Jenkins is off-base, but that's because he doesn't realize a) Tesla's GAAP losses are due to high investment levels, not cost of sales and b) that Tesla's sales do not depend on subsidies, even though they benefit from them. Tesla has built a straight-up competitor for vehicles in their segment.

Actually, in purchasing-power-parity terms (i.e., an exchange rate the equalizes the costs of a typical basket of goods), Norwegian GDP per capita is only slightly higher than US GDP per capita. Still, that's something few countries can boast of. Of course, sitting on a lot of oil helps.

A MS60 was one of the first cars to go coast-to-coast in the US on the SuperCharger network. The SuperCharger network is generally laid out to work well for 60s. Reports are that 60 range is holding up well.
