Agreed that something else is going on and that just replacing the 12V is not likely to solve the issue. I find it amazing Tesla service has access to a bunch of stats. I wished that the data was available to us as well.
Definitely should have kept the new battery. The tech wanted to try to see if it was a reset that got it working or the battery. In the choas of diagnosing they didn't put the new battery back in.
I got the car jumped and drove it to the local service center. They checked the logs and it...
Ugh. The Hannshow screen was completely removed including the harness 2 days ago.
My car was parked outside with about 70% charge. I just went to the car and it's completely dead yet again!
I'm on a chat with roadside assitance and they said teh following:

Pretty much all companies will blame an aftermarket product
The fact that I’ve had a fair amount of problems with the Hansshow display other than this issue doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence
What’s really odd is that jumping the car from a tow truck as well as a portable jumper had zero...
Was going to drive my daughter to school this morning only to find my 2018 Model 3 COMPLETELY dead and unresponsive. The car was plugged into the wall charger overnight. Couldn't unplug either.
Contacted Tesla roadside assistance. They called a tow truck to have my car towed to the local...
How did you get it to work?
I have a USB drive that worked in my Model S, works when plugged directly into the front ports on the Model 3 but is not recognized when plugged into that USB adapter you mention. The USB drive has a tiny LED showing when it's accessed and it doesn't even flash when...
I have a Nissan LEAF in addition to the Model S. I actually ordered the Model S then decided to pick up the LEAF while waiting. They are both great cars but have different pros and cons. I live in the city so the LEAF is an absolutely ideal city car especially with the surround cameras. That...

I too am in the city and had an electrician run 220V to my detached garage. Even though my Model S has only a single charger I had him run 100 amp service because I also have a Nissan Leaf and want to charge both at the same time.
My garage already had 110V through conduit but it wasn't large...
I too am seriously considering taking the day off and going. Charging is the only issue but I see on Plugshare.com that there are several EV plugs (doesn't say what kind) around Normal, IL. Worst case I bring a laptop and do a little work while I top off the battery before the trip home.
I received my Model S last week and it was built during the affected window. When I contacted service today to schedule the appointment they told me that it's not needed because the update was performed before the car was delivered to me.
Nice.
