Thanks for the response! It seems most autopilot set up vehicles are just out of my reach. its come down to how much i will save on maintenance and fuel. My currently daily driver cost a lot in fuel alone and is getting to un-reliable to keep driving everyday.

How can i tell what the build date is? just look for autopilot cameras?

The no wheel wells was one of the first things i noticed when they opened the bed (AWESOME!). It makes me wonder about the width but i would imagine its the same as any other truck just without the protrusions.

Yes i do disagree with his comments. Elon Musk never said this was "super hardened stainless steel", he said cold rolled 30X. Its just a variant of 301 as far as we know. He uses 301 on the starship prototype and spoke of using 301 for the actual thing. This is just plain jane 301 stainless...

Maybe, but that's not just being added on to the initial base price. That's added extras, you are getting something else for your money. If they FORCE it at first that would suck, which your correct they probably will.

The price could change some sure. These are just base prices, you could easily tack on 5-10k in extras. I disagree that they are going to come out and say "oh yeah we added 10K to the starting price of every model" They are a way more mature company now, Plus the demand is for higher end models...

I can only hope they do some sort of ACTUAL off road testing, the worst thing that can happen is they release the truck and its awful off pavement. It is going to be picked and prodded like no other off road vehicle.

The transmission fluid would get very hot. it would still circulate and get cooled on the return side of the radiator or external transmission cooler. Also as @ricohman says most the torque converter is not the weakest link so other stuff would break first. My money would be on U-Joints. or...
