Utility Rate Plans Where are they?

I just set mine up. I was getting tired of setting my alarm to change my peak hours….

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Hi Jay did you end up switching to the E-15 plan? I can’t seem to wrap my head around why it would be better. I have very small demand hits every so often, but nothing more than 1kw a month. I guess I would need to see some higher demand charges for that plan to make an impact? I will say...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Yeah I think the Tesla app has some gaps...perhaps someone else might know why it is different because I hardly look at usage as it doesn’t match. I really only care about how much battery I have left and what my currently kWh discharge rate is.

Let me try this again from the Tesla App. It seems different than what I see on SRP.... The July data might be more confusing than its worth since its only 16 days of service. Jun 2020 All Usage Home Usage 2347 kWh Solar Energy 1466 kWh Powerwall 440 kWh From Grid 1175 kWh To Grid 251 kWh...

I have an 8kw system with 2 batteries 3000sqft home with 2,14 seer ac units. I will say it does get tight some days especially on days it gets over 110 degrees. I wish I would of gotten the 3rd powerwall, but do I really need it? Not really and it would be more so I don't have to check the app...

    Grid Charge Powerwall with Solar

Just an FYI to all the folks curious about charging from the grid. I did manage to get Tesla to admit if I sent a letter saying I wasn’t going to claim my tax credit that they would forward it to the appropriate folks to see about allowing me to charge from the grid. I got the impression she...

    Grid Charge Powerwall with Solar

Thanks Fonzi. I agree I did not have the most confident person on the line as it bugs me when people are afraid to say I don't know. They instead make things up on the fly or repeat the same message without backing it up with facts. I will give the Tesla rep a thumbs up for at least trying as...

    Grid Charge Powerwall with Solar

Well after 45mins and 3 transfers I got no where with Tesla turning on my powerwalls to grid charge let alone telling me the exact rule/regulation. They would not even say it’s an internal policy, Tesla just keep quoting the ITC regulation lol. Which I promptly relied yup I won’t file then do...

    Grid Charge Powerwall with Solar

Interesting thread, I might forgo the tax credit of $6300 in lieu of being able to charge from the grid in the evening. All I need to do is call Tesla and tell them I want grid charging turned on since Tesla did my install? Do I need to provide documentation that I did/will not request the tax...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Out of curiosity has anyone added an additional battery to their current system after they have already had powerwalls installed? I’m curious of what Tesla charges for installation. I see its $7600 on the website, but it doesn’t include everything. Thanks

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

Ok, I set up my smart hub using and tested it last night. Worked wonderfully, I had 82% left when I woke up this morning at 4:45am to check on the program. I did notice my projected SRP bill went up $5, but it might have been a coincidence...I really like my $65 electric bills. I only set up...

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I originally had a demand controller on my house prior getting batteries. Once I got my batteries Tesla removed it and it has been sitting on my desk since I didn’t think it would work with the batteries. Out of the blue I emailed the company to see if it work with the batteries. Meaning turn...

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I just ordered my smart hub and will be testing out your program Darwin. I’m a bit excited because I have had to turn on the heat in the house and I'm scrapping by to get to 8am when the solar kicks on due to the powerwall powering the house during the off peak hours :-( If it wouldn’t run all...

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

My response was in regards to the original post by Dan saying he couldn’t cover 2 peak periods effectively. I was just curious what was different between him and I. Mine works and he seems to have an issue covering 1 large demand period.

Powerwall Time-Based with 2 peak periods

I’m bit confused because I have 2 peak periods 5-9am and 5-9pm and I have my peak period set from 5am-9am with no issues. The solar panels (8kw) charges my powerwalls (2) and runs the house with no issues. I also notice the powerwalls managing the house power after 2am and running from the...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

I paid $16000k to re-paper my roof and a few other things before I added solar. My home is 25 years old and 2800 soft, so I figured I did not have much of a choice. I’m not sure why you can’t back up your AC units perhaps I missed it, but I have mine backup with no issues.

No issues with tesla, my issue is with SVSS not waiting my money lol. I just want to max my inverter to 130%, but to get the sales guy to answer an email without me having to follow up via a phone call is my first complaint:mad:. My 2nd complaint is the pricing to add additional panels is...

I am only using 2-8pm for my peek period. The rest is set to off peak. When I travel/not working from home everything works as advertised but it's due to my ecobee's going away mode at 80 deg. I like to keep it nice an cool when I'm home... As for extra panels, I hit up SVSS every couple...

TBC with Two Peak TOU periods

I would recommend more solar and 3PW. It's going to be a pain to charge those 4PW up every day. I have 7.7kw and it takes on average 5-6hrs to charge 2 of them.. I don't think you will fully eliminate your demand with that setup, but hey I've been wrong lots before.

It’s been about 1 month with my powerwall and I figured I would post an update on the performance and my thoughts. I have 2 powerwalls and 7.7kw solar system 2 AC units (14 seer older units) and a 2800 sqft home. AC is set to 78 all day. Powerwall set to TBC cost savings 10% reserve. I...

You have a couple options. Connect via your WiFi if they hook it up, I had to ask. Then you will need to figure out the IP address on your router and type that into your browser. The other option is to connect via the cellphone WiFi signal should show as TEG-XX and type in 192.168.91.1 in your...

The delay was SRP and the holiday. Tesla never set up the app and told me it was possible until the unit was commissioned.... My workaround is working now, so I’ll give them a few days to get back to me. Once they install your batteries turn them on and access it via webpage while you wait...

Well finally got my Powerwalls turned on, took forever. Still can’t access it via the app but I ran the website 192.168.91.1 wizard and set it up that way for now. Help ticket submitted. Currently ran 2 AC units and 1 huge electric hot water tank that I should replace. 12kw and it ran with...

Got it working via 192.168.91.1, however, it's in backup mode so it is little use to me since I can't see it in the app to make any changes. I turned the unit off via the website for now. Inspection is on 6/14.

Well they complete the install and verified it was OK. I was pulling 1kw from the battery with both ACs running, I might reinstall my demand manager until I get comfortable with the system lol. He powered it off and left for the day, but to my luck he left his meter installed, so I just...

I went with Tesla since I wasn’t in a huge hurry, but talking with the team they seemed very busy. I asked for the panels to be higher, however, the lift couldn’t reach and nobody was interested in a safety incident today :D You can see the amount of hardware on the side of my house and the...

    Solar in AZ timeline

Currently in the process of getting my powerwall installed today. Yesterday was the main panel upgrade etc. and boy does SRP have a lot of requirements. About 5ft of my wall is all electric boxes! Looks pretty ridiculous but there was nothing I could do. They also cut some stucco out behind...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

There is no game to the system with SRP and to be honest I doubt Sun Valley vs Tesla would be much of a difference. It’s pretty upfront in SRP territory on what to expect if you do your homework. I would go with the cheapest option that made sense. Solar panels are a commodity, so at the end...

    Justifying powerwall cost

Not sure if this is a valid statement of practical free, but the $3600 does help a lot with the $21k cost of installation of 2 powerwalls. As for the tax credit we shall see if I can reach the new write off threshold this year to take advantage of that credit. The ROI is still much longer...

Here is what I received from Tesla today. Increased incentive of $300 per kWh of storage capacity, up to a max of $3,600 will be effective on May 1, 2019. Customers whose applications have been approved, but yet to be installed will qualify for the increased incentive of $3,600 as long as they...

The credit is there but as mentioned above SRP voted on 3/25 to increase the battery incentive from $1800 to $3600. It is supposed to go into effect 5/1, but Tesla could not tell me if they submitted my paperwork now what incentive I would be entitled too. We can assume $3600, but I’ll just...

Interesting I didn't think the $3600 was going in to effect so quickly. I'll need to point that out to Tesla as I'm in paperwork process of the install. Thanks!

Tesla Power Wall 2 Install Cost

I have a similar quote of just under $21k for 2 powerwalls. Seems the excess is going to panel upgrade... I plan to ask more question when the time comes for installation since I already have a 200amp panel does it really need to be upgraded.

What is the current lead time for Power Wall installation?

Placed an order 2 weeks ago after sitting on it for months and was contacted this week to start the paperwork process. No idea on a firm timeline and frankly not in a huge hurry as I hate giving money away. If I had to guess the timeline I figured end of May/June time frame. FYI this is in Az

While I don't have my powerwalls installed yet, they did contact me this week to start the process. I purchased 2 for just the reason you mentioned regarding TOU rates. I don't believe 1 powerwall would support my 2 "older" heat pumps that I plan to upgrade in the near future and still even...

    Phoenix Heat

We have had our car through 2 summers in PHX with no battery issues or range lose. The car seems to manage the heat quite well and after 2 years full charge reads 256. I have heard the cooling system kick on in the garage when plugged in and I could of sworn I have heard it on when parked...

    Saving $40,000

I would say it's a little on how the car sits, but mostly the area between the edge of the rim and the wheel well it just doesn't look right to me. As for the potholes the roads aren't too bad in Az and I ride on a low profile tire setup on my car with no issues to date... I figure worst case...
