    I'm told Tesla body parts are difficult to get as they are trying to build new cars as opposed to selling parts. Could result in a longer then normal wait for the repairs to get done. I guess if your insurance company will pay for a rental car while your car is in the shop it's no problem.

    If I'm not mistaken there is a weight sensor in the passenger seat that controls the passenger airbag. If the seat is empty or a child (less than 'n' lbs) is seating in the seat the air bag is turned off. Sounds like a sensor or controller problem.

    My advice for you and/or your parents is to call in a qualified electrician to sort it out. You could be dealing with a catastrophe by not correcting this issue. Violating national or local electric codes can cause major consequences.

    It'll be a 30+ day wait for a refund if you pay and reject the MY and then cancel your order. Tesla's business practices are not customer friendly to say the least. The thought of owning a Tesla is cult like in spite of the order & delivery process they dictate.

    I too have instructed my SA to move my Model Y build to later this year. The number of fit & finish issues was the primary reason. I'm thinking another 2/3 months of manufacturing and/or tooling updates might resolve many of the shortfalls I've heard about. Time will tell.
