Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I need the European modem. The closest service center will not sell it to me because my US VIN. I tried EU VIN from internet, but the center said I need to use the app for with that VIN.
Can an EU (MCU1) owner order it for me? I will pay extra for your effort. It is a non restricted part. I will...
Just passed 170000 miles on my 2014 P85. I still see 120kW for 10-20 when around 5%. After that the % + kW add to 110. No change for the last 100000 miles, 4.5 years.
I order an replaced the parts. All good. But it dawn on me that to disconnect the motor all you have to do is to remove the cover with the button, reach inside and unplug the motor. That might allow some to open automatically but likely have to push it down after closing.
Replying to my self. I am traveling internationally and customs wanted to look in the trunk. Third time in 15 crossings. After crossing I saw a junk yard and for less than $20 I put a used Mercedes part in. The motor does not operate, I have to push down to lock. But I can open the truck for...
I am in the club too. Emergency not working. No service center within 1000km. I will stop by Mercedes dealership to buy the part. Thanks to all for the information posted.
I did not see this information in the tread: once CCS is enabled on the car, Chademo doe not work anymore. It did not on my car, might be OK with newer cars. Even if OP gets the adapter working, it might not work with the car since it talks Chademo to the car.
The car LED lights do not pull enough current to correctly activate the sensors? If you tap the line and draw to much current from the line the car will complain
2021.24.28 It worked fine 3 months ago. No software updates since then. I still have root access.
I restarted (fire fighting disconnect).
Edit: I tried to rename the internal.dat in gw using gwxfer. I got "Mkdir Failure-1". (I know linux just enough to be very dangerous.)
After "gwxfer ./i.dat gw:internal.dat" I get "Sending...failed". It worked fine before. "append-internal-dat" gives me "could not write". Any suggestions?
There is a difference between a continuous rating and a temporary rating. It is unlikely you will stop the session just when it starts to drop from 500A and start another session on a different car to continue to charge at 500A. There are online tables for temporary rating for cables and 15 min...
Need to upgrade to CCS since CHADEMO stations are being replaced with "CCS2 only" here in my area. I just need the ECU and cables for an early 2014 P85 dual chargers. If anybody knows the part #s that I need that will help too. Ship to US address overseas.
Anybody knows if/where I can buy a CCS2 retrofit (ECU and cables mainly) for a 2014 P85 dual charger US model? I had a 900 km trip on Monday, and two charger locations only had CCS2 when PlugShare said CHAdeMO also. Added over one hour to the trip. I am in Bulgaria. Service center in Greece will...
EVgo gave me proximity error. But the EA Signet charger worked fine. In this area Signet are the chargers with the connector holder on the side. For the BTCPower chargers the CCS connector rests in the front under the screen. Is there anyway to trigger the battery pre-heat manually?
I received the SETEC adapter today. Drove to the first CCS charger an EA charger. First try was charging at 23kW, I had the Scan My Tesla and it said the BMS max charge 23kW. After 3 minutes I stopped and unplug the charger and Scan My Tesla reported BMS max charge 78Kw, the car was cold at 60%...
I am not an expert. I was told that the easiest way is to wait until you see a new software update download coming. Don't update until after you replace the port. The software update should do the firmware deployment, and hopefully include the charge port.
Did the car preheat? Yesterday I saw for the fist time the message about preheating the battery. I was going somewhere close to the supercharger, I did not actually supercharge. Time for a longer trip!
In my case the car died the same way but with these errors BMS_w008, BMS_w010, BMS_f008 and BMS_f011. The 12V discharged to low by morning. I put the 12V on a battery tender and left for work. In the evening the car was back up without any movement. The errors point to a HV interlock issue see...
The problem with my car still seems off topic for this tread. The car came back to life without doing anything. Tesla might get me in service center tomorrow. Not sure if they are going to be able to duplicate anything. I will move any further discussion to:
Alerts - "Unable to Drive -voltage...
Looks like I was off topic. I finish chatting with tech and I was told that errors BMS_w008, BMS_w010, BMS_f008 and BMS_f011 are related to the Brake Management System. I asked if he meant Battery and he confirmed it was Brake. I will stop posting here. Do I need to move or delete my posts?
If it is the battery then it might be related to the topic. People asked for info.
@fbitz777 I have ScanMyTesla and when I get home I can BMS data, just let me know what data. I believe that the Voltage Supply too low is because the 12V was not charged since it stopped charging last night. I...
Usually charge at 75% for work. Last week was colder and snow in the forecast so I charged to 90%. On Monday I left home at 85% reach work at 71% and likely made it home at 56%. The car charged to 64% then stopped.
Light foot driving and 60-70 miles a day commute. Only about 1MWh of DC...
Typo, I have a 2014 just like my signature says. But I have two 10kW chargers, I guess they work better in pairs. I am wondering if they share the load when I charge at 40A.
Do not forget about the HIGH VOLTAGE JUNCTION BOX. HV Junction Box - Cover - 2nd Generation (Remove and Replace)
MY US 2015 Model S P85 has only to wires from the port to a HV box that only has two high voltage relays. I would need a larger port, add another wire, replace the HV box with 3 relays, replace the charger with a three phase one, hack the system make it accept the new hardware. It is likely...
I got this replay from a guy that was trying to do just this: "You have gen1 chargers and it's a big hassle to change them. All this conversion costs over 5000 Euro pieces + many hours of labor. Anyway, it doesn't come out like an EU car. The EU port of loading does not fit, an entire aluminum...
I was just trying to point out that other than the battery tech there is nothing more "evolved and refined parts in ice cars" than the EV.
As the younger generation will start designing ice cars all that "evolved and refined thing" will disappear. They just moved my outlook search on the top...
