Have delivery scheduled this week, may have to cancel. Possible transfer?

Just wanted to provide an update for clarity. Was told by my delivery manager that Tesla will not allow this. They do not want to set a precedent where someone can "jump the queue." I understand that they don't want anyone gaming the system, but they should look at the circumstances. I am on...

Have delivery scheduled this week, may have to cancel. Possible transfer?

I have an X that has been delivered to the SC in Rockville and is being prepped. Due to a personal situation, I may not be able to take delivery. I would rather not lose my $5k deposit, so would be open to transfer my order to someone else. Not looking to make money, just want my deposit back...

Track your Tesla while it's on the boat

Ok, my mind works a little differently. I read the thread title and was imagining racing your car around the boat. Maybe on the NurBoatRing.

    Did I just take someone's Reservation #?

As a point of reference, I reserved in early October and my number is 2000 lower than yours, so around 500 or so reservations per month.

Possibly. Tried to reproduce it today but couldn't find enough snow on the road.

Traction in snow on summer performance tires

Winter tires definitely make a difference, but as dsm363 says, only using two would produce some wonky results. I had blizzaks on my old Boxster, and they were great, until we had an 80 degree day in March, before I put the summers back on.

Traction in snow on summer performance tires

Appreciate the comments. I agree that driving schools are almost always helpful, and I have been thru some, and have autocrossed a bit as well. Also agree, that a LSD is very useful. To clarify, the lurching I referred to, was with T/C on. I have also said (multiple times now) that summer...

Traction in snow on summer performance tires

Having owned 6 Audi quattro's, I am very familiar with the AWD benefits, and already stated that the tires were not the right ones for the job. Regardless of which tires are on the car, it should not lurch back and forth when coasting. I am more concerned about the non-normal behavior. Thanks...

Traction in snow on summer performance tires

Of course I understand that I am not using the appropriate tires. What I failed to convey in my post was that the car acted very unusually. When trying to drive straight on a flat road, it kept pulling to one side, as if only one wheel was driven. I put the regen on low, and when coasting...

Traction in snow on summer performance tires

I am reposting most of this from the Mid-Atlantic sub forum. I have the summer performance 21s and today was awful. We had a couple of inches of snow but the car was very erratic. I got up a hill ok, but couldn't get the car moving after stopping at a light. Flat road, the car would only go...

Snow tires in DC: Yay or nay?

I have the summer performance 21s and today was awful. I got up a hill ok, but couldn't get the car moving after stopping at a light. Flat road, the car would only go sideways. I eventually got it far enough off the road to be safe, but sat there for about 10 minutes rocking it back and...

    PEPCO electrical rates - MD

I have my HPWC on a 100 Amp circuit. I usually charge at 40 but have done 80 before. I end up with about 50-55 miles of charge per hour. Still waiting to see how much of a difference the program makes in my bill.

Why do BMW drivers who encounter Teslas almost always embarass themselves?

Warning, this is a joke. Don't read any further if you don't know how to laugh. What's the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? On a porcupine, the prick is on the outside.

    Hailstorm

Bluefuego, Just be warned. I have an Audi S8 that was caught in a hailstorm a few years ago. I filed a claim, and now my otherwise perfect carfax says the car was in an accident. I have been trying to sell the car, and even though it never needed any paint, people are hesitant.

    PEPCO electrical rates - MD

Doug, Sorry, for the typo, you are correct. I agree, the pilot really only makes sense if you have the separate charger. I'm not sure what they get out of it though, maybe some kind of federal tax credit. I'll see how much of a difference it makes and report back.

    PEPCO electrical rates - MD

ilg, I signed up for the pilot program, but I didn't have to pay anything. I already had my HPWC installed, so they just came out and installed a sub meter so that the wall charger pulls power thru it. Rates are definitely higher from noon to 8 PM on weekdays, but I almost never charge during...

    Driving in snow

i have a P85+ so staggered 21s (Michelin PS2s). It was about 15 degrees and the roads had about an inch or two of snow on them. I know, high perf summer tires are not recommended for winter.

    Driving in snow

That's interesting. I tried it the other day and as soon as I lifted, the car acted like the rear tires were locked up. I switched to low-regen mode. Wonder if there is something wrong with my car.

    Installed new front cupholders

I didn't know the bin was easily removed. I haven't had any spillage so far, and the velcro (and bin connectors) have held well. I almost always use a no-spill cup (contigo's are great), but if I have a soda from a drive-thru, I use the cupholders in the armrests. I do use the bin for...

    Installed new front cupholders

I wasn't happy with the cupholders in the armrest, so I thought I would try something else. I ordered a couple of these from ebay. They cost about $25 each. I also ordered some industrial velcro. Ok, not the velcro brand, but you get the idea. This stuff is neat in that it doesn't have two...

Weird thing happened with my S

I had a similar thing happen with the front passenger window. The window would lower itself when the door was opened, but would not raise back up on its own when the door was closed. If I opened the door two or three times, the window would be open 2 or 3 inches. Rebooting the center console...

Does Active Air Improve Ride Quality or just adjust the Height?

I second this. I have the air on my p85+ with 21s, and on the loaner P85 w/o air and with 21s, the ride was harsher. I don't know that I would call the air suspension smoother, but definitely less harsh, more refined.

    P85+ vs. Audi S8

So I am replacing my 2008 Audi S8 with a P85+. Just came back from picking up the Model S, and I have to say, Holy Crap!!! The S8 is no slouch, and until this morning, a fantastic and fun car, with plenty of grunt. I had thought of keeping both, but no more. The instant response, the...
