$199/month?!?! So what was that $7k all about? Can I get it back? Any class actions underway?

    No longer sleeping after 2021.4.11

I'm on 4.12 and have been for a couple weeks. My issues started a few versions before that.

    No longer sleeping after 2021.4.11

Update: it's fixed. Conditions that made the insomnia happen were: -plugged in -not charging -sentry off They replaced the charge port ECU and did a firmware update. Not sure which fixed it.

Same issue. Had mobile service replace my charge port ECU today. Will report back.

M3 passenger seatbelt anchor - is this normal?

See pic... I don't remember the cable sticking that far out. Did I just miss it the first year I've owned the car or did something happen? The driver's side does not look like this. Thanks.

Sentry mode USB drive too slow

I ended up doing the same. Went with a 500gb Sandisk SSD. $40 on Amazon. So far, so good.

Sentry mode USB drive too slow

Thanks. I took it out and deleted everything on it. Not sure how full it was. I put it back and the error happened again. Didn't reformat though.

Sentry mode USB drive too slow

I just started getting the too slow message. I have a 256gb Samsung USB 3.0 drive that's been working great for months... until now. Do they really get "worn out?"

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

They should offer up the performance model software for those of us with the LR AWD with FSD that aren't (and won't for a while) getting what we were led to believe we were getting by their marketing efforts. I'd make that trade. A refund would also work. FWIW, I don't get ping ponging; new...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

Has anyone who has updated to 40.2 in the past few days subsequently been pushed 40.2.1?

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

Same config on my end. Autosteer and TACC have also become jerkier over the last couple of updates.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.2 - FSD AutoSteer Stop Sign Warning and Adjacent Lane Speeds

Upgraded to 40.2. No stop sign warning during first test drive. What a surprise, Elon... what a surprise.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Eventually. Then we'll learn that the next step closer to FSD will require HW4.

Clicking when computer applies brake at low speeds - got an answer from Tesla

Interesting. I don't remember it happening the first few hundred miles I had the car. But it is possible I didn't notice. In any case, the sound in the vid speaks for itself so if you guys really do think it's normal then I guess it's my problem.
  17. B

Clicking when computer applies brake at low speeds - got an answer from Tesla

Nope, I use creep and standard regen when not in TACC. But the sound doesn't happen when applying the brakes manually.
  18. B

Clicking when computer applies brake at low speeds - got an answer from Tesla

Yes. It's very noticeable in stop and go traffic.

Clicking when computer applies brake at low speeds - got an answer from Tesla

For those of us with this issue, Tesla told me that it's a normal sound made by the iBooster that controls the brakes. Video here: Dropbox - Video Nov 14, 6 11 59 PM.mov - Simplify your life FWIW, I find it extremely annoying and not a sound that should be considered "normal" in any new car...

"Hold" mode regeneration in new SW

Video: Dropbox - Video Nov 14, 6 11 59 PM.mov - Simplify your life A Tesla "lead technician" says it's normal. Very annoying... and very poor choice of components if that is in fact a normal sound for the iBooster.

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

Endowment effect This bias occurs when we overvalue something that we own, regardless of its objective market value (Kahneman et al., 1991).

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Sounds like it's caused by a little play between the actuator that the computer uses to control braking and the brake mechanism itself. Happens at a stop while going from 0 mph to hold, or at very low speeds when stopping in AP. Not holding my breath that Tesla will fix it.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Loved hold mode. Ultimately couldn't take the clicking. Back to creep.

Poll: Is FSD a complete crock?

What exactly are you happy with above and beyond the standard AP available in all models? I genuinely want to know. Yes, I thought I was getting something ahead of the competition. Not years behind Waymo and probably GM too.

Poll: Is FSD a complete crock?

Doesn't matter. Should have been communicated better, especially when fronting $6k. We all need to admit that we were ripped off yet again by a man that chronically overpromises and underdelivers.
  26. B

Poll: Is FSD a complete crock?

Because I was promised by end of year. And it is nowhere close. Latest update lets us see cones (and the occasional fire hydrant mistaken for a cone). That's great, but with 2 months to go it seems like we're more than a little behind schedule.

Poll: Is FSD a complete crock?

M3 with "FSD" and HW3.0 (I guess?) purchased September 2019. Complete crock/false advertising/call it what you want. Until there is a class action and/or a full refund of our $6k, it will remain a problem.

"Hold" mode regeneration in new SW

That's right... and in hold mode with AP off that's the only time it happens. Where it gets more pronounced is in sub 5 mph stop and go when AP is on... when the brakes are being applied and released by AP. I think people are noticing it more now that hold has been rolled out widely. Since...

    Clicking from brake/accelerator - help!

Same issue here. Have either of you found a fix?
  30. B

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Ditto. It's driving me nuts. Anyone know if there is a service bulletin for this?
  31. B

"Hold" mode regeneration in new SW

I have the same noise. It also happens when the computer engages the brakes under about 10 mph. Really annoying in stop and go traffic while on autopilot. I'm going to contact my service center about it and see what they say.
