bays...
I am going to be very involved with family activities over the next few days and won't be able to check the site. I'll have to leave...
Just when you thought things would really happen...
The power company, PNM, never showed. Site not open. No word on when site will be completed. Pretty frustrating...reportedly there were assurances from the power company that they would be here today. Oh well...
Was on site around noon today. Tony, a Tesla employee, is on site. PNM is suppose to arrive and finalize hookups. Tony brought out an MS from Phoenix to test superchargers. Hopes to finish testing chargers today. I will try to keep everyone posted.
Progress as of 3:30pm.
No one on site. Buildout looks essentially complete. Stalls finished; landscaping done; signage up;. site cleared of debris/equipment; and PNM sticker on transformer indicating installation is electrified. Orange cones probably mean site has not been certified yet. Was...
Point taken.
It's just that I was posting on Memorial Day and wanted to show some respect. It's not all about shopping, fun, and Super Chargers...
i guess my thinking is affected by my years working with a group of Bataan Death March survivors from New Mexico. Years ago I was involved in...
After a Memorial Day holiday to honor our veterans (honoring them Memorial Day and every day!) workers are back on site.
PNM, the electric power company here, still needs to hook up power to the transformer before much else can happen. The installation will need to be certified before it can...
Stopped by at about 11:30 this morning. No change from yesterday prevening.
This site is not complete.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, landscaping is not complete, lights have not been installed, etc.
No workers were on site during my last two stops so I don't have more information about...
Progress today: striping complete, all coverings for chargers in place, all charging wands in place. Still need lights and some landscaping at least. No one on site at about 5pm when I went by so I can't give anyone any official news. Looks terrific!
Dagnabbit! Scooped again! Went by the site around 5pm. No one around. At least the weather improved. Now if they could do something about the wind...but it is spring in NM! At least the sun is out!
Great picture @blogth, looks just like the one I took!
More progress soon! Won't be...
Here is the latest from one of the "photo-journalists" covering the new SC in Albuquerque...love it! Ha! Hope we are doing better than most of the real photo-journalists out there! Sometimes I wonder where they get some of those people...but back to the important stuff...
Another cold...
Wow! Aloha and Mahalo @Polly Wog! So nice to receive such kind words!
Sorry I didn't respond sooner but life suddenly got in the way of more important matters...like Tesla! But house plumbing is fixed now so I can get back to reporting!
Love all the interest in the new Super Charger here. I'm...
Progress Report
Concrete work complete.
Even with persistent light rain showers crew managed to finish concrete on schedule. Super workers! So professional! Very polite even at about 5:30pm on a Friday in the drizzle.
We can do a lot of things out here in the wilds of New Mexico...zero G excavation is not one of them!
But if Space X keeps going like it has been, I might get to check out excavation on Mars! No zero G on the Martian surface, but a lot less than earth gravity! Would be fun to try it...
Spoke briefly with the workers today. There will be a total of 6 charging bays. Four on the south side and 2 on the east side of he southeast corner of the Applebee's restaurant parking lot on Menaul Blvd.
They were super nice, very friendly and excited to talk about their work. So great to...
Stopped by the future supercharger location in Albuquerque at about 2PM today. Spoke with a manager at the hotel...the manager told me the Applebee's next door is working on the actual build out.
Went next door. Spoke with Alan Jordan, General Manager at the Applebee's. He said he understood...
Along with all the potential accidents and fires there is another danger from gas stations. Air pollution.
Last Tuesday (February 3, 2015) I was forced to file an appeal with the New Mexico Supreme Court. The City of Albuquerque gave a permit modification to a company to pump up to 4.5...
Tesla for a night!
Wanted to let anyone (like me!) who have not bought your Tesla yet (M3 for me I'm afraid...) that there is an amazing opportunity happening now in our area.
In conjunction with the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, organizers have set up a free raffle. The winner gets to...
Checked the Tesla Motors website this evening for anything about Albuquerque as I do pretty regularly...OK...a lot...
Tonight I seem to see a prospective service center location near Menaul and Carlisle, NE. Am I seeing things?
I went over over there this evening (OK I rushed over there as...
Wow Bonnie! What can I say?! It would be awesome (I hate that word but sometimes it works!) to see you and any other TMC types (but must it be Texas Bonnie? Ha!)
Any chance of trailoring that spiffy white Roadster of yours behind the X when you come!?
Very overwhelmed over here! It's like a...
I am in severe Tesla withdrawal as I remember back to all the absolutely wonderful moments of this year's TMC Connect EVent!
A huge Thank You to everyone involved! Especially the organizers such as Doug and all on his team. What an incredible job!
Bonnie is amazing and was super kind to have...
There is no adequate way to offer my appreciation to all those who planned, organized, supported, and participated in Teslive 2013! What an incredible success! For such a multi-faceted volunteer event, it looked and felt very professional to me!
The conference was like a dream and I don't...
Please put me on the wait list for a factory tour. Would prefer Friday but any time is OK. I'm coming from out of town, no previous tour, hope to buy a Gen III...does owning a few shares of TSLA count? Hope so! Thanks!
