Netflix doesn't retain sign-in info; "Remember me" box is checked

It works now. It didn't work for the first few times because Netflix wanted to be sure that it wasn't an unauthorized sign in. So it didn't let me sign in immediately but instead sent me two emails to make sure that it was me trying to sign in. Once a period of time passed and I hadn't said that...

Netflix doesn't retain sign-in info; "Remember me" box is checked

Every time I want to watch Netflix, it makes me type in my user info and password, even though I have the "Remember me" box checked. Please let me know if you have found a way to avoid this.

Caution: Driving while firmware is updating

Just to be perfectly clear, I do not recommend that anyone else try this and I would never do this again. But it is nice to know that nothing awful happened and the car was able to drive while it was updating itself. Big props to Tesla. I believe the latest firmware was installed completely and...

Caution: Driving while firmware is updating

Thinking I had plenty of time while shopping in Costco, I disabled Sentry Mode and started my update (to 20.4). However when we got back to the car, the screen said "Update in Progress". I thought we wouldn't be able to drive the car until the update was completed, but I thought I'd try anyway...

    Best interior lights

Mine did the same thing when I switched them from my S to my 3. On some only 4 of the six bulbs worked. I emailed RPM and they said have a new batch because they had problems like yours and mine. They replaced them with a new set and they work perfectly.

    Best interior lights

I love the RPM Tesla lights. I voted for them but the count didn't change. I think the vote is "Trumpified".

    Lane departure avoidance issues

A few days ago I was driving down a winding undivided 2 lane street leading to my house. I must have reached down for something and drifted into the middle of the street. All of the sudden the car jerked me back to my side and sounded some alarm and flashed something on the screen. Fortunately...

    Surprise find - a new 2018 Mid-Range

For mine, the 18" aero wheels were standard, so they comped me the paint, the white interior and all but $670 of the autopilot. Since I don't plan on selling the car anytime soon, I'm okay with getting a 2018 because there is absolutely no difference in the car other than some lost resale value...

    Surprise find - a new 2018 Mid-Range

I like the looks of the white interior with the midnight silver. HOWEVER, I got the windows tinted 20% (quite dark) and the reflection of the white dashboard onto the side-view mirrors when it's sunny is a killer, I ended up putting a matte black piece of paper (easily removable) on the outer 6"...

    Surprise find - a new 2018 Mid-Range

At the end of March 2019, I purchased a new 2018 mid range in midnight silver with the white interior. I was going to purchase the standard plus 2019 model but it did not come with homelink and there were a few other things that were missing. So the delivery Center found me a 2018 and I was able...

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

Polarized sunglasses do not help with my glare. But I think you got it right when you said that some tints may be more reflective than others. And, of course, the darker the worse it is.
  14. H

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

I put some heavy matte black paper on the outside 6" or so of the white dash and that helps a lot. Very easy to take it off when showing off the car. It's a quick and easy but not elegant fix.

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

Your 30 is certainly better than my 20. If I had gotten 35, I'm sure I wouldn't object as much. But I do like the darkness and uniformity the 20 on all sides and back window affords. It very much matches my Midnight Silver paint

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

Wow, I thought the wood dash would be much less reflective than the ultra white dash I have! I'm thinking I might just put a black piece of cloth over the outside quarters of the dash.

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

Do you have a white interior like mine?
  18. H

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

You are entitled to your opinion. From the outside, the 20% makes my windows look very similar to my Midnight Silver paint. It looks very cool to me.
  19. H

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

The film is Rayno S7 ceramic tint - 20% so it's very dark. I'll try different sunglasses to see if it makes a difference.
  20. H

Major problem created when tinting front windows of M3 w/ white interior

I don't know if this reflection problem (see picture) is just for certain brands of tint or certain intensities (mine is dark), but as you can see, the white interior casts a major reflection on the driver's (and passenger's) side rear view mirrors when it's sunny. I really like the white...

Window tinting caused "Blindspot Detection Limited" alert

FYI: Problem when tinting windows Yesterday I had the windows tinted on my new Model 3. After leaving the shop, I immediately got a warning to the effect: "Blindspot Detection Limited, Camera Visibility Reduced". This warning would not go away and I was unable to use my Autopilot at all. At...

TeslaCam - How big of a flash drive is best

All I can say is that I've had flash drives fail because they've reached their max # of writes. And they were only a couple of years old and not used that much. I've never had a SD card fail (although I'm sure that happens also), so I'm using a 64 Gb microSD card with this reader...

TeslaCam - How big of a flash drive is best

I had a spare 64GB micro SD card hanging around so I thought I could use it for the teslacam. I used a third party app to format the entire 64GB as FAT32, but it's didn't work at all with the Tesla. From what I remember, the Tesla did recognize the drive but I could never get it to record on the...

TeslaCam - How big of a flash drive is best

I have had the same thing happen. These drives have a limited number of write cycles and once that number has been reached, they are pretty much useless except they will hold the data that was on the drive but it cannot be written to.

New DIY Rubber Rim Bumpers: inexpensive but superior protection for your rims

I bought and installed Rimblades. They last 1 1/2 years and then one came off while I was driving around 70 mph. It banged around the wheel well for 30 seconds or so and then fell off.

    Firmware 7.0 - For Classic Model S

I'm not saying we need the toy car display or that I'd rely on the rear brake lights, although it's an interesting distraction. I'm just saying that it should be able to be seen by all color cars, not just non-MC Red cars.
  31. H

    Firmware 7.0 - For Classic Model S

Just a quick question. Everyone is talking about brake light activation. Are you seeing the brake lights come on in the toy car display? I ask because my toy car display NEVER shows my brake lights coming on. It does show headlights on, but never brake lights. I wonder if it's because I don't...

Internet Radio playing while car is updating firmware

Very strange. I got notice this afternoon I had a firmware update waiting to install. When I got home I told it to Install Now. When I went out to the garage a few minutes later to do something, the radio was playing and the dc charging ports were live. But the screens were both blank and...

Firmware 6.2 - Navigation for non tech package?

I received .253 a few days ago. I don't know why I even bother looking at updates anymore. Without the tech package, nothing they do affects my car to any extent. Tesla should allow us to upgrade to NAV at a fair price to both parties.
  37. H

    Firmware 6.2

Yes, I got it last night as well on my old S85 w/o the tech package. Since I don't have navigation, most of these new features don't do anything for my vehicle. However, I haven't had a chance to see if it adds anything. Will check later.

XPel, Opticoat etc. alternative for cheapos

It seems you have your blinders on, but consider runaway shopping carts, tight parking spaces etc. There are lots of ways to get slight dents. Xpel might not protect against more serious dents, but it sure as heck can protect against a very expensive paint job.

Firmware 6.2 - Navigation for non tech package?

Range assurance on a non-tech car? Well yes, the release notes say we have it. But distances to chargers without turn-by-turn navigation are as the crow flies. The car has no idea of your route to the Chargers. Until Elon converts our non-techs into aero cars, IMHO range assurance on non-techs...
