Help from experienced model S owners

Alright, you guys pretty much convinced me. Gonna keep my eyes peeled for the best deal i can get on a model 3! Im very motivated to buy, my current vehicle is 16 years old with 170,000 miles. Im spending like crazy on gas and maintenance each month.. gonna only get worse from here.

Help from experienced model S owners

Yeah i am scouting some model 3's now, at the prices they are used i dont see much reason to not just jump for the standard range plus. So for charging.. i wont be able to keep it topped off during the week. But every weekend i spend Saturday and Sundays at my shop, i would probably use my...

Help from experienced model S owners

i have! it is in the price range. However i am a little bit hesitant to get one with that many miles. Edit: i guess the warranty is good for 1 1/2 more years though! Also.. looks like its 93k miles! in the photos the state of charge is at 0%

Help from experienced model S owners

Thanks for the response! It seems most autopilot set up vehicles are just out of my reach. its come down to how much i will save on maintenance and fuel. My currently daily driver cost a lot in fuel alone and is getting to un-reliable to keep driving everyday.

Help from experienced model S owners

Hey everyone! This is my first official thread post. I am looking for advice from some knowledgeable model S owners about the best option for a used model S. I am bouncing between a 2013 Model S85 (~70,000miles), a 2013 model S60 (~62,000miles) and a 2014 S60 (~78,000miles). All three are around...

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

I am very aware of the Taper. I still don't think we are looking at 10" of thickness. That would put the bed sides at almost the same width as the tires and it would be exactly the width of the tread which is 10". I feel like based on The mission of Tesla and what they are trying to accomplish...

    Self presenting doors?

Spectrum just likes to disagree and not respond, apparently.

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

Yeah i cant quite figure that out, If it is not including the fender flares that's rather wide.. however i do believe Elon Musk was talking about the body minus the flares. Because the Cybertruck prototype has DOT clearance lamps. Meaning it is 80" wide or more. 79.8" would slide under this...
  11. E

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

Judging by some photos the width of the exterior to interior sheet metal on the bed does not look like 10" on each side. But that's just a guess and not backed by any factual evidence. I will wait for actual dimensions to come out. Either way i believe the dimensions of the bed will be more than...

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

How do you know all these measurements of the cyber truck?
  13. E

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

The no wheel wells was one of the first things i noticed when they opened the bed (AWESOME!). It makes me wonder about the width but i would imagine its the same as any other truck just without the protrusions.

Elon: We can reduce the length 6+ inches

This whole thread makes me ROFL..

    Cybertruck design/features

Man great story, for me it was building fences for cash. Post hole diggers, gloves and my 84 Toyota pickup 4x4 (first truck). I guarantee i exceeded to payload/towing capacity on that thing with each job. We would drive down the fence line dropping off the post and each spot, dig and set each...

    Self presenting doors?

I'm confused, your arguing against self opening/closing doors because that's not utilitarian. But you want the CT to have self presenting door handles? Also utilitarian means "useful and practical rather than attractive"
  20. E

Will the off-road tires reduce the range like 22s on MX?

Are you kidding? Valet parking can be a very treacherous endeavor, he was lucky. But seriously, i would imagine Tesla is gonna do a bunch of testing as well. They likely wont make a bunch of videos about it though, They don't have anything prove. Just need to build it, it will sell.

    Cyber Truck seen in Moscow

That must be the production ready prototype, Looks like Elon made good on his word to make it smaller :p

    Doubting Price is real!

And arguably a better deal because it comes with the full glass roof and upgraded seat material! Versus the originally soild roof and cloth seats.

Hell since i can weld stainless steel also, i would totally be willing to go ahead a drill a freaking hole in the truck once i take delivery. Scouts Honor. I can easily patch it afterwards.

Check Out the Cybertruck Promo Photos

Yes i do disagree with his comments. Elon Musk never said this was "super hardened stainless steel", he said cold rolled 30X. Its just a variant of 301 as far as we know. He uses 301 on the starship prototype and spoke of using 301 for the actual thing. This is just plain jane 301 stainless...

Favorite options? I want a snowplow and a winch.

If thats not an option i'm canceling my reservation, ELON MUSK BETTER LISTEN TO ME

Favorite options? I want a snowplow and a winch.

Good idea! That way i can get to the mall FASTER. Do you think it will clear speed bumps? I know i'm gonna need ALL 16" of cybertruck ground clearance for those. I hope that air suspension can handle it too! WOah boy, Elon's gonna need to make this one tough mother to survive down here, these...

This was one of the best things for them, When the model 3 launched most of my family members had no idea. Same with the model Y.. Semi... Roadster.. but with the cybertruck EVERYONE KNOWS! My father actually said "wow did you see how strong that glass is?! they threw that big metal ball and it...

I wonder what i could do with a snowplow down here in Texas? o_O
  31. E

    Self presenting doors?

I hope not, i even hope the handles become mechanical like the model 3 and Y. Maybe with less of a slim and sleek design.
  32. E

    Doubting Price is real!

Maybe, but that's not just being added on to the initial base price. That's added extras, you are getting something else for your money. If they FORCE it at first that would suck, which your correct they probably will.
  33. E

CyberTruck may be classified as Medium Duty

HAHA i see what you mean, I was laughing about People from Houston testing it. Majority would be asking "How well can it pickup my kids from school and go to the mall" :p. "can i lift it 12 inches and put deep dish skateboard 24" wheels with rubber band mud terrain and underglow?" I know it...
  34. E

    Doubting Price is real!

The price could change some sure. These are just base prices, you could easily tack on 5-10k in extras. I disagree that they are going to come out and say "oh yeah we added 10K to the starting price of every model" They are a way more mature company now, Plus the demand is for higher end models...
  35. E

CyberTruck may be classified as Medium Duty

I can only hope they do some sort of ACTUAL off road testing, the worst thing that can happen is they release the truck and its awful off pavement. It is going to be picked and prodded like no other off road vehicle.

Where's the torque, Elon? WHERE'S THE TORQUE??

I don't watch a lot of television... but this man is a blithering idiot.
  39. E

$7000 US Fed Tax Credit for Cybertruck!

"The EVs Tesla and GM sold in 2019 that only qualified for reduced partial credits wouldn’t count towards the new 600,000 threshold" -Electrek This indicates the number would start from 200,000 if goes through.
  40. E

CyberTruck may be classified as Medium Duty

I think, as some others have stated, the cyber truck will exist in its own sort of "class". Its breaking a lot of "norms" here.
  41. E

$7000 US Fed Tax Credit for Cybertruck!

I agree, not likely to go through. Maybe if Tesla made coal powered cars hahah

    Fair tug of war?

    What makes you say that?
  44. E

    Fair tug of war?

In the end though.. this comparison means nothing. I once pulled a 1997 2wd f-350 dually with my 1984 toyota 4x4 in a tug of war. What did that prove? NOTHING.
  45. E

    Fair tug of war?

I think this is the CLOSEST to fair comparison. Although there are still so many variables as you have pointed out. Also the crew cab raptor has a curb weight of 5,697 and the highest weight model x curb weight is 5,531. So the raptor has a 167lbs weight advantage. The raptor also appears to...

What aftermarket accessories do you want for your Cybertruck?

HAHA:D i can imagine bouncing down I-10 in Houston, literally bouncing!
  47. E

    Fair tug of war?

The transmission fluid would get very hot. it would still circulate and get cooled on the return side of the radiator or external transmission cooler. Also as @ricohman says most the torque converter is not the weakest link so other stuff would break first. My money would be on U-Joints. or...

    Should I get 2 Cybertruck?

I think it will last well over 20 years, heck ICE vehicles pretty easily last 20 even without a ton of good maintenance.

    Should I get 2 Cybertruck?

    Obvious answer, YES.
