That option in not nearly as convenient as the trip info card since it covers the entire map/navigation info so you can't really leave it active all the time on a trip. That's the real problem for me. We have all the same information as before but now it's just not as usable...

I don't think the new layout is such a big problem, at least not on the Model 3. It's just that I think the older one was better.

I think they should offer multiple layouts (and font sizes) and let the user choose. If you, for whatever reason, are not interested in driving visualizations you should be able to select a smaller size and use that space for map or cameras. They could even make the vertical line that divides...

The thing is, I actually like the Model 3 UI as a whole. I think it's easy to use and generally well designed. Having said that, I really belive that the UI changes made for this version represent a significant downgrade and I don't like most of what they have done.

You are right, that explains it. I'm using the Tesla charger. But I know a couple of third party connector cables that have Tesla-compatible release buttons on the handle. One of them is from a Spanish manufacturer (Polycharger) and is quite popular here.

For that it's much faster to slightly push, no need to actually open the door, the rear left door handle (or any other, but that's the one closer to the charge port) and the car will wake up and unlock the charge port. That way you don't have to use the app.
