Noise while driving on the freeway, 65-80 mph?

Tesla sends a cost estimate for every service request since they don't know if your request is covered under warranty or not until they see the car.

    Non random battery drain

No, still have not figured it out, the drain is random, some days 5%-6% other days 2%-3% or occasionally less than 1%. It could be ambient temperature dependent, it seems like the days were I get less drain are cooler days, however we are now getting into the high 80's and the drain is as...

    Non random battery drain

Another update, two days in a row I had 0% energy loss while parked at work for 9 hours. What changed? I changed my navigation destination to an address that I pass by before turning into my work address. This seems to end navigation and when I park the car, it goes to sleep and doesn't lose the...

    Non random battery drain

For me this is not a BMS issue and I'm in FL, it's not a cold weather issue, I do not get the 5% back later in the charge/discharge cycle, and depending on what I do when I arrive at work, the drain will change. For example, earlier this week, I parked the car when I got to work, then after 2...

    Non random battery drain

I've been experiencing a similar issue for the past several months. No drain at all when I'm parked at home, even over a 24 hour period. Each day when I go to work, I will see a 5%-6% "stand by" drain when parked in the parking lot. However, over the past 2 months, I have had at least two...

    Windshield replacement

I had the same experience with Safelite charging for "calibration" which I will give them some credit, they do hook up a laptop to the car but it's totally unnecessary but they refuse to let the car leave without calibration. They charge over $350 for the "calibration" and has been a point of...

    Mystery noise SC ‘couldn’t hear’…

Not much to go on, any idea if the noise is coming from your speakers? Inside the car? Outside the car? Wind noise? Have you tried driving with a passenger and asking them if they hear anything, windows up, windows down?

When to look in to lemon law

Discount tire doesn't do alignments, so they would not have checked anything. I'd suggest taking it to a shop that specializes in alignments. For the B-pillar rattle, it's the seatbelt adjuster, just look up on Youtube, you will find videos of how to add a bit of felt tape to fix it, it's very...

    Hertz rental PIREP (pilot report!)

That range estimate is related to the Wh/mi that the car has seen, it's not a good indication of capacity loss. I imagine a rental car is not driven nicely so the Wh/mi is probably really poor in comparison.

The good and the bad. I have just done 25,000 miles over the past two years in a Model 3.

Rented a (Volvo) Polestar 2 for a week, worst EV I've ever driven, could not wait to get back to my Tesla. I've driven a Lucid, Audi eTron, Kia EV5, Hyundai Ionic 5, Rivian R1T, Mustang Mach E, Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, BMW i4 and any one of those cars were better than the Polestar 2...

    Inexpensive DIY tire rotation.

I've been rotating tires using this method for 20 years, never had an issue, always have gotten even tire wear. There is no additional stress on the chassis than what the car would see on a rough road and the chassis of cars today are stiff enough to easily handle the front being raised enough...

Model 3 Performance Changed 20" OEM Wheels to 19" OEM Wheels - The Economics and the Pros & Cons

So, here is an update. I actually got close to 60,000 miles out of the OEM 20" Michelin PS4S, even though I had done lots of highway driving, I was still amazed the tires held up for so long. I guess I attribute the long life to frequent tire rotations, regularly checking air pressure and...

Model 3 Performance Changed 20" OEM Wheels to 19" OEM Wheels - The Economics and the Pros & Cons

For my 2019 TM3P, changing from OEM wheels with 20" Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires to 19" OEM wheels and Hankook Ventus S1 EVO 3 tires (same tire Tesla has been putting on the LR with 19" wheels from the factory) I'm still seeing no range improvement, my Wh/mi is about the same as before...

    22’ LR range - 1000km return trip…real world range.

Nearly every EV test I've seen a Tesla M3 still has greater range than the competition that costs the same or more, so to call it a scam when you have different tires than OEM and don't understand that highways speeds yield shorter range is not really an issue created by Tesla. When I bought my...

The good and the bad. I have just done 25,000 miles over the past two years in a Model 3.

55k miles in 3 years, still the best car I've owned. I have a M3P, ride and handling are excellent and on par with other sport sedans I've driven, wind noise is virtually non-existent in my car, I can listen at low volumes on the highway at 75 mph. I really think some vehicles need to be taken...

Autopilot nor Cruise will engage 50% or more of drives

So far so good, it's been a few days now since I installed the update and no more AP issues. Guess that's one thing with a car that is so software focused, any glitch in the software can cause things not to work. I've cancelled my service appointment so I don't waste my time with Tesla, 54,000...

    Performance cold weather range

I have an 80 mi commute from Daytona Beach to Melbourne, it’s 80 mi exactly each way, with 74 miles driving 76mph. I charge to 90%, arrive back home with 15%, this is tested repeatedly, however when it gets colder, say in the mid 30’s, I can arrive home with closer to 10% remaining. Your commute...

Autopilot nor Cruise will engage 50% or more of drives

So, even though AP worked fine on the way home yesterday, after charging last night AP didn’t work this morning on my way to work. This really does not seem like a hardware issue. I have a software update pending install, I will wait and see if that fixes my issues.

Autopilot nor Cruise will engage 50% or more of drives

After parking the car at work today, 9 hours later, I drive home with no issues, AP and TACC working just fine. I did go into the Service menu and checked under Notifications for error messages, the only thing I saw was "UI_a114 Driving visualization temporarily degraded, Features may be...

Welp finally happened to me…windshield stress crack

Please help me understand something, like in most every car manufactured today, the windshield is bonded to the frame using an adhesive, so how is it that stress cracking is a bigger problem with a Tesla than any other car manufactured using the same method of assembly? Does the car flex in...

Suggestions for towing 2 ebikes with model 3 LR

You would need to explain to me why you'd want to spend $900 on a Thule rack with lots of plastic bits when you could get a 1upUSA rack for 60% of that cost. The Thule rack you linked uses plastic straps and an arm that rubs on the bike frame, neither of these are a good way to hold a bike...

Suggestions for towing 2 ebikes with model 3 LR

If I were to transport bikes on my Model 3, in my opinion the only way to go is to install a hitch, either factory if you can get one or the Stealth hitch, and get a hitch mount bike rack like the one made by 1upusa.com (possibly the best, longest lasting bike rack made). I have the 1up rack...

Squeaky /creaky driver's seat issue identified

My driver's seat is a little creaky at times as well, usually when I first get in. Once I'm off and driving it doesn't seem to make much noise, mine seems to be coming from the plastic seat back but I will check the seat rail as well. Thanks for posting.

    Model 3 silicone wiper blades

This time around, rather than buying the inexpensive silicone refills like I had been doing, I splurged and bought the Bosh Aerotwin OEM replacement wipers from Amazon. Exactly the same as what came on the car, but with Bosch logo laser engraved on the end cap. Cost was $35, so not as...

Strange HVAC issue since windshield replacement

    UI Rant

I will add to this UI Rant thread. IMO V11 UI is terrible. Text is too small, only 4 configurable buttons and the options for those buttons are limited to things that are not needed for one touch access yet leaves out defrost and seat heaters that should be obvious choices. Tire Pressure and...

Tesla told me their Quaity control specs is protected information.

Yes, the QC specs are protected from any new owners asking how bad the car can be and still be "in spec", I really believe the Delivery Centers don't have any published specs.

    Poll on V11 interface

Thanks for doing that. Now just add back the icons at the top right for connectivity and Sentry Mode, add back the SuperCharger Locations on the right vertical box, then add the small box below the car that shows Wh/mi and trip info/Tire Pressure. Then I think most of us will quiet down about...

Model 3 Performance Changed 20" OEM Wheels to 19" OEM Wheels - The Economics and the Pros & Cons

Model 3 Performance Changed 20" OEM Wheels to 19" OEM Wheels - The Economics and the Pros & Cons

Rather than just shell out nearly $1,700 for a set of tires, I decided to look for other options. I put on around 20k-25k miles a year on my car and was looking at how much money I'd save in the long run, like over the next several years. As for lowering the car, the wheel gap is exactly the...

Model 3 Performance Changed 20" OEM Wheels to 19" OEM Wheels - The Economics and the Pros & Cons

After 40,000 miles on the original tires, I decided it was time to figure out if I wanted to spend $365 x 4 + tax + installation (~$1,662) for a set of 20" Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, or consider moving to a 19" wheel and cheaper tire. Sure, could have gone with a 20" Fallen Azenis FK510...

    Model 3P Tire Question

I have a 2019 Model 3 Performance with OEM 20" wheels and the original PS4S tires with 36k miles on the set. I might get 40k out of the tires but rather than spending $1,600 on another set of 20" PS4S tires, I purchased a set of used 2021 OEM 19" Tesla Sport Wheels, will be adding a set of...

    Model 3 silicone wiper blades

Tire Recommendation - Quietest all season?

Would be nice if owners would also comment on the efficiency of their new tires. With 2400 miles on a set you'd think that would be enough to know if the DWS 06 is more or less efficient than the OEM Pirellis.

    Model 3P Tire Question

Doesn't Tesla allow you to configure the wheels on the display? If so, then all the owner needs to do is change the wheel size to 19" and it should correct the speedometer automatically. That is assuming the 19" tire he has on his wheels matches up to the tire size Tesla puts on their OEM 19"...

    Model 3P Tire Question

Wheel choice is nice, totally understand you dropping down in rim size for those Chicago pot holes.
