    “Dumb” cruise control?

I think you guys are oversimplifying the problem that removal of radar is the issue. I have an early VIN Model Y with radar and it still regularly phantom brakes, most often on curved areas of the road where I think radar accounts for a lot of false positive collision events. I agree that Tesla...

Windshield wiper fluid smell with windows closed

Hi folks- Can anyone else smell the windshield wiper fluid inside the cabin when it is utilized, with the windows closed? I'm unsure whether I have some kind of seal issue, or whether there is an air intake somewhere around there that I shouldn't be concerned about. -Thanks

Help me to decide: M3 LR or MY LR

Tesla fit and finish problems are well documented, and to be expected at this point in their quality journey. It's just something you have to be ok with, and have a willingness to sort of just pummel the local service center until they become satisfactory. At the end of the day though, it's a...

    Vision-only cars

I had read somewhere this summer that Tesla also switched to microcontrollers to deal with some of the chip shortage issues, so now there are likely even more hw/sw variants that need to be accommodated and accounted for (with likely quality differences) in releases.

Tesla releases big, new software update with Disney+, Car Wash Mode, remain connected to wifi, and more - 2021.24.x

Maybe not the same people? Try living in the midwest and not using an automated car wash!

Tesla releases big, new software update with Disney+, Car Wash Mode, remain connected to wifi, and more - 2021.24.x

Do you have to be in "park" to enable car wash mode? I went to try this at the car wash and it was grayed out, and didn't want to fiddle with it so did my car wash the old-fashioned way. Noticed when I had my car parked at home that the feature was available.

    Very Dim Backup/Reverse Lights?

It would be nice if Tesla actually spent some manpower working on things like this--a safety issue--vs. things like car wash mode which are just fancy macros.

There are no words - Irresponsible driver crashes Model Y into building

I'll never buy a car from a dealer who insists on riding along. It's an awkward and terrible purchasing experience.

Day 365! Who is still in love with their Y? Who's fallen out of love? Why?

15 months and only 4,570 miles (Lol...thanks pandemic) on my LR VIN 24XX. I've had so many stupid little issues along the way, but this is by far my favorite car I've ever owned... including my late 2001 Trans Am with T-tops. Every time I step on the accelerator, I smile. It's a friggin' blast.

Help me to decide: M3 LR or MY LR

Get a Y. It will keep working for you through whatever phase of life you happen to be in. Great car. Much more utility than a 3.

Mud flap effectiveness after 1.5k miles (or lack of)

I feel this. May as well just wrap the whole car a different color in a few years, change things up!

Successfully selling acceleration boost to my wife.

Acceleration Boost totally worth it! So much fun to blow everyone off the line. Every little bit helps :D

Is Phantom Braking Still a Problem?

Interesting approach. I will try it. I don't seem to have any luck with the reports though... have probably filed speed limit bugs 50X around my area and nothing ever changes. I probably sound like a debbie downer which sucks because I LOVE this car. It's just--you know--great to actually just...

Is single peice casting a good or bad thing?

Mine WAS like that. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and when I got my insurance from Progressive it was only about $20 more per month. But... then the renewal "offer" came in which raised the insurance about another $50/mo. Clean driving record, garage, all the stuff. I then angrily shopped for...

    Model Y replacement windshield issues

Take it back, and keep taking it back until someone helps you. I had my Y in for a rattle literally 6 times before they got sick of me and brought in The Wolf. No more rattle. Annoy them until they fix it :)

Is Phantom Braking Still a Problem?

I have phantom braking literally every day. Shadows on a curved road are autopilot's nemesis, along with thousands of other scenarios that I encounter all the time. I honestly can't believe people are paying $10K for FSD. It's just silly... so completely far away from useful. There are probably...

Model Y Seatbelt Guides in Rear Seats

Has anyone found a creative solution to this problem yet? I have the same problem of the rear seat belt buckles banging against the sides of the car.

Talk me out of the new Model S refresh

I've got an early VIN LR Y and I have had the "pleasure" of driving several S variants while Tesla worked out the kinks. If you happen to have any sort of back issues (like me), and/or are tall (like me--6'4") getting in and out of the S is an absolute chore. I have to contort my whole body to...

    $2,000 Upgrade for Dual Motor

That said, it is AWESOME. I had some minor regrets not shelling out for the performance model, but with $2K getting me halfway there I now feel like I won. :p

    Model Y ride comfort?

I agree @dragonvn I do not understand the harsh critics either. My VIN is 002458 and yes the suspension is not great but it’s by no means a deal breaker. I’m coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and used to take the local dirt roads at 40 MPH after they’d been carpet-bombed by winter...

    To FSD or not..

As a software guy, I will take the exact opposite stance of DriveMe, above, in that I think it will progress more slowly than people anticipate. It has an awful long way to go in terms of reliability--my experience (opinion) is that Autosteer still basically sucks. My Tesla phantom brakes at...

20" Induction Wheels Now Included On Stealth Performance Y

Well that sucks. I would have sprung for the non-PUP performance model.

Model Y vs Model X: interior and comfort

My Y rides very nice on the 20" inductions. It rides softer than my friend's 3 with 19" sports.

    Backseat rear panel coming loose..

Just FYI- Service acknowledged that engineering is working on a fix for the rear middle seat rattling, and they would update me and fix it once a solution is identified.

    Backseat rear panel coming loose..

They've created a few on mine too. Today they are replacing a piece of interior trim that they scratched while trying to fix the seat, and whenever the collision shop opens up for non-essential repairs they'll be paying for some door jamb paint repair they scuffed up as well.

    Backseat rear panel coming loose..

My Y is currently in service now for the 3rd time for the middle seat rattle. They replaced the back, then they made some adjustment to the headrest, but so far no permanent solutions. It's at its worst when the headrest is fully down and the cup holder/armrest is in the stowed position. Rattles...

Interesting. I have a homelink install scheduled for the 4th so I’ll just add this to the list.

Driver side window closed by itself before entry - trim damage

This happen to anyone? I Opened the door and got in the car just fine but apparently the window control bugged out and rolled itself back up before closing and damaged the frame. Thoughts? Did I do something wrong?

Tesla Model Y - Auto Insurance

Interesting twist. I tried to execute securing the progressive quote but my VIN is not yet in their system despite me having the car since 4/1, so they said they couldn't issue it. Anyone have this problem?

It puzzles me why Tesla cannot get quality control right?

Every manufacturer does the exact same thing, and people have impossibly high expectations of Tesla. 1st model year cars and especially the first 5-10,000 off the line are littered with issues and everything is "fixed" post-production, regardless of make. These cars are often extensively tore...

Tesla Model Y - Auto Insurance

I got a phone quote from Progressive for $545 vs Ameriprise $822, and that's without bundling on the Progressive quote. Shop around, people. My Allstate quote was higher than Ameriprise.

My model y hatch won’t reverse when hitting something. It this a service problem just on my car

I just tried it with my shoe because I'm not as brave as you. It compressed the shoe a bit--didn't appear to be forceful--and stopped. Didn't pop back up / reverse, but did release the pressure and I could move it manually.

Tesla Model Y - Auto Insurance

My ameriprise experience was not good, WAY more expensive than my grand cherokee priced similarly. More like $800 for 6 months. But I am in MI so our rates are murder. But 2017 Grand Cherokee... $541. Wife's 2019 Tahoe: $656. Model Y: $822. I'll be shopping around.

Model Y - back seat's small rattle noise

I have the same issue. Just diagnosed today with the same differing rattling sounds in both positions. Mobile service came out and they were unable to resolve it. Fit and finish issues

Mobile service came out today. They said they secured the back of my middle seat but it’s still just basically dangling there. Did not fix the rattle in the middle seat assembly. I had my wife drive me around and I think has to do with the headrest. If you put it up there is a loud rattle at...

    Heater Stopped Working

Lots of goofy stuff has happened to me. My passenger pillar camera stopped working, my phone stopped working, some other crazy things. A reboot has fixed everything each time. I think there are a lot of software bugs still to be ironed out.

Rear Seats - Not Aligned on Delivery

To be clear mine are still a little misaligned after adjusting. Maybe a half inch... probably half as much as yours appears. It feels to me like the middle seat is just janky.
