Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I believe this is the smoking gun proof of why Batterygate caps are implemented everyone has been looking for. This is 92% SOC on a car showing 100% 4.2v strings. If this battery was charged to 100% and left parked for a week or two, these cells would heat up and eventually cause a fire. I...

How big is it? Low production runs at high price are where 3D printing makes a difference.

    Yellow Dashed Line

They tell me it's not a warranty problem because the range is fine. They don't really have a prepared statement for failed batteries that are power related, but they just won't fix my car. They admit it's a dead battery, and then they tell me it's fine and I just shouldn't have bought Performance.

Power limited only at 80+ mph

Tesla knew better - https://www.tesla.com/blog/bit-about-batteries is from 2006. They knew charging to 4.2v was bad and are capping under 4.2v now. It's too bad they won't warranty the batteries they sold with 4.2v specifications.

@lightningltd Pre AP cars get Chill mode, they just removed the Accel selector after adding it in 9.1. It's not enabled by itself but they enable it when using Speed Limit Mode. here's my hacked pre-AP car when I enable the AP display and Speed Limit Mode - it changed to say "C H I L L" at...

    Yellow Dashed Line

Power limited only at 80+ mph I've had this for years. It started out only at high speed but now it is all of the time and limits me more than 100 kW. In my case, it is a battery module that failed, probably due to a coolant pump that had failed tesla wasn't able to identify (it didn't...

Power limited only at 80+ mph

I've had this for years and it steadily gets worse over time. It used to only be at higher speeds, now it is under any hard acceleration and limits power as much as 120 horsepower. With root I was able to see it's a problem in battery BMB module #9 running at least 30% under the rest of the...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Thank you. I researched this. BMB Module #9 is the front module, and appears to be the "exit" node. It's probably t he one that is exposed to the most battery heat. especially if there is an undetected pump failure causing every module to heat up the others "downstream" more and more...

You're telling me Tesla was aware of my pump failures 2 years ago and falsified dozens of service reports? Why? Why admit to it now and lie to me again telling me they are unable to detect failures without tearing the pack apart and physically inspecting the pump?

I don't have batterygate, but I have a power limiting problem caused by a damaged battery module I'm trying to make Tesla repair right now. Tesla told me I had a failed coolant pump in my pack, but they only found out about it after they disassembled the battery. Failed cooling pumps don't...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

CAN means it's intentional data in your car, it's the network that the car uses to communicate between its pieces. CAN is how AP steers the car, for example, by sending steering input control data to the steering motor. Everything is CAN. If they think it's a CAN issue it means something in...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

I should add Tesla replaced 3 coolant pumps with newer revisions in my battery during the same visit they told me the pack was failing so they probably think it can be kept alive a little longer to survive the warranty period too. One had just been replaced over the same issue, it was 100%...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Mine started out only being there at higher speeds with speed but now it's every drive. I think it might be temperature related, it gets bigger when the battery is warm and smaller with slower driving but it's steadily gotten worse - just not as fast as yours. The actual problem isn't just...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

I've had this for more than a year but not to 0kW yet - Power limited only at 80+ mph Tesla finally told me it was a failing battery but since it still retains capacity they won't repair it. I'm down about 100 horsepower right now and my P85 doesn't feel like as much of a Performance car any...

Tesla will also cover any accidental problem you cause if you sign up as a tesla security researcher by emailing your VIN and research focus (infotainment, AP, etc) to [email protected] - see Product Security | Tesla - they have an official program for owners rooting their Teslas.

Root doesn't void warranty, it's the same as jailbreaking your phone and fully reversible - you can do it temporarily or just ask the service center to enable dev mode on your car and check your car's settings in their presence. No modification is ever made to battery systems, at most they...

CAC is always calculated by your car. You see it in my photo I posted and all I did there was open the door, enable dev mode, and take the picture. It took 3 minutes at most and I didn't know CAC would be shown so I didn't calculate it. @jaitch Dev mode either needs your service center or...

If someone with the limit has root, can you check Developer Mode under the Data tabs BMS section? Look at the "Software full pack energy" and compare it to the "nominal full pack energy." Also look for the "Soft pack energy limit" and "UI Energy limit" lines to see if these are reduced to less...

Power limited only at 80+ mph

I had to create a new account because I can't reset my old password, but I'm OP. Tesla replaced my drive unit and I still have the limiting so it's sounding like a battery failure now. I have root and switched the display to AP so it shows the limiting with a more obvious yellow exclamation...
