    Supercharger - Castlegar, BC

That's funny...one would think that the 'final design' would have been done years ago. Drove from Alberta to Vancouver two weeks ago and found the Sun country highway charger in Castlegar to be invaluable. Only needed 3.5 hrs of charge after charging in Cranbrook to make it to Osoyoos...

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

Ummm. Who likes this interior refresh? Fine for the 3 and Y, but this higher end vehicle now seems to be moving down to a less 'integrated' look and feel. Cost saving measure, presumably, but a bad design move in my mind.

Elon Musk Becomes Richest Person in the World

I would think it less expensive and much less risky to spend time and effort in building something that either deflects or destroys meteors, if that's the main reason for reaching out to Mars. Why not make more of an effort to save what we've got here rather than try and terraform a planet...

    OMG that truck is fugly!

To me this design has military contracts written all over it. Stealth design, quiet, no major heat signature, bullet proof...not the things your average F150 purchaser needs.

    Acceleration Reduced.... new problem

Yup, me too. No squeal after my contactors were replaced...and that was over a year ago now.

Elon Musk is 'full of crap'

Think back to how long it took you to learn how to drive a car...getting a license was the affirmation. It takes a few hundred hours for the average person to really learn and be comfortable driving a car. It's not just about the distance to the next object or the speed it is going. Current...

Still waiting(5 mo) for replacement battery pack....

I wonder how many 'loaner' packs they have for these situations. I also wonder if there is an upward trend on pack failures and what it may be. Let's see, so far I've the following work done: All new door handles A completely new computer block (screen and all) A new drive train A refurbished...

Still waiting(5 mo) for replacement battery pack....

My battery pack started indicating fluctuating charge levels that were quite variable...so it was sent to Freemont last January...just got it back last week. Classic cars always get pushed to the back of the line...even the batteries are obsolete now.

    Western Canada Superchargers

Drove by on Monday (Oct 24th) and noted that there wasn't any pavement in yet, but workers seemingly surveying in lines supposedly in prep for paving.

    HOV OK Decal

Makes no sense to me why motorcycles are allowed on the north end of the Lions Gate bridge HOV ...they end up taking up a full length of a vehicle and they are gas powered. EV's should be allowed...someone needs to dig into this further...

    Western Canada Superchargers

I've found the same character going over many passes along the cordilleran range. Many times after charging the predicted destination range was around 25-30% and at some point through my route I'd get as low as 6% (in one instance), but surprisingly, the battery level works its back up to about...

    Western Canada Superchargers

True, and the speed limits are higher in the US. But like S'toon suggests, there's a huge area between Saskatchewan and Ontario that is devoid of superchargers. I too won't go on a long trip unless there are superchargers...

    Acceleration Reduced.... new problem

I may be wrong, but I suspect this issue may be part of the battery warranty? I can ask when they come pick it up tomorrow. Apparently it is a known issue. Not sure whether it's wear and tear or faulty parts.

    Acceleration Reduced.... new problem

This just happened to me today...same message. Just finished a 13,700km trip. Perhaps it is the high number of superchargers (hit about 60 on the trip) that has stressed the contactors.
  19. S

    Western Canada Superchargers

I hear ya. Just finished a monster drive from Vancouver to Washington DC and up into Ontario to visit family, and back, some 13,700kms. All through the US, because we are pretty much hooped between Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario. Tesla needs to connect Canada along the TransCanada.

    Poor old Essie towed again

My S is heading in to get a new drive unit (inverter/transmission/motor assembly). It started about a month ago with what seemed to be the magical appearance of an internal combustion engine. Interesting sound after such a long quite ride. Regen sounds like i'm gearing down with a stick...

    The Tesla dashboard design team

I would hazard a guess that Elon doesn't much like the dash either. I can imagine that they all spent days agonizing over how they can make some profit on an EV without some sort of design compromise. It's a problem when you state I can create a $35k EV ahead of actually doing it. Heck, a $5...

    Tesla Owners in British Columbia

Finally got my decal today. Still unsure as to whether we can access the HOV lanes leading up to the Lions Gate Bridge on the North Shore. I see they now allow motorcycles, when they didn't before.

Flood of inventory cars has replaced CPOs in Canada and US

I suspect the higher inventory is due to the lower C$. Some felt they could afford it...but when it finally came down to purchase, they backed off.

    Western Canada Superchargers

When it comes to the interior, especially the Okanagan, I think it is a classic 'build it, and they will come'. I suspect that once Merritt is supercharged, more Tesla's will make the trip to Kelowna. I recently drove down to Moab, UT then back through CA and the comfort of having those...

Elon's email: suggests Model X Founder Series options max out at at $25k

It's always good to incentivize those that could help boost sales. But, I'm wondering if there has been thought to a real plan for some benefit to those that got the company going. I'm talking about all those people that put orders in blindly back in 2009 after the first prototype was...

Unofficial BlackBerry 10 App - Model S for BlackBerry

Thanks to Marcus, BB10 users have had access to their car using his app. But BB10 users are now able to load the Android Tesla app. The Blackberry community forum has a very simple process for doing this. Finally! And it appears to work for all Android apps. I assume this is a streamlined...

    Western Canada Superchargers

I agree with everything said except for the part about IPPs. BC Hydro has done an amazing job in casually disseminating incorrect information about IPP power cost. I say amazing because of the way in which they are able to do this without seemingly affecting their 'partnership' relationship...

    Vancouver to Whistler Planning

    Langley BC, to Kamloops BC

I'd be interested in knowing your range loss/gain from the stretch from Coquihalla Lakes to Hope. My spidy senses tell me you'd show no range loss over the 50km hill. I'd also be interested in knowing how much you lost going up that hill.

Unofficial BlackBerry 10 App - Model S for BlackBerry

Marcus: Well done! A month ago I asked Tesla on two separate occasions whether they might provide an app for the BB10. Without even suggesting that they'd look at it, they flatly refused. I even emailed them the BB page that shows (supposedly) the ease of porting android apps to the BB10...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Yup. Apparently, mine was the first "85" badge in Canada. The other two that came up on that truck...a black one and a grey one didn't have the "85" on them, despite them being higher VINs. I think the black one was heading to Manitoba (#5303, I think)...grey one was off to Calgary. I'm a...

I paid (or will pay for it), but it turns out they didn't put it on after all. The other two cars that came with mine didn't have it either. I asked Mark about getting the full hood done and said the same to me...the guy that's doing the other two cars that arrived with mine will be applying...

Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

You won't fall through the cracks. It's your window of March/April that is still a few weeks away. I would hazard a guess that they will start building your car around the second week of March and have it to you by the end of the month. So, you'll hear from them in about two weeks requesting...

    BC EV incentive

I've been pouring over the budget and can't find a single mention of the LiveSmart BC Transportation Program. Maybe they kept their heads low! I'll keep digging though...I know they don't update the web sites right away...so short of calling them, it's an unknown.

Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

I'm still trying to figure out why some with higher reservation numbers are getting their VINs (and likely cars) earlier than lower reservation number holders...and if it is batching...who does it work. Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

I'm not so sure about that. I was P21 when I reserved in 2009, then by some act of magic I became P9 sometime in early 2012...likely a result of a re-sequencing process due to cancellations and upgrades to Signatures. Given all the nail-biting going on, you'd think they (Tesla) would provide...

Delivery Date Range for Canadian Production cars

I've checked that thing so much the pixels on my screen have gone black...it just has the View Design button.
