    Repair a broken HPWC?

That contactor part was exactly what I needed to fix my Gen 1 HPWC. Ordered it from online components.com for $45 shipped. Took about 1 hour to replace as it is a tight space and I'm back to charging at 58mi/hr (19kw). Saved me a bunch of $$$$. These forums and everyone here are godsend!!!

    Supercharging old timers

I guess this is one way to force people to upgrade for those that use their cars for long travels! I understand they need to protect the batteries, but what they did is put a bandaid. When I bought my car, he advertised fast charging (~ 30 min) and now it is 1 hour at least. My opinion is to...

    Model S85D slow at supercharger

Yes, they slowed alot of the older 85 kw cars. Mine barely exceeds 66 kw/hr with less than 20 rated miles. Now it takes 1 hour to supercharge. Used to charge to 110 kw/hr.

    Supercharging old timers

Correct. I am in warrantynfornthe battery, butnif they say "as expected ", I'm assuming they will charge me for diags. I wanted to see if others had this same experience so I don't waste my time going in. Seems like others are... I definitely wouldn't mind a new battery!!

    Supercharging old timers

I wish I rejected the updates. It just got so annoying everyone I park the car, it keeps having click close just to see the screen again. Good way to annoy you to update. I am currently on 2019.24.4. For Tesla to cover themselves, it looks like they have to throttle us old timers because it...

    Supercharging old timers

Thanks for getting back to me. Mine is the B version. I'm out of warranty and before I schedule a visit to the SC, want to be sure no one else is having this issue before i make an appointment to pay for diags.

    Supercharging old timers

I am the original owner of my 2013 P85. I maybe supercharge 15 times a year and used to be able to get roughly 110kw at best when I charge with the range down to 20 to 30 miles. I typically arrive at the supercharger after 2 hours of driving so I know the battery should be "warm." Temperature...

Adding Next Gen seats to an older S

@Topgun66 Did they end up shipping these to you? I finally got a hold of some 2016 front seats and want to see if they ever did. I'll probably head to the service center in a few days to see if I can get these adapter connectors.

Service Center Scrached my hood after Warrentee work.

They see hundreds of Tesla's and many of them dont care. It's another car to them unless it's their own. Since Tesla has grown so big, I'm sure they hired good and bad techs. Back when they were smaller in 2013, they hired techs that took good care of my car and was careful. They even told me...

Adding Next Gen seats to an older S

Where are you guys finding the used seats? I'm located in the bay area and there should be lots of "used" ones I hope. :) I wonder how critical it is to get the airbag reprogrammed. Service centers would be reluctant to do it since it wasnt installed by them.

Upper Rear Link Build (Reduces rear camber to improve tire wear)

Did you try calling them or just emailing? Emailing, they are horrible in responding. For a local shop in the bay area, there is "Custom Alignment" in Mtn View, but they charge you an arm and a leg, but they do get it done right.

Installed adjustable rear camber links to reduce rear tire wear

Tires used to wear out by 9k to 10k miles. I'm pushing close to 14k miles now before i have to change them. These are on 21's wearing PS2s. Going to change to PSS which should last even longer. It is worth it to get the camber kits IF you plan to keep the car long. I'm running only 1.5 degrees...

    BBC Adjustable Rear Links

− Quote For car enthusiasts, it's definitely worth having a lift. Makes everything much easier to work on the vehicle w/o the neck cramps the next morning. With the camber kits, i am able to extend about 2k additional miles so far on my tires. It's worth it. I had over -2.1 to -2.2 degrees. I...

    BBC Adjustable Rear Links

There are no gotachas. Very straight forward. Just make sure you install the adjustable side of the BBC links in the right direction (meaning when they adjust the camber, it doesn't pull on the height sensor) and torque to the original manufacturer specs.

Next Gen Seats - DIY Retrofit

Did everything work for you? When you removed the old harness from your old seat to plug into the new seat, did it require cutting anything? I tried approaching a service center to do the retrofit. The Fremont SC says it isn't possible. I know they are wrong as there are seats that work with my...

Question for those of you running lowering links

@artsci. Thanks for the link. I actually followed your steps and recommendations for the length, but nothing really changed. I out the car in very high mode, Jack mode, out the car on the lift, measured the stock links, added 8mm in length to each, installed the aftermarket link, dropped the...

Same situation as you. I added roughly +7 to +8mm in length to the links all around and it doesn't really seem much lower.

    Retrofitting NextGen Seats

Any suggestions where you can get your hands on the next gens? Reading other threads, Tesla won't help you with the re-programming to recognize the seats. I heard the power functions work, but you need the door tether too... but need reprogramming for airbag.

Proof of tire wear benefits of accurate alignment and rear camber

With the newer cars, did they fix the camber issue? I don't see people complain on the forums as much and it seems lots more people are getting better longevity on their tires. The camber adjustment is worth it in the long run. Slightly more road contact with your tires and longevity...

Proof of tire wear benefits of accurate alignment and rear camber

I went to 2 shops. One was in Fremont - Auto Innovations. He wouldn't touch my car cuz he was afraid of opening a can of worms and the camber bolt wasnt very easily accessible. He was originally going to charge $150. He then referred me to Custom Alignments in Mountain View. They are even more...

Proof of tire wear benefits of accurate alignment and rear camber

I guess the shop i took it to wasnt bright enough to do it. I told him to remove it, but he said he wouldn't have the proper clearance for a big wrench to adjust the 1 1/8" bolt for camber from BBC. I even bought a stubby wrench for him to use. He actually lifted the rear, removed the wheel...

Proof of tire wear benefits of accurate alignment and rear camber

Curious to see how your alignment shop adjusted the camber with the BBC's. Did he rip off the whole undershield/panel to adjust the camber? Even so, to properly tighten the bolt is from the top, but you have to remove the rims.

I believe the builds starting from April onwards did not have the P+ suspension. Your VIN build should have the + suspension.

Got My CPO 2013 P85+ but...

The rubbing is a known issue on the earlier vehicles. It is more apparent when the vehicle is raised to the highest position with the steering wheel turned hard left I believe. There was no real fix to this. I think in the later builds, they changed the design to the fender liner on the right...
