I noticed today that my Frunk has a slight dent where I usually do the second tap to latch it. Anyone else? I've been super careful because it does feel a bit flimsy.

If they give the 85k (which is likely), you must return the battery, or they will charge you the difference. That being said, as a 40k owner...I will most likely NOT upgrade since the cost of the swap is minor, compared to the $15k or so upgrade fee w/super charging. I would only take about...

Question: If you do a battery swap, what battery will you be getting? 40k = 40k Battery 60k = 60k Battery 85k = 85k Battery Or does everyone get the 85k ?

The "discount" ends on 6/30. Will you be upgrading? Waiting/hoping for a better discount? No upgrade? I'm still on the fence, but may pull the trigger.

After driving my 40 for about a month now, I don't think the $10k is worth it for the additional mileage. I also agree that down the line, they will cut the price lower and lower. It's free money to them at this point. The current "sale" is to juice their #'s. And BTW, I think they'll kill it...

Reviving this old thread. I'm going to a hotel next week and would like to plug into the AC outlet (NEMA 6-20 240V, 20A). What is the easiest way to do this? Is there nothing "off the shelf" I can purchase to use as an adapter?

Agreed, $11k isn't really worth the extra few miles. I will be taking a 120+ mile trip soon, and I will report the details. Right now my usage is crazy as I am driving it as I stole the car - way too fun

Just rec'd the car yesterday, and It's amazing. Few "New Driver" questions: How do I unlock the doors when I'm inside the car? I know I can do this via the touch screen, but is there another way? Today, I scheduled the software updated after I plugged in at Chargepoint, only for the charge...

Picked up my 40 this AM...amazeballs. Super happy with the car. Had 135 on it when picked up, 111 left after going to work (about 13 miles real world) and abused the car many times. Happy with the range!

Has anyone had a chance to test the range on the 40 yet? I will be getting mine on Weds, and will try to test this coming long weekend.

End of May was my delivery date based on my Res, which is in the 10,400's (July 2012) = Almost 1 yr!! :smile:

I personally would not upgrade past 1-2 years, unless Tesla discounted the upgrade yearly. Us 40k folks can range charge as much as we want with out any large consequence (from what I gather on the forum). No need to spend another 11k after a few years. Might as well sell the 40 and buy a...

I agree, so either they are bound by law to test the EPA for the 40's (don't know if this is the case), or they just bypass that, claim the 160 miles, and allow the 40's to "secretly" gain more KwH (42-44kwh) to ensure they get the 160 rated. Thoughts?

Will they ever test the 40K's EPA range? Don't they have to even if they are giving us the 60K, limiting us to a 40K battery? I presume they need to do this before starting deliveries.

I was told over the phone that the 40K's (aka 60's) are slated to be produced in April, delivery by mid-end of May. I'm glad to be the 4%!
