    Etiquette for stranded fellow Tesla

Great advice! Safety first, and even a quick stop to see what help is needed would be welcomed.

    2018 Leaf vs Model 3

This is a real win-win. The 2018 Leaf poses no competitive threat to the Model 3, but it will pull more drivers into the EV world, That may even pull more auto manufacturers into producing more mainstream EVs. That's good for all of us. I'm already seeing an explosion in EV charging stations...

Washing my Model S - First Time

I use Eco Green and love it. I can clean my whole MS using about 2 quarts of water and it comes out beautifully. I rinse the microfiber towels out after use and wash them in the washing machine when they get ugly. Eco Green has several strengths of wash. I use one called "Freedom One"...

    Cool car or tree hugger??

I know exactly where you're coming from. We had to stretch to get our S85 too. We just got to a point where we felt it was important to put our money where our values are. Tesla was the only Auto manufacturer who seemed serious about moving the world off of fossil fuels and I wanted to...

    I expected more from a P85D

I took my S85 in for its birthday service (2 years) and got a P85D as a loaner. Overall, the car is amazing. I love the new seats and the tremendous electronic advances and am in love with the car. I did notice a couple of things that you all might be able to help with....First, when I...

Question on the SC at Gilroy , CA

I use the Gilroy chargers fairly often and I've never seen any reserved signs on any of them. As markb1 mentioned, the four to the right of the power junction are the original ones. Although they say 90kW, I believe that all are now 120kW chargers. At any rate, the Gilroy chargers seem...

    S85 vs P85+ ... Is the P+ Worth It at Today's Pricing (Feb 2014)?

I'm with efusco on this. The answer depends on who wins the battle between your practical mind and your emotional mind. The real difference in performance between the P85 and the regular motor is in the 0-60 acceleration. More like 0-30, really. The difference is a lot smaller from 30-100 or...

Had My Annual Service Today - Is this SOP?

I took my MS to the Fremont plant for its annual service a few weeks ago. No MS loaners were available, so I got a Cadillac (which only reinforces my belief that Tesla is years ahead of its competition). Free gas, but no offer of delivery. I live about 17 miles from the factory. Great...

Tesla to Upgrade Wall Adapters After Reports of Garage Fires - Bloomberg News

Just for the record, I've had my MS for almost a year now and have charged it nearly 300 times at home using the standard adapter with absolutely no issues. Not even warm to the touch.

    Supercharging ROI

Thanks for the in-depth analysis scaesare! I completely agree with your conclusion. The Superchargers make long-distance travel in the MS both easy and cheap. I live in California and recently drove from San Jose (Bay Area) to San Diego and back. Total driving distance for the trip was about...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Congratulations gg_got_a_Tesla. Your world is about to change for the better! A bit like the birth of your first child, but without all the diaper changes and feeding issues :-) You will soon realize that you're in possession of a bit of automotive history--and a sexy one at that! Here's to...

    Model S Accident/Fire

I think that the most important thing here is how quickly the Tesla team diagnoses the cause and implements any necessary changes to solve the issues. I have faith that the engineers at Tesla are already on top of this and are examining every aspect of the crash and fire. The team has been...

    Reliability of Superchargers?

I have to admit that the only experience with superchargers is using the ones in the Bay Area. I have never seen any ports down for any reason, and "ICE blockage" has never been a problem ( the one at the Tesla factory is an "all-Tesla" neighborhood and the one in Gilroy is in an area that most...

Main Battery and 12V battery failure in the middle of the intersection.

While I'm a fan of identifying and solving all true safety-related issues, I'd absolutely give Tesla the first shot at fixing issues before going to the NTSHA. Two reasons: First, its been my experience that the engineers at Tesla have been extremely responsive to all problems that come to...

    Tesla Supercharger network

My experience with the Gilroy charges has been hit and miss. Most of the time there has been at least one open slot when I pulled up (usually in the afternoon). Lately though, it has become over crowded. When I was there at about 2:00 PM last month there were a total of 8 Teslas for the 4...

    Extremely Disappointed about SuperCharger rollout

I agree with the statements that the supercharges are complex to install and that there are a lot of aspects of the installation that are out of Tesla's control. Still, while they can't control everything, they can control the press release content and timing. I truly admire Elon's vision and...

    Extended Warranty Price Increase

Great strategy Akikiki. This actually makes sense. I bought the extended warranty early on, but probably would have been better off following your lead

    Supercharger - Atascadero, CA (8 V2 stalls)

Anybody know when Tesla will make an official announcement about the sites? Probably waiting for a big announcement when all are up and running, but I'd sure like to start planning a road trip for the summer.....

    P85 Loaner Cars! Sweet!!

I love the concept, but when I took my S in for service recently, the loaner I got looked and drove exactly like a Chevy Malibu. Not exactly the supreme driving experience I was expecting. I absolutely love the idea of "loaning up", but I just wish that the hype didn't precede the actual...

Loud motor sound when running the AC

I had the same noise problem, and the service center told me that Tesla is sourcing a more quiet compressor. They say that they might have a fix in as little as 3 months. In the meantime, there is no harm in using the AC. Just a bit embarrassing at times.....

Pano Roof Wind Noise at Higher Speeds

I have no issues when the roof is closed at high speeds. However, when the roof is open I get lots of noise and vibration/chattering from the sunroof itself. This starts at about 50mph. I think joer00's comment on a vacuum being created may have something to do with this. I'll open some...
