    Charging at work

Okay, Tesla, let's scrub this a little.

    Charging at work

I have the same problem. This new Charge Stats section of the app is a wonderful concept to measure usage -- the first I've seen in 9+ years of Model S ownership. But, like you, my app, inflexibly and precisely, classifies my Work charging as Other. Another wrinkle for me is that the app...

    Supercharger - Rolling Prairie, IN

This is a huge development -- notably on the Indiana Toll Road where the Big-Oil partnership with state government has been rigid and unyielding. But there are national takeaways: 1. The pit-stop simplicity of rest-area refueling can save almost two hours on a family trip between, say...

    The argument *against* a 2nd gen Model S & X

Elon and Franz have to be elated that their original Model S design and engineering have held up so well. My guess is the Model S will get its first major upgrade (since 2012) as soon as the first wave of major all-electric competition has been launched and evaluated. Tesla must be -- or...

    Chicago trip advice?

Can anyone confirm the status of the Grand Ave Supercharger now that the Chicago Service Center relocated to Elston Ave in November 2019? I see no indication of a shutdown at supercharge.info.

    Supercharger - Angola IN

I visited the Angola, Indiana, Supercharger this morning in my Model S with 36 miles estimated range remaining. I backed into the nearest charger (sixth of six), labeled 2B and began charging. Because this charger was only logging at about 70 kW and 80 mi/hr of charging, I moved left all the...

    Imminent.

Annual license plate renewal fees - how much in your state?

An interesting wrinkle in Illinois was that since at least 2013 you could pay what's now $35 for two years of non-customizable electric plates versus a base of $101 each year for regular passenger plates -- an obvious reward for being environmentally responsible. But it was optional; and if you...

My credit card fell in the center console and now I can't get it out!!!

I stopped by the Chicago service center when it happened to me, and they popped it out in a few seconds. That doesn't discount the larger design issue, but at least it's an easy fix -- and an incentive to keep anything slimmer than an iPhone atop the console.

    Supercharger - Dublin, OH

A quick update for beleaguered Ohioans who feel like they're being picked on: Now that the new Atlanta supercharger is open, Sawmill is the only Tesla Supercharger still under construction in an even more colossal rectangle -- starting at the North Pole, heading down to Palm Springs CA...

    Supercharger - Dublin, OH

I'm hoping to charge here as I drive through Ohio this coming Saturday the 25th. And it's interesting that if you draw a line from the North Pole down to Palm Springs, all the way across to Baltimore, and then back to the North Pole, the only Tesla Supercharger currently under construction --...

    Supercharger - Angola IN

On the otherwise wonderful supercharger.info website, I just clicked on the Angola IN 'discuss' button and got Mishawaka IN instead. Does anybody know who to contact to get supercharger.info to fix that link -- Angola's an early, funky, sometimes maddening Supercharger location that deserves a...

Tesla featured on Curb Your Enthusiasm

One of my biggest complaints during 4+ years in a Model S was a pivotal plot point in tonight's "Curb Your Enthusiasm". You'll have to watch it, but Larry was driving Ted Danson's new red Model S, stopped behind a police cruiser, when the light changed. Somebody in the writer's room must own...

Tesla Destination Chargers in Millennium Lakeside Garage

Great news for Chicago visitors (if supercharge.info is to be believed) -- a 10-stall Supercharger is being built in the Aqua/Radisson Blu parking garage south of the Chicago River near Millennium Park. A superb location.

    Please Fix the New Clock!

As much as I promoted the new v7.0 sweep-hand clock, the execution is a disappointment. It's attractive in a minimalist Georg Jensen sort of way, and the sweep hand seems accurate to the second. That's good. And I assume its accurate. But why on earth would you put a redundant digital clock...

Anyone Have Experience with Gold Coast Auto Body in Chicago?

Yes, they're good. Ask for Mitch, or any of the Martinos.

    Chicago Supercharger!

This was just posted on the other forum. Whoa, do my eyes deceive me or does the "Coming Soon" section of the new Supercharger Map show a bright red dot smack in the middle of Chicago? Where did that come from? More important, where do you think it's going? Even more important, when is it...

    Supercharger - Worthington, MN

To J and Vexar: Reading your posts is a kind of tonic for me. Your caring and nurturing comments seem to reflect a certain Minnesota state of mind -- so supportive and encouraging, and I think people like you! They also remind me a little of Liesl and Rolfe the Mailman in "The Sound of Music"...

Anyone with Chicagoland car detail experience?

Unassuming little We Wash III (452 North Halsted, Chicago 60622, 312-666-3011, We Wash III - Chicago) does all the prep for Tesla Chicago and detailing for Mercedes-Benz of Chicago. I'd ask the Chicago Service Center about CQuartz or Opti-Coat, but the nice thing about We Wash III is there's a...

Texas Law Change: $200 Fine for No Front License Plate

    Madison, WI Supercharger

And now there's the new Supercharger in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (just over the Illinois border off I-94), due "before the end of the year." This means the first quick-charge big-city getaways for Chicago and Milwaukee owners. This will be the first home-and-home Supercharger link for MLB...

How Can I Limit -- or Select -- the Contacts I Download into My Model S?

I have an iPhone 4S, running iOS 6.1.3. I've seen the thread about a five-phone-number limit, and a cursory look at my current Tesla Sync list hasn't yet shown a card that exceeds five numbers. But what I liked about reducing my 1400+ cards to a 380-card Tesla Sync group is how my Contacts...

Argelius: Questions before placing my order.... tell me what I should change!

Let me reinforce the panoramic roof choice. If you're tall or ever expect to have taller people (especially in the back seat) with you, you'll be forever grateful for the recesses created by the panoramic roof. Welcome to our Chicago family.

How Can I Limit -- or Select -- the Contacts I Download into My Model S?

Many thanks to DaveVa. I followed the iLounge tip, created a new Tesla Group in my Mac's Contacts, filled it with the Cards I wanted, checked only the Tesla Group in iPhone's Settings>Bluetooth>Tesla S device to sync, ran out to the car, connected>disconnected>connected, and the logjam went...

How Can I Limit -- or Select -- the Contacts I Download into My Model S?

I have 1400. The data file must be larger than usual, perhaps because my Notes sections contain lots of, well, notes. I wonder if I can archive a bunch of my Contacts through the Apple program itself.

How Can I Limit -- or Select -- the Contacts I Download into My Model S?

My Model S stopped downloading all the Contacts from my iPhone at the letter "J". I assume this is a capacity issue, since I have lots of Contacts and phone numbers for each. But my strong preference would be to cherry-pick the individual Contacts I want in the car anyway -- and if possible...

    5 iPhone 4Ss, 1 PowerMac, 3 iMacs, 3 MacBooks, 1 MacBook Air, 2 iPads, 3 iPods, 1 Apple TV, 1 Time Capsule, 1 Tesla. Whew.

    Supercharger - Normal, IL

A tangential question for vbsdan: As I look at the "Fall 2013" Supercharger map, it seems like the next south-of-Chicago location is near Lafayette, Indiana. Any indications on the ground as to where that installation might go?

    Rockford, IL Supercharger

Rockford would be the first step to connecting Chicago (and points east) with Minneapolis (and points west). Kind of like Normal is the first step from Chicago to St. Louis (and points south and southwest). The gaps really need to fill in quickly for Superchargers to work as-designed between...

Can Money-Saving Driving Monitors Be Installed in the Model S for Insurance Purposes?

Many insurance companies offer discounts for customers who permit electronic monitors (through the OBD-II diagnostic port) on many newer vehicles -- discounts can reach up to 30% because the vehicle reports safe and responsible driving, taking the hedge out of their risk calculations. My...
