Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Hey All
Had an insurance claim where they just replaced all 4 tires. These only have 10k easy miles. I say easy because I took pics of the new and old and I can’t tell the difference in tread wear.
Was going to save them, but I really don’t have the space in the garage.
Thought I’d pass...
Hey All,
Took delivery of my Performance 3 on 12/28/19.... and already had someone ding my fender. WTF!! Have been sick to my stomach over it because doesn't even have a 1000mi or plates.
Did some searching on here and found that pointless dent removal is actually pretty robust. Started...
New here trying to grasp my model 3 P with TeslaFi, Stats, and Sentry Mode.
Just to make sure Im on the right track... I use sentry mode always because i live in a high traffic beach town with the car always outside (carport behind the garage.)
i.e. My car will never sleep because of...
Add me to the mix. Sucks to watching all the appointments keep getting pushed out and out. Does this mean all the appointments are from people that took deliver weeks ago?
The guy that help me in Costa Mesa is still trying on his end. Will let everyone know if he comes up with a solution.
Try calling a store and talk to anyone. Have them locate the car. If it’s indeed there they can match you with a click or two and you’re ready for an appointment when they can fit you in.
Also, you can try the chat to get them to call you and have them locate the car by VIN.
Some inventory...
So here’s the real gut punch... they weren’t matching me to the car that was sitting at the DC because it was a different price. One girl even said that car was built more expensive. Just absolute stupidity. If we were on the current price book they would just match another one without a second...
The problem is plain and simple communication.
Every single one of us is now better equipped to explain the process than 99% of Tesla. WE. DON’T. WORK. FOR. TESLA!
If we can explain this process to someone buying during the next batch, why can’t Tesla?! If you manage people’s expectations you...
I was in this boat up until yesterday. Also spent the majority of yesterday expressing my frustration on several people.. and a couple today. Different answers every time.
Favorite was the girl that said my vin (in source) was preproduction after 3 days of people telling me it was waiting on...
Woww... that’s a tough one. I feel like the long wait has worn us all down to the point where we’re just happy to have a car. But.... these things should definitely addressed
You’ve already done the work documenting and writing it all down. I would definitely get that all of it on a due bill...
Would love to, but I’m without a VIN on my manage page still.
Tesla insurance being run by Tesla people (I asked), they can’t run a quote without the vin showing. Baffling, I know.
Other companies more than half the price, so no big deal... but seriously smh
Good to know! Had a rude awakening with AIS yesterday... $2400 for 6mos o_O
15 years with them.. 2 small comprehensive claims with no accidents ever and no tickets since 2003.
Apparently... Mercury does NOT want to insure Teslas. Crazy!
Thanks for the contacts. Will try again tomorrow. I spoke with an Adam today, unfortunately didn’t seem like the right Adam.
Totally with you! We must be a pair of rocket scientists. Take the current VIN off my order... put this VIN on the order. Problem solved.
They definitely can match me...
So spoke with DC again today... now sorry 623XXX is in preproduction as opposed to ”waiting for transport”
Found out they have my config sitting at the DC just without FSD but I would have to pay the price increase (not going to happen and shouldn’t hard to fix.) WTF on so many levels...
UPDATE: after speaking with a “sounded knowledgeable” SA at Costa Mesa... VIN was in final production waiting for final inspection. Should be on a truck Sunday for maybe Mon/Tue delivery.
Good news for some other SoCal Costa Mesa cars/VINs on the truck as well!
VIN assigned this am! 624550
Costa Mesa delivery center.
10/16 order
Blk/Blk FSD
Was starting get a little anxious with all these inventory cars staring us in the face
Any ideas on speeding up delivery? I’ll drive over there right now!
What is this way that you speak of? I currently have to login to my computer at home to screenshare and go through the entire process that way. Huge pain... especially with the frequency at which I’m checking!
Message in. For everyone, myself included, they’ve added a “Referral Credit of -$1000” to offset. Happens pretty quick too. I did it through the request a change button because my SA is busy or useless (or both!)
Good to know. I’m 10/16 in CA and our rebate is changed today. Thinking about dropping FSD to bring the MSRP under the $60k cap then re-adding.
My says $6k rather than the $7k new price to add back on the website... but hard to trust anything on there
Seems pretty clear on the website stating effective 12/3, vehicles with an MSRP >$60k are ineligible. Unless I’m missing something.
Question is, if people in the same boat drop the FSD to get under the cap, will we be able to add back at $6k or is Tesla going to charge us $7k?
What’s everyone thinking? Getting close to vin assignments I’m over the $60k.
My account is showing $6k to add after. Think that’s a Tesla mistake or actually correct? Order date is 10/16.
Getting closer and thinking we’re definitely not getting our performance models prior to the deadline.
Has anyone dropped FSD already to get the price under the $60k? It’s showing like it would only be $6k (ordered on 10/16) to re-add after the fact.
Also, have we determined that this is a...
I would be highly optimistic. People have been waiting months. Things change... there’s going to be a ton of freed up inventory whether it’s cancels or order changes.
There will be cars.
Just curious for the others that ordered prior to the price increase for grey wheels (before 10/17) and received an adjustment in the form of a referral credit.
Is this reflected in your order agreement (MVOA) as well as your manage page?
Mine is not showing the credit on the MVOA but is...
Dropping it at $6k to add it back at $7k is the “issue” per say.
Would be nice Tesla would honor the original $6k for all orders prior to the 11/3 increase.
May stop by to see what an SA can make of it
Does prior to 12/3 still have the caveat of excluding vehicles >$60k?
Also, our cars are coming as 2020 models. Is the rebate only for 2019s currently?
Was parsing through this earlier...
Performance Model here.
What are other perf people thinking? Drop FSD to re-add later? Pretty certain were not getting ours before 12/3.
I’m reading it as a be under $60k before 12/3 or get nothing. Is this right?
I keep hitting it too. Mostly because I’m impatient. But I was thinking that the changes are being made in this state and clicking submit finalizes/cancels the request because it goes to the submit button a few minutes after I submit the order change.
Had you already seen the price adjustment...
Luckily, I think you’re in the minority with the wheel color preference. A lot of people looking to swap silvers for the darks.
Shouldn’t have any problem finding someone to swap silver wheels near you.
Just out of curiosity, I have sent a message thought the request a change button both yesterday and today and haven’t received anything back.
My account reverts back to the blue submit button but then nothing. Did you have the same and just leave it be?
Will be there tomorrow.
Account still showing two weeks from order date and silver wheels. Trying to change to black paint but who knows at this point

Account still showing 2 weeks and silver wheels. Attempting to change ext to black. We’ll see.
Just read this as I typed the other. I’m black for the time being. At this point I probably should just say white/black whatever. Let me know when a car is ready! :p
At least it looks to be all California here (this thread) So probably all going to be getting them at the same time. Race?
So randomly a girl from Tesla just called about me missing my test drive and to see if I wanted to reschedule.
Let her know that I did a test drive already and talked to her about this question. She said that a paint color change is no problem and would stay on the original pricing. She put in...
Hi All
Unique question (to me at least)...
Ordered 10/16 (day before grey wheels and price increase)
Performance
Pearl White/Black int
FSD
Still showing 20” Silver Wheels
So.. everyone on here from basically late September forward has had their performance wheels change color to the new grey...
