Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
It's all about production. Model 3/Y are the bread and butter for Tesla - just look at Q1 numbers. I predict that the new version of Model Y out of Texas will get a structural battery pack using 4680 batteries. Watch what happens to sales numbers then!!
And to reply to the previous post - going to Jasper from Edmonton (or Calgary) is a challenge. It can't be done using superchargers. And relying on destination chargers is risky. Just another part of Canada that will "be coming soon". Also the southern route from B.C. to Alberta (using Hwy #3)...
Just heading out in the morning - Peterborough to Calgary. Just saw the note about the Whistler supercharger (which will come later in our trip). Anything of note between Ontario and Alberta?
Lansdowne Place Mall is technically on Lansdowne St. W - and this s/c is in the 'mall' parking lot - so we have a new V3 supercharger in Peterborough. Yeah, progress!
Went by this morning. The worksite is cleared except for a Johnny on the Spot and the fence around the worksite. Only thing I see that needs to be done is sweeping and perhaps painting lines for the parking stalls
I have a 2019 Model 3. The Peterborough superchargers solve all my charging problems. My home charging is only 4 kw/hr and that is good enough for most days. But when I have back to back long trips (e.g. Ptb-Toronto) on consecutive days I can top up before I head home. Thanks Tesla.
Decided against going through Glacier National Park. Took #15 south and stopped at Great Falls. Stayed overnight at Springhill Suites - they have a Tesla charger. Worked great and the hotel was above expectations. On to Butte, MT the next morning then all the way across the U.S. back to Toronto...
I had an electrician install a transformer at my dedicated parking spot. Tesla says it is the adapter but this makes no sense to me. I am waiting for a 'new' adapter. We'll see ...
Currently on a long road trip - Toronto to Calgary (via US - of course). Anybody every take the route - Missoula, MT to Fort MacLeod,AB. It is 412 km between superchargers up and down mountain roads. Needless to say, a little nervous about that leg of the journey.
As a sub-note, anyone have up...
Definitely agree with your point. Currently on a 10,000 km road trip. Took 2 days just to lay out a ‘feasible’ route (trying to navigate Toronto to Calgary and back)
The post was made “tongue in cheek” Go Tesla. Also, I was humbled a little today when I met a fellow Canuck that has bee driving a Tesla in Canada since 2013. I believe the original Tesla cable issued with every new car was 75 km long.
New to the club but I just had to toss in my ‘two cents worth’. If ‘autopilot’ on city streets is introduced in 2019 is introduced before the end of the year (as originally promised) Tesla will get lots of front page headlines. And not for the right reasons.
Just watched a commercial by Petro Canada that indicates you can now drive coast to coast in Canada using their EV charging network. Come on Elon ... keep up.
What were all those photos I saw months ago of charging stations going in at the Water Tower in SSM? They sure looked like Tesla superchargers. Red and everything.
A better choice seems to be the Blacktail Mountain Ski Area @ Lakeside, Montana which has 3 Tesla connectors. My only concern is that since it is not a Tesla Supercharger - is it reliable?
That is the route I am taking to get to Calgary.
I didn't feel like retracing my steps, unnecessarily, for the return leg. Hence, my choice to go Calgary - Fort MacLeod - Missoula. Just some concerns about the FM - Missoula leg.
And, yes I have planned my route using ABRP.
Leaving on September 23rd. The trip is actually to visit friends in Seattle, son in Calgary and then back. Would love to make the trip back in Canada but it is still not 'practical'. So the most logical route back from Calgary is south to Fort MacLeod then on to Missoula, MT. Just have some...
I am also planning a long road trip - just over 10,000 km (Toronto to Calgary and back - via Seattle). I have a quick question - anybody tried the drive from Ft MacLeod, AB to Missoula, MT. It clocks in at 412 km. Not sure in my LR - AWD Model 3 can make this 'leg' on one charge.
I have found that changing from miles/kms to percentage takes away some of the 'worry' - 90% is always 90%. As for the actual mileage, I never get as much as I imagined I was going to get,
Brkaus - suggestions appreciated. Unfortunately, the car is getting a wrap so I can't try out your idea until the weekend. I'll post and let you know. Also, how do you check if the adapter is faulty? Just got it from Tesla. I know the 110v is good - tested that one - so the rest of the cable is...
Just got my Model 3. I installed a 6-20 outlet at my condo parking spot. After waiting 2 weeks for the delivery of the 6-20 adapter I plugged in and … it looked good for 2 minutes and then the dreaded message - Stopped Charging. The electrician says the outlet is OK. The car is OK - have been...
