Supercharger - Upland, CA (under construction Jan 2024, 64 V3 stalls)

I live in Claremont. This is great. Where are the vaults for the 2 transformers in the pictures ? Large, need 8 MW each. Does that mean transformers don’t show above ground level ? A favorable reason for this location is that there is a high voltage spur line that feeds a sub station just to...

Model S/X missing Model 3/Y 3D aerial display view

Yes, the small GPS display behind the steering wheel has been 3D seemingly forever, including on my first MS, a 2013. Once when I was driving up a ridge and approached the top, it showed sky beyond the ridge line.

Model S/X missing Model 3/Y 3D aerial display view

I Drive a 2018 100D MS with HW3 upgrade and FSD. Until recently I believed that Model S/X Displays the GPS map same as model 3/Y, but a rep at my Tesla Sevice Center confirmed to me that this is not true for the following case: When the GPS map on S/X is set to compass mode, with the top of...

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

I May have left misleading impression from my October 3 post. I reported two long trenches, first for the HV to the charging pad, and From there to the charging stalls. My intent was to appreciate how much work had been done. I neglected to clarify that these trenches were all done, all covered...

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

When I was at the site October 3 there were no trenches. It appeared all the underground work was done. What was left was to install the three V3 tesla charging cabinets which were not on site, as well as the 12 Tesla charging stalls. The conduits for all of this were visible poking out of the...

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

Re: Convict Lake: It is a little out of your way but your best bet is to charge at Mammoth Lakes SC. It would also be wise to see if your lodge can find you an external L1 120V outlet to plug-in Overnight just to keep your battery warm

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

I got my photo to load. You can see how easy it is going to be for the utility to connect to high voltage from the sub Station across the alley using the coil of cable on the new Metal pole. For once we seem to be waiting for Tesla not the utility.

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

OK, Speight, thanks. I finally made it here. Air is much better, Fire smoke pretty much gone, at least right now, in morning. Long trenches, first from new HV utility pole to transformer, then from chargers to stalls around corner of Building. I see no progress since last photos. Utility pole...

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

Yes, great to see the transformer installed. Often the utility delays installing the transformer until everything else is done. It appears most of Trenching and conduit has been installed, waiting for the wiring Cables to be pulled. 12 V3 stalls requires 3 charger cabinets, 4 V3 per charger...

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

I just noticed on AirNow.gov that the smoke From the creek fire that started on the west side of the High Sierra above Fresno has now driven the air quality index for PM 10 to over 600 in Bishop. This is truly Hazardous for everyone. Hopefully the construction crew on this project is pausing...

If any readers of this thread are planning a trip up 395 soon, it would be great if you could stop by the construction site of the new Superchargers for Bishop, CA To take a few pictures of the progress. Please post the pictures to the thread Supercharger - Bishop, CA The address is 151 S...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, multiple expansions, 16 V3 stalls)

This morning my MS shows Inyokern SC 4 of 4 stalls available, and Lone Pine 8 of 8 available. I will need these, especially Lone Pine, in a few weeks. Thanks Tesla.

Trip advice, vicinity of Bishop, CA

The Creekside Inn in Bishop (at a very nice real creek) has 120v outlets spaced all around the building opposite the parking stalls. I believe they are there to keep ICE engines warm in the winter, but I have used them several times on different trips to get a little level one charge overnight...

Service in ABQ Seems to be Improving

This post is 8 months old. I am disappointed you got no responses. I am planning to drive my 2018 MS from Los Angeles to Albuquerque in late May or early June 2020. Since I will be talking to friends and family about Tesla, I am interested in hearing from Tesla owners in the Albuquerque area...

Charge port red after successful HPWC charge completion

Tdreamer, I have experienced very similar faults, about 6 total over the last few weeks, with red charge port appearing while charging on my HPWC. I am glad to hear I am not alone. Like you, these faults are occasional, and have only started occurring after the release of the firmware...

Supercharger - Anaheim, CA - East Katella Ave (LIVE 23 Dec 2019, 16 V3 stalls)

I have 2018 MS 100D, so max for me is 150 kw. At Kettleman City on their new V3 I got an initial peak of 144 kW with an initial SOC of about 25%. I have also gotten the same result briefly over 140 kW on a 150W V2 elsewhere that was not shared. A friend at Atascadero got only 80 kW max on his...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.50.x - Driving Visualization improvements, new voice commands, Camping Mode

Finally received and installed 2019.40.50.5 this evening. I followed instructions for enabling text Features, including reconnecting phone. Seamed to work, but I have seen the many warnings on this Thread that texting is unreliable. Possibly .5 version has better instructions at least for...

Has anyone with FSD received HW3 upgrade?

I had my 2018 MS upgraded to HW3 on December 9. I had gone into The new service center in Rancho Cucamonga one month earlier and asked about the upgrade. They looked up my Vin number and said it had been flagged for high priority upgrade. They scheduled the install One month out to allow time...

    Come here baby 2019.40.2.1

Yes an EV driver once told me that very thing happened, someone darting into the HOV lane in front of him illegally without looking, totaling his car but fortunately not injuring him. He was driving a LEAF, not a Tesla.

    Come here baby 2019.40.2.1

I think I have Scheduled Departure figured out. My primary interest is having the battery warmed, reconditioned, on cold mornings so that I don't see the dotted lines of reduced regeneration on the kW display when I first start driving in the morning. This is especially important when I am...

    Come here baby 2019.40.2.1

Thanks. With this guidance, I was able to confirm Stop Sign Warning works on my 2018 MS with new upgrade to HW 3.0. I had to find a stop sign on a road with very light traffic for safety, but also center line markings so that Auto Steer would activate. The warning is a very large red stop...

    Come here baby 2019.40.2.1

    Come here baby 2019.40.2.1

The Release Notes say Stop Signs can now be recognized. I just had my 2018 MS upgraded from HW 2.5 to 3.0, and It does well with construction cones, showing all of them near the car. I was hoping to see the same with stop signs. On a section of town with quiet streets, little traffic, I...

    2019.36.x

I received 2019.36.2.1 release last night to my 2018 MS 100D, built Nov 2018, with HW 2.5. In tests today with very prominent construction cones in good lighting, display behind steering wheel did NOT display any of the cones. Also, driving with Creep Off as I normally do, I could not see any...

    V 10 lane changing

Today I tried Auto Steer on a local 4-lane road (2 each way) with good lane markings. A car coming the other way made a routine left turn in front of me into a side driveway. There was plenty of room, perhaps 80 yards, so I was not at all concerned. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when...

    V 10 lane changing

With 2019.32.12.2 late night Saturday, cars spaced out but moving fast, under NAP I signaled my approval of a proposed lane change to right. Mobile Ranger Service in Colorado

I have friends who live in south central Colorado who would possibly like to get a Tesla next year. Since New Mexico does not allow Tesla SC, the closest SC would be Littleton, CO, a 5 hr drive. The next closest would be El Paso, TX, 7 hours. Reliable Mobile Ranger Service could really make...

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

Wow great news, Finally operational after about one year. Just before noon today Saturday my car display shows three cars charging. It happens that just yesterday I traded in my 2013 model S running great and looking great with 93,000 miles for a 2018 model S inventory car with 50 miles and...

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

Yes prefabricated slab looks ready for the Transformer. Fencing is down. When I 15 North is congested at some of the Avenue which is very common an alternate route is to exit the 210 at Cherry and take Cherry to Summit. It worked great today

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

Stopped by after the rain. No change. The large cabinet, which has been in place for months, contains the 480v 3-phase interconnections between the 12 white charger cabinets and the cable to the transformer. It would be nice if Santa could deliver transformer by Christmas.

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

I got a nice call back from a SCE person associated with the new substation project. He was skeptical that the SC project would be held over until the new substation comes on line. Lets hope he is right, because none of us want to wait until first quarter 2019 for SC activation.

Thanks TerranApart for your link to SCE's announcement about building a new substation a few miles east from the Falcon Ridge shopping center. They say they are building it because growth in the area has led to a local shortage of electrical capacity and delivery. This may well explain the...

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

Small amount of progress since my last visit with protective temporary plywood over vaults as shown. I guess this area will not need the strong protective fencing around the Chargers at many other SC locations because the mall has 24 7 security?

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

I stopped by Tues July 31 on my way back from a trip up 395 and there was no progress. I guess there are two open vaults because one will be used beneath the transformer and the other will connect to the high voltage distribution. I agree this delay is very frustrating.
  42. T

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

The fact they are same length seems to be a strong clue that they are indeed conduits. The power from the transformer to the distribution cabinet will be 3phase 480 Volts phase-to-phase. I calculate 2,200A each phase! So you would expect big conduits. A delay this long for completing the...

Supercharger - San Bernardino (LIVE 7 Jun 2018, 14 Urban style)

Several SCE vans on-site today doing final hookup of high-voltage in the vault in the ground. The Transformer and distribution cabinets are all installed. They said they would be done today Tuesday. If so Tesla might be able to do the commissioning tomorrow. Transformer on the left in photo.

Yes, great pics, better than mine taken 5-26 which I did not post. Great that you were able to get your camera above the fence. I was disappointed to see that the cabling from the transformer pad in the foreground to the distribution cabinet behind it was not complete. Usually that is done...

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)

When I visited this site last week, Tuesday about 3pm, traffic on I-15 was very light, full speed, but it took me about 6 to 8 minutes to progress through the traffic backup on the exit ramp. This seemed to be normal, no obstructions. I would think this delay could get worse during normal...

Supercharger - Fontana, CA (LIVE 29 Mar 2019, 24 Urban type)
