10.4 Problems - No autopilot, cruise, AP visuals or FSD

I had a new update this afternoon same rev/release and it solved the issue! For reference, I had both emailed FSD as well as made a service appointment, not sure if either or both helped at all though. I did get a nice call from Tesla after I saw the update available telling me to go ahead and...

10.4 Problems - No autopilot, cruise, AP visuals or FSD

2020 MX here with no AP after 10.4 update. Another thread somewhere saying a second download of .36.8.5 fixed it, some say there’s a .36.8.6 (might be refresh S/X only though). Seems like this is being widely felt on the legacy S/X so hopefully a fix pushed soon.

    Model X - Baby Mirror - How?!?

I’ve tried a couple things- first, I modified an Amazon headrest mirror by screwing a suction cup RAM mount and some joints to be able to mount and suspend from the top Falcon Wing Door glass. It worked pretty good, but recently decided to try something else… again with a RAM mount and some...

    Suspension Heights Wrong After Update

Same for me on both .4 and .5 speaking of bugs… also seem to have some system glitches with both screens being blank last night needing a couple resets to resolve and also cabin overheat seems to not work even though it’s been verified to be turned on. Seems to be sleeping so well it’s not...

Model X seemingly bricked—black screens all around, reboots don’t work

Not sure if what I experienced was the same as here, but I had a real weird (and first like it since owning the car) situation a few weeks ago while on the first real trip with my 2020 MX LR+ - I went to get the car from parking lot at hotel, got in and put in reverse and the backup camera...

Auto Pilot 'off' sound - sounds tinny every now and then...

My 2020 Model X started doing the same a few months ago- it seems to be random and not consistently repeatable. Being as it’s being experienced across multiple years and models, likely a software bug, maybe 2 sounds are trying to play over each other when it happens?

    Bluetooth microphone

I have exactly the same problem with 2020 MX. after searching, it seems quite common for years though every once in a while you see a comment saying people on the other end can’t even tell they are in a car- not sure if they just got lucky or what. Tesla rarely finds a fix for it and blames it...

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

Interesting, thanks for the tip! I’m 99.9% sure that sentry isn’t on unless it’s turned itself back on after an update, but I’ll check tomorrow. I still need to call Tesla to see what they say about it, but as an intermediate fix, I’ve implemented an automation in home assistant to turn charging...

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

So I have a mid-2020 wall connector that I just got around to installing last month and having seen these issues, I was worried about what I’d be up against. I wired a 90 amp sub panel to the garage with 4ga and also used the same 4 ga wire for the 60 amp circuit to the wall connector as I had...

    V3 Supercharger speed/rate for MX

Not exactly an app, but it’s Teslamate which you run on a “server” of choice. Some do raspberry pi, mine is on docker on an always on Windows pc... it’s the only thing I’ve found that still allows a decent sleep of the car. I just finally installed my Gen 3 wall connector that I bought in May...

    V3 Supercharger speed/rate for MX

2020 MX LR+: I supercharged for the first time yesterday in San Diego at the V3 off Balboa. Not sure if it’s because nearly every stall was in use, but only topped out at 130kW for a second then tapered back down fairly quick (yellow line in chart below). Did charge from 27% to 80% in a little...

    Model X Phantom Drain

First, strongly suggest changing your display (and thinking) to battery percent as opposed to fictional miles. 2 miles over 4 hours is 0.7%, extrapolate that to a day and it’s a little over 4% - about what I’d see in my 2020 MX if it didn’t sleep so I don’t think anything is abnormally draining...

    Model X Phantom Drain

you do have a couple additional factors with the service items, and update wise, I notice variations here and there as well in terms of behavior. With the most recent update (35.5) I think it does take a little longer to settle in to a good deep sleep. Just for reference, and I know no 2 of...

    Model X Phantom Drain

I think I commented similar earlier in this thread- if you are losing what seems to be excessive battery when “idle” the car is likely not actually idle and not going to sleep. There’s a slew of things that can cause it from apps pinging it to the environment it’s sitting in to various settings...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Ah, your trade in helps with sales tax there, lucky, not so in CA. Yea my hope is that resale would still remain high enough for the “old” MX going to people that prefer the original features... I just despise the process of selling privately, does usually make for some good stories though.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

On the surface I get this, but what is the true “cost” of trading up? Would the intent to be to trade in the 21MXLR? Guessing that’ll be a $20k minimum hit right there from what was paid to trade in value, not to mention if you are in a state with sales tax, that has already been paid as well...

My Model X wrapped in Satin Guard

Good to know- I’ll check them out and see where they are at on price... I did see that the xpel stealth pre-cut is available but quick calc of the various sets required looks like it’s around $4k just for the material and while I tackled the chrome delete with I’d say A- results, not sure I’m...

My Model X wrapped in Satin Guard

Thanks for the feedback- I figured it was pricy, but that’s a lot. Guessing OC would be close to Bay Area for cost, I’d probably pass at that cost too.

My Model X wrapped in Satin Guard

This does look fantastic- does anyone have any examples of it on midnight silver metallic? Also, I saw the question but didn’t see an answer, apologize if I missed it, but roughly how much would one expect to pay for this application to their MX? Edit: I googled and there are various examples...

50a twist lock to Tesla corded mobile connector

Look in to this: 50A Locking Shore Power (SS2-50 / CS6365) Adapter for Tesla Model S/X/3 Gen 2 – EVSE Adapters if not that exact one, look through that site, they’ll likely have it.

Space Gray Model X after Chrome Delete

Just installed this on my Midnight Silver Metallic MX - overall, great kit, slight learning curve, but completely doable for the average person, saving a ton of $$ over professional chrome delete. Only had to use one backup price so far after trying to install after too hot from sitting in sun...

    Wi-Fi Updates

I’ve only had my 2020 MX a few months more that you, but if I had to estimate, I’d say I’ve probably averaged about 2 updates a month, give or take. I seem to get a notice that there’s a new update about 2 days after they are released, and I would always install right away (though I know exactly...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Complete personal preference, but I bought an X at a price premium over a Y because I just could not stand the look of the Y. Where as the S and X look related, they look appropriate to their type. The 3 looks decent with appropriate wheels but then the Y just looks like the 3 is stretched in...

Auto-open door not fully opening when approaching from front!

I’ve noticed mine lately behaving more like you mention haven’t been able to consistently replicate. For example, I back in to my garage (with obstacles within a few feet of the door) and as I walk up from the front, it behaves as you indicate yours used to (cracked when approaching, more once...

    Rear camera off center?

Mine is the same- I extended the width of the wheels with some 2x4’s so it showed up on the camera and you can see the offset from them to the lines on the backup camera what is estimate at about 4” or so. For me it’s a bit frustrating because while the car might use the ultrasonic sensors to...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I still don’t get it, why is any of this all that weird and speculative of “refresh”? I think if you poll folks, the delivery estimates are really just that and reality has been all over the place based on a plethora of factors. They’ve probably also learned that it’s a better “buyer experience”...

Tesla app - false “rear passenger window down message?”

I believe it was “Tessie”. You get a week to play with it then pay a subscription. I despise subscriptions and avoid them wherever possible and this wasn’t a necessary enough feature to justify it for me. If the 3rd party app is doing it, it can’t be anything too exotic, I was almost thinking of...

Model X battery drain in park totally off

Tesla app - false “rear passenger window down message?”

Like someone said, the interesting thing is, you can close the windows from a 3rd party app, but not the native one. I had asked a question on here a couple weeks ago regarding it but got no responses. I’m pretty sure it’s even possible to roll up from native app on the 3/Y, but not 100% sure...

Next match in March 21 doesn’t seem too strange- all capacity in December is probably spoken for (on paper at least, will probably get someone else’s “unmatch” matched to you in the last week of December haha) and March is the 3rd month of the next quarter when they align the US deliveries...

    2021 Q7 vs X ?

Don’t take my comments above as a knock on going with either choice, honestly the OP or anyone pondering such choices will likely be thrilled with either! I absolutely love my 2020 MX LR+, coming from a 2014 SQ5, and quite honestly still love that car as well. We juggled cars and kept that one...

    2021 Q7 vs X ?

A few key questions that only you can answer (really not specific to Q7 either): Is “electric” important to you How do you value German (or other luxury brand origin) engineering, fit, finish How do you value cutting edge technologies that will be able to be easily upgraded/updated via OTA...

    Key security issue

The thief also needs to be within 15 feet of your key for at least a minute and a half with a backpack full of hacking gear. Closing Model X Windows From App

Trying to understand the remote window operation (or lack thereof). For Model X you can vent the windows from the native Tesla app, but not close them. On other models I understand you can close too. Why?! Can’t be safety, same auto pinch system exists... can’t be electro-mechanical, if you can...

    Model X Screen Burn in

I plan to monitor this closer, as I would hate to have burn in on my screen, but since reading this, I’ve taken closer notice to the screen behavior when charging (or before/after). I do have my car set to not auto lock at home. I also have it set to start charging at 9:30pm when TOU is lowest...

    Backup Camera “Logic”

So I think I have confirmed that indeed, if the front sensors are active while in reverse and the camera is active, it will stay on the screen when shifting in to drive. If the rear sensors are active, shifting in to drive still triggers the backup camera to instantly disappear.

    Backup Camera “Logic”

Ahh, ok, that makes sense, I’ll pay closer attention next time the sensors are on and I’m switching back and forth between drive and reverse. for what it’s worth, I could not replicate with the suggestion of tapping it on the screen before shifting in to drive. my Audi and it seems others...

    Backup Camera “Logic”

Thanks! I’ll give that a try tomorrow! I’ve noticed it staying on more often, but still haven’t figured out what might be triggering it to do so and just haven’t had a chance to play with it and try different things. Pretty sure I haven’t been touching the screen, but maybe? Regardless, if that...

Model X Front Windows “Clunk” on Full Close

Not that it makes it any better, but at least I’m not the only one experiencing this and yes, it’s with both open and closing operations as well. Has anyone had any luck with service on this particular issue or will they throw it under “normal operation” category. I should have noted, it’s a...

    Backup Camera “Logic”

Model X range increased by over 10% according to Tesla

Shutter when stopping after hard braking
