    Deliveries of $80k X?

As noted above, we took delivery of our Refresh X on Sept 20 and I promised a short review video after we had a chance to drive it for a few weeks. We now have nearly 2000 miles on the car, so here is my video. Enjoy

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Took delivery on 9/20 in Pleasant Grove UT. The car is a 9/2023 build. The build quality is fine, but I'm not that picky. There is nothing that I noted that needed attention. This is our 3rd time with a Model X (2017 100D, 2021 LR+, 2023 Refresh X). The delivery center was packed full of...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

BTW this will be our 3rd time buying an X. Looking back at my history, we bought our first, 100 D in October of 2017. We traded it in on a Raven LR+ in October of 2020, and now the refresh X. I really didn't plan on replacing our current X with another X, but the price drop and FSD transfer...

Anyone get the holiday update yet…..?

On the Teslafi site, there have been 8,900 installs of the new software, but only 2 model X's have received the software. If you dig deeper, the two model X's are 2022's, so it looks like the rest of us will have to wait longer. Maybe they just forgot us or it could be a minor incompatibility...

Should I upgrade from my '21 Model X

I'm going to sit tight with our current X. All the new stuff is cool, and I'd consider trading in if Tesla would allow us to transfer our FSD from one vehicle to another, but that is not going to happen. I'm envious of those who will get all the new features, but it has been my experience that...

Software update 2020.48.26.x update, font size problems

The Santa "Vehicle" is a toybox feature that can be toggled on or off. Our roads are currently snowpacked, so I haven't been able to test display changes for full self driving. The blue wheel indicator and speed limit sign have been moved, and the fonts are smaller. I'm guessing they are...

Constant cycling of charging (every few sec)

Good news. I installed firmware 2020.48.12.1 yesterday afternoon and my car charged normally coming out of sleep this morning. I'll need a couple more days of testing to make sure the problem is solved, but I'm hopeful. At least I didn't have to open a door this morning in order to get the...

Constant cycling of charging (every few sec)

Yes, I tested the voltage at the charger plug when the Tesla display was cycling between 0 and 187 volts. The voltage at the the plug was a constant 231 volts. When I pop the trunk hatch, the car will charge as normal at 40 amps, and the voltage settles at around 230 volts. I'm wondering how...

Constant cycling of charging (every few sec)

Just checking back in to see if Tesla was able to resolve the issue for you. The Tesla Tech that remotely ran diagnostics on my car said the car checked out fine, so he/she is convinced that it is my charger or electrical source, but I'm certain that is not the case. The reason I'm certain...

Constant cycling of charging (every few sec)

I agree with you. The first time I noticed it was when I was in the garage after the car had sat for a couple of days. I could hear a relay clicking on and off. Who knows how long that had been going on, and it can't be good for whatever is clicking on and off. I only discovered the heater...

Constant cycling of charging (every few sec)

I am having some unusual charging issues with our 2021 X as well. Mine charges fine if I plug it in and charge right after driving the car. If I delay the charge, or if the cars sits for a day or two and the bms tries to top off the battery, it will go through a process similar to what you...

2021 Model X, Monroney Sticker Range Increase

Interesting. I've been looking at my data, but from the charging information. I charged from 38% to 80% yesterday and Tesla indicated 42.7 kwh added. So 42.7 kwh / 42% = 101.6 kwh. I plan to do this for the next few charging cycles and see how they compare. Any readers out there with a scan...

32% drop in range (winter in MN)

First of all, don't panic, or over think this, unless of course your daily commute is over 200 miles. I've had 3 winters under my belt with a 2017 100D in Northwest Wyoming. I've said for a long time, its the best winter car I've ever owned, as long as the trips are less than 200 miles. My...

Biggest difference with my new X

We have had our new 308XXX vin Model X for a week now, replacing a pre Raven 100D after 53,000 miles and 3 years of ownership. Over 240,000 model X's have rolled off the line between our two cars. I love the idea that our "slightly used" Tesla will now go to another family who might not be...

I went out and took a measurement for you. The suspension is at standard height and the seat is set for my preference (5'8"). My measurement is 27.5 inches from the ground to the top of the side bolster. If I raise the seat to it's highest position, the measurement increases to 29 inches...

Yep, 40.4.5 does the trick. I just installed it and my car is charged to 83% / 309 miles. Extrapolating gives 372. Yahoo! Even if it is smoke and mirrors, I'm happy. Release notes below:

I think I can rule out a heat pump. I did a test this morning. 1. Slow charged the car at 9 kw for about an hour to warm up the battery 2. Stopped the charging 3. Turned on the cabin heat then watched the display to see how much current was being fed into the car 4. The garage was around...

2021 Model X Long Range + Has Pedestrian Warning

The forward and reverse noise is different. The reverse is louder, changes pitch as the speed changes, and is always on as long as the car is in R. The forward noise is hard to describe, sort of like a "rush" sound mixed with an electric motor. I'm pretty sure it is the same as on the 3. The...

2021 Model X, Monroney Sticker Range Increase

That is a good question, but I don't have an answer. There is a mystery however, as I noticed that the driving menu no longer has the option for "range mode". Was that removed from the pervious Ravens or is this unique to the 2021's?

Wisconsin: buy a Model X, fears

I have a 2017 X 100D (pre raven, EPA 295 miles when new). We have had it almost 3 years and have driven over 53,000 miles. I haven't regretted a minute owning or driving this car. While it has its quirks and limitations, the positives outweigh the negatives. As far as winter goes, it is the...

Wisconsin: buy a Model X, fears

My 100D X would not make it 230 miles at -20F. I have a similar situation trying to reach the first supercharger from my home on I-80. It is 209 miles and there are no other options for charging along that route. I tried it once in the winter at -10 F, dove for 60 miles with no heat (coat...

    Palladium Model X

At the top of my list is longer winter range. 450 mile EPA range would equate to a comfortable 300 mile winter range. The FW doors are great in my opinion, but if they eliminated them on the next version in order to reduce the price or reduce the weight, I'm OK with that. As far as interior...

Model X Wannabe: How to convince the wife?

If she won't go for a test ride, I'd say your chances of convincing her are pretty slim. The X is a very expensive car and most people just can't get past the price. If she has any environmental tendencies, then I would work on that angle. It is much easier making the leap if she has any...

Tesla Model X vs Lexus 450h

I've never owned a Lexus, but I've owned several Audi's, Volvo's, Subaru's, and Mazda's. If you have driven both cars and still can't decide on which one is better, then buy the Lexus. When I bought our 2017 X100, I did so because I wanted to move on from gas cars and have a taste of the...

Raven vs. non-raven: huge difference, or not?

Just as a reference point, my 2017 X100 with 51,000 miles has about 5% range loss. I think that is pretty typical degradation for my mileage and time. I haven't driven a Raven, but I've sure been thinking about upgrading. As other have noted, the Raven comes standard with many features that...

    Supercharger - Casper (Evansville) WY

This is great news, but I wish Tesla would add a Supercharger in Riverton so that it would make it easier to drive from the Jackson WY supercharger to Casper. It's 287 miles and just not possible without stopping for a slow charge for 4 hours at the Black Bear Inn in Dubois or the Breadboard...
