Warning!! 2021.4.6 - autosteer disengages without input!!

But earlier... Not really sure what to make of this? I could be wrong, but it sounds like OP isn't keen on facts getting in the way of a good whinge.

Warning!! 2021.4.6 - autosteer disengages without input!!

I would imagine this would be a significant issue if you took your hands off the wheel, but thankfully, you would have your hands on the wheel the whole time, along with paying full attention to the road as per the manual and messages that come up on the display when engaging autopilot.

Model S Refresh and Existing Orders

I would imagine they could simply cancel the order if one does not reconfigure?

    48.35.5

That being the case, don't set it to 1 second, you'll be in for a rude shock.
  5. F

    48.35.5

Set your following distance between yourself and the car in front to a couple of seconds, rather than 1. Helps reduce the phantom braking a lot.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

A lot of us have been waiting more than a while for FSD. What's another year or two lol!
  7. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Same here. My guess is that they will fix it at some stage once FSD Beta is released in USA as this will need to be handled prior to FSD release in AUS.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

As far as i know, it's always been on the right scroll wheel? It was previously also in the screen settings, but I thought it was always on the scroll wheel?

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

FYI, 2020.48.26 looks to be rolling out to Aus this morning.
  10. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Hopefully 2020.48.12.1 is not the 'big' update indicated by Tesla as it was pretty average in content for my 2019 SR+, just like all updates since this time last year.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yep, mine seems to reset the headlight position after each update as well. I started noticing when oncoming traffic would flash their highbeams at me and I thought something was up. Seems each time an update is applied, the driver side headlight adjust 'up' too far to the point where oncoming...

    Am I written off?

At a guess; yes, it's a possible write off. As mentioned above, if the battery has some external damage, then it's almost certainly a write off. Not saying it couldn't be resurrected, just saying insurance would likely just write it off and be done with it.

    Brisbane – After Sale Service?

I had a steering rack issue on my Model 3. Tesla Brisbane were easy to deal with, resolved the issue with little fuss and sent me on my way. Very happy with them.

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

Yes, as I said above, unless your car has the new heat pump and/or batteries, there's no software update to improve range. Notice how the update is only on the model Y? The model Y has the new heat pump, and possibly the new battery chemistry, hence the range unlock.
  16. F

Model 3 Australia - Massive Price Cut

It's the wheels, heat pump and slightly refined battery chemistry that achieved the additional range. Unless your car has the new heat pump and/or batteries, there's no software update to improve range.

How many electric vehicles could Australia's grid cope with?

I'm not so sure of that. It's feasible that Servo's would transition to providing DC fastchargers instead of pumping fuel. This way they can keep their most profitable product turning over (the food/drinks/snacks they peddle you whilst you are 'filling up'). In fact, due to it taking longer to...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

It wasn't an overly complex set of lights. The screen shot below was the set where the event happened. The arrow was red, but the round light was green. The car was halfway travelling straight through the intersection and decided the red arrow meant it had to stop in line with these lights.
  19. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

In this case, it wasn't about phantom braking based on perception that a car was in front. As I was being thrust forward into the steering wheel from the heavy braking, I briefly saw the red line across the screen as per when a red light was seen along with the 'stopping for red light' icon on...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I just became real un-excited with this update. Nearly ended up with a Hilux lodged firmly in the back seat of my SR+. We were cruising through a set of lights and the car mis-interpreted/confused a green 'straight' light with a red 'arrow' light to the right of it. It slammed the brakes on mid...

No, 2020.20.13 has the traffic light stopping. 2020.20.12 does not have it, just a GPS update and some other minor stuff.

Navigate on Autopilot On & Offramp Issues - M31at A9

The problem with off-ramps and NOA is related to the outdated navigation data in AUS ATM, not really in the software version of NOA itself. New roads, inaccurate existing road data etc all account for various problems with NOA not handling the hwy exits and transfer lanes properly. Of all the...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

12.11 incoming for me now. Very excited :)

    LOL!!!;!

August last year, white SR+ with FSD was $77.5K delivered, now $88.5K for the same car. Pretty decent jump in price for literally the same car.
  28. F

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Green would have looked in the code and saw the modules relating to the FSD driving visualization and called it how he saw it; my guess is that he just didn't see that little bit of code that facilitated for the region lock.

    Some autopilot issues

I also find a lot of the lane changes unnecessary when using NOA. I've been running it with 'speed based lane changes' turned off as this stops most of the unnecessary changes. It still picks the wrong lane (one lane to the right too far) for certain hwy exist (every time on the same exists)...

    Supercharger - Toowoomba, Qld

Tried to use these chargers yesterday; 2 of the 3 units I tried wouldn't charge? Unsure if my car was playing up, or the chargers themselves. I ended up using the charger on the left (when standing in front of the chargers with the golf club behind you) as the second and third from the right...

    Navigate On Autopilot in Australia

Went for a drive yesterday after updating to 2020.8. Was disappointed to find NOA non-functional between Riverview and Toowoomba in both directions.

When are we getting charged for mobile?

My SR+ currently has had free mobile data since I picked it up in December, but I'm confident this will eventually stop, it's just a matter of time. Obviously they have not completed the software/infrastructure needed to charge for it in AUS, but once they get on top of it, us SR+ owners will...

    Can order rear seat heaters

Yep, I did it. Honestly, $500 isn't that much and the kids will appreciate it during winter. I know the seat heaters are not really needed here in Aus, but neither is a ~$100K EV, yet here we all are.

Point noted and acknowledged. I haven't used the superchargers much as I only recently received my Model 3, but have used various other chargers that do have 2 leads and would allow dual charging; this is what i was referencing with my comments above. Thanks for setting me straight regarding...
  43. F

    Etiquette

That may be the case, but if all charging bays have at least 1 car connected to them, it's unreasonable to expect people to wait rather than connect to the second/spare charge lead. Same as when I fill my ICE car up at the servo; if I am the only one using the fuel pump, it fills my car quickly...

    Etiquette

If the stalls were intended to be used only 1 car at a time, there would only be 1 lead on each stall. I wouldn't hesitate to use the other lead in a heartbeat.

    Navigate On Autopilot in Australia

Update 2019.40.50.7 is still quite average for NOA exits off and on motorways for me. Looking forward to a new update as I have to take over about 50% of the time.

How good are Tesla’s in Australia’s extreme heat?

I've (somewhat) made some positive progress regarding the cabin temperature. By leaving it on recirculate and 'auto' mode, if I only adjust the target temperature only, this makes the cabin 'feel' temperature adjustable in some simpler sense ie: it's 34 degrees and the cars parked in the sun. I...

How good are Tesla’s in Australia’s extreme heat?

I'm finding the AC really inconsistent. I would expect if I set the temperature to 24 degrees, the cabin temperature would be maintained to 24 degrees, hence the terminology 'climate control'. It doesn't work that way with the Model 3. I'm constantly having to adjust the target temperature (I...
