    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

No doubt. But it's not all the time that those weak opinions make it to CNBC. Panasonic news is good, and will contribute to TSLA's long term upwards trend, but I don't think it will have a large effect on today's movement.
  5. C

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Some bad press. I don't think it will change things much but might add so some selling pressure today.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Yeah. I think day trading would be the way to go. Only exposing yourself to risk during trading hours. Sadly since I'm just using a small amount of money that's not an option. I can still just limit myself in small windows centered around known TSLA catalysts. But that's no fun.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Yeah, there is no doubt the next few months will be exciting. Everything is pointing to a big move on the upside. I can't really think of anything to play devils advocate with that would throw a wrench into things other than the market overall taking a ****.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I think it's just an exercise in restraint. Had I not panicked a little Tuesday I'd be fantastic. The trend is up, even for just weekly movement, so calls will be safer in the end. I'm up around 100% atm with post ER play money. But that doesn't really mean anything since I can just lose it all...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I am. So I lost my lunch today thinking that yesterdays drop would keep into today. I kept the calls for way longer than I should have waiting on the FOMC minutes to affect the market when I should have dropped them this morning. To make up for it I'm grabbing some June 06 220 calls for...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

So I just sold my June 6 200 calls, grabbing June 13 177.5 puts. I think today's market drop isn't over with and will continue into tomorrow and may bring Tesla down with it. If it seems like just a weak sell off then I'll sell em at -1% which we will likely hit even if its an alright day tomorrow.
  14. C

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I'm skeptical about a good week. There is some justified fear about the market overall with last weeks events. I'm still holding onto my June 06 200 calls.

I've changed my mind: Why Apple Should buy Tesla

The more I think about this more I thinks its possible, even smart. Google has shown great interest in the future of automobiles and clean energy. Not only this, but there are a likely large number of people that own Models S's at Google that understand what Tesla Motors is doing, and how...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

So, today looks like it will be an alright day. I still hold my 200 june 06 calls, which are break even - theta. I just don't know what to do about next week. I haven't done any research into possible catalysts, and with TSLA tracking the market so well I'll have to look into catalysts from...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

So I just sold my 182.5 May 30 puts and placed some June 6 200 call orders. Just waiting for them to get filled at 3.90. EDIT: And they got filled. Lets hope that there is some more pleasant news later today.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

It's still a little early to call it. We saw the same thing yesterday, but had a weird spike in the middle of the day to bring us back up.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Is that based on new information from today's conference? They did another update May 12, that would have included anything gleaned from the ER.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I dunno about vindication and all that. It just seems like there was a lot of downward pressure today matching the overall market, only held off thanks to some pleasant press. This makes me think that we are at the tail end of the Q1-ER buybacks. So if the pleasant press is done I think moving...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

So I just sold my may 30 200 calls, and purchased some may 30 182.5 puts. Not that I think we will actually get to 182.5, but I think don't think tomorrow or friday will be up. So i'll let it hit -1% again, sell, and grab the same may 30 200 calls when it happens.
  29. C

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Maybe. But I think the suddenness of the movement says that there is a change in what would have happened.
  30. C

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

You're right. Had we not had the oatmeal, panasonic, or even the conferences we'd be finishing at a point determined by non-TLSA related event reasons for buying/selling. Such as beliefs in TA, or the market in general, and restructuring portfolios. But without today's "non" news my calls...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Meh, if you are interested in TSLA for the long term. You are probably right. Why let the daily news influence your opinion of a company you already know will be going somewhere? I'm not a long. I'm more interested in the day to day routine. If you find it a distraction, there is always the...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

Still, if people are changing their position in TSLA. Then that means there is a change in their outlook and their reasons for either staying out until now, or staying in until now. If someone knows something we don't then isn't that still something worth at least talking about?

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

People have a reason everytime they click they Buy/Sell button. Wether thats "We're going to go up because of the bounce off the 200ma" or "Jennifer Anniston likes Tesla". I think it's important to understand those reasons. There is a reason we wen't from -1% today to 1.5% atm. Why? Is it...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

As did I. I still question whats going on during sudden jumps in prices during the past few days. I think TA can be used to justify interday movements. But its hard to explain these weird price movements we've been seeing during the day. Which can really only be explained for events that...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2014

I dunno. I was watching pretty much all day. Pretty much right after it was posted to these forums the stock climbed an extra 2% that waned throughout the day. Call it what you will, bots, 200MA bounce, HFTs. I'm betting mutual fund managers with the hots for Jen. The technicals were true...

Yet it seems both end up in the snippiness thread. Anyways, these movements seem a little quick in my opinion. Driven yesterday mostly by Mrs. Anniston and today by Panasonic. I wouldn't be suprised if we see a small pullback either tomorrow or thursday. But I don't think its likely that it...

Agreed. This isn't something that can be easily proven or disproven given available data. It could easily be said that California is having a decline in sales due to saturation, but a couple stores aren't indicative of the company as a whole. However it could be an interesting investigation as...

If you want more honesty. I bought some 200 may 30th calls while I do some more research today. If I can't find any significant reasons for us to not keep moving up back to 200, I'll just keep those.

I got out my short position this morning with the small drop. And by short, I just had some 177.5 puts for the 17th. I find it hard to justify, without any research, taking another short position. So it looks like a good week for longs in my eyes. That being said, the without further research...

I had a short position over the past few days, since the ER. Obviously it hasn't paid off much after the ER. I haven't decided what I'm going to do for the rest of the week yet. I think it will be a decent week, but I haven't yet looked at the weeks coming events for TSLA and the market in...
