Update: Tesla called on christmas Eve....replacement battery located (in California). New quote being devised, but in light of recent Musk Announcement for the Roadster 3 I have asked for a date & cost for the new battery. I'll keep you posted on the response.

Update on total power failure... there's 11 sheets of battery in the power pack and our number 8 has a fault. this has pulled down all the sheets. car is with tesla and it seems repairing the dodgy sheet is not practiced in the uk. They prefer to replace the whole battery pack...however tesla...

Thanks for answer... The cac was good. The battery had been well respected and looked after. I was wondering...if these batteries are no longer available new, why not replace the entire ess with a more modern battery .. perhaps a lithium phosphate battery. would the PEM recognise it?
