Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I leased my car as I just don’t trust Tesla quality. In 3 years there will be more options and unless QC improves it will be my last.
My delivery experience was crap. Staff very nice. FindIng a windshield issue with a 2 foot opaque line over the drivers line of sight with 0 guarantee it would...
A lower price will lead to increased adoption and more users and revenue. proced too high too few get it in my humble opinion
I am surprised Tesla has not introduced subscription model already for EAP/FSD. I would expect a moderate revenue stream and help their profits
I avoided FSD due to $7k...
Is everyone seeing this experience on Sept 30. On my Tesla account there was no date the update was going away.
Personally I would like to try as subscription first then buy at $4k if it’s worth it.
I will agree very disappointed at blind spot performance. There should be a camera option to...
Personally the EQ on the model 3 needs more bands to optimize the sound.
But don’t forget the quality of recording plays a huge role as well.
I use Spotify mostly and from one song to the next the quality varies a lot
Dang sad how many make excuses for Tesla and their CS.
I like my Model 3 but not obsessed with it or Tesla
I have no problem calling a spade a spade.
Their CS overt subpar as compared to luxury brands that are at their price point
Umm. Proper CS is essential long term and even short term. having good after sales support is a must.
I have to admit I am very worried getting a Tesla was a bad move based on my CS experience and how they provide post sales support
Wow great price. I called multiple places and price ranges from $750-1700 depending how far the has to run the wires. I did not go with Tesla wall charger from Tesla just a 240/50A plug
I have a June 2020 Model 3 LR AWD.
Coming from 2018 BMW 340i
Tesla had better improve quality control and stop removing features in $50k car. It won’t be long before it will catch up. The American car manufactures screwed up in late 70/80s with QC and paid a terrible price
my windshield...
Sorry... maybe I wasn’t clear.
now they offer model 3 performance for 8K with extra features or without. Why pay 8K and not get the extra features and if you want 18in wheels and tires swap or sell the 20in wheels and tires. Wouldn’t you want the better brakes, spoiler and brake/gas pedal...
Yikes. I can’t believe a person would pay 8K for performance option and not get the added features. That’s nuts. If you don’t want the larger wheel and tires sell them to offset the upgrade cost
The problem with Tesla lease is the interest rate/money factor. The rates are 5.6%.
I have leased BMWs for 17yrs. Never heard of 1% rule.
The bottom line on leases is residual value, money factor and then negotiated car price. BMW in the past was very generous on the residual value.
leases...
I am not sure, I fully understand how performance changes in an EV as the “ tank “ gets closer to empty.
obviously in ICE the performance at full tank vs 1/4 tank of gas there is no difference.
how does acceleration and responsiveness change with lower battery charge?
Does it affect steering...
I have lived in different states with State Farm and have these kind of issues. Comprehensive claims have never raised my rates.
I have you experienced a comprehensive claim raising auto insurance rates?
This should go under your comprehensive part of your insurance. With State Farm this has no effect in your rates. You do have to pay your deductible which may be more than the repair?
So you performance model 3 or LR AWD? You feel it handles maybe a little less than your Boxster. Wow now I’m convinced those handle much better than my 340.
Or have I misread your post ?
TIA
Great responses thank you. Handling on the twisty roads is my old other concern
while the 340i is not perfect it feels nicer on those twisties.
just saw there might ?? Be an air(adaptive) suspension for the model 3. I hope this happens fast lol
Very interesting comment. The varied opinion on handling to me is interesting.
Some have stated the handle/cornering compares well vs sports cars like 3 series BMW and others not so much. Appears very subjective
I have 2018 340i, handling is nice from but not as good as some older 3 series...
It appears passing power is just fine and I get at higher speeds the high performance ICE cars can pull away.
I saw recent test of the 911(can’t recall if it was turbo) vs Model3. 0-60 model3 was amazing. Even in the quarter mile( I think that was it) model3 won 1 out of the 3.
Better at...
Got it. So passing performance is not an issue, it will feel different but perform as well.
Thanks everyone
Now I have to wait to get closer to end of lease in Aug....time to move to Model 3 from BMW.
Just wish they had a HUD
Sorry, I should have stated the LR AWD and likely the accel boost software.
I have considered the Model 3 Performance model but the larger wheels/tires are not something I am keen on. I have 19in wheels on my 340i(RFT) lost 2 tires with minor pot holes here in Tampa area and the lower profile...
I know the Model 3 has incredible off the line acceleration.
I wonder how the passing performance is? I currently own a 2018 BMW 340i. The power at passing speeds 60-90 is impressive.
How would the Model 3 perform? Compare?
TIA
Wow that residual seems high but that means lower amount your paying during the term of the lease. Too bad interest rate is so high but still seems like a good lease deal.
What’s the residual for 36 mo?
Thx. I went back and read earlier posts in the thread and realize the software upgrade is not as good as a Stealth Model 3. Hopefully there will be more made
Ok. Im an idiot sorry so this software upgrade is not the same as a stealth/sleeper model since the motors on the rear may not be 980. So the software upgrade is not as good of a deal as a true stealth.
I’m sorry I had read back several pages to see this was addressed.
I was at Tesla in Tampa today and test drove a Model 3 and asked about Stealth/sleeper Model 3. The sales person indicated “in late Dec” a change was made and you will now be able to add performance upgrade to Dual Motor Long range AWD after delivery for $2k. In fact he said you will be able to...
