sorry for this naive question. I downloaded the iphone app (Tesla Model S) and upon entering my email and password (for My Tesla), got the message that there is no car on record or not delivered yet. Does this change when VIN gets assigned or do I have a separate issue. Thanks.

When I talked to a Tesla rep yesterday, I was told that the production WILL start end of March and that the 85 kwh battery packs will go first, followed by 60 etc. He said I should expect my delivery by end April.

We have about 30 reds in your SS, assuming 10% reporting which is rule of thumb on TMC, all reds should fit into one week's production. But I doubt they will exclusively make reds so I would give it 2-3 wks for catchup.

I may have to call to confirm this (you are the second person to raise this, first being my wife!). I chose black interior.

I read somewhere that there are 10 paint stations so any one color will be 10% of cars or 40 per week. Assuming there is no priority for battery pack selection (40 kwh would also have started in Mar) strict sequence number will likely be followed. Assume 20% of reservations go for red and you...

I'm assuming plug-n-play with any battery pack but that may be too simplistic. Good point about mixups and hence the need to stick to one battery type each week. If so, they may have to go 60 for 3 wks and just one wk of 85 in the next two months to catch up. Of course, we do not know what...

Any guesses on the split between 85 kwh and 60 kwh starting Jan? If they do want to achieve parity, I would think 30/70 for may be 8 weeks. This will provide about 2000 cars with 60 kwh - not enough for parity but any more skewed ratio may hurt revenue....

Assuming sunset red and multi-coat red are the same..... I got Apr/May when I finalized last week. My seq is 5xxx and I first finalized in early Sep with black exterior and recently changed once red became an option.
