First multi-coat Red confirmation or delivery - who will it be?

Yup, just re-read the letter PenFed sent me - it's good for 90 days!

    Financing options

For me, a blank check was issued to me so there was no way for them to charge interest if the actual loan amount has yet to be determined. Here is the letter that came with my blank check:

    Financing options

I believe the rate is determined when PenFed received the check back from Tesla (i.e check is cashed), not when they cut the check. For me, PenFed sent me a blank check for me to fill out the amount (up to the loan limit), and interest rate is determined only after they received the check back...

First multi-coat Red confirmation or delivery - who will it be?

Having gone through PenFed myself, I can say that the rate is determined on the day when Tesla cashed the loan check. For example, if you have gotten an approval today with the rate of 1.49% but you didn't take delivery of the car until March, then PenFed will use the rate that is set for Mar as...

Anyone receive a 14-30 adapter yet?

I wish I had read your FAQ link earlier! These are valuable information - I probably would not have ordered the custom adapter if I had known earlier. If I'm not able to cancel the order, do you think there is still a risk if I set the throttle to 16A so that my car won't try to draw more than...

Anyone receive a 14-30 adapter yet?

Yes, I did and it'll get shipped out early next week. I told him to make it as short as possible since someone in the forum raised the concern that Tesla charger can detect if an extension cord is used and disable charging. Is this true? In any case, I'll report back once I get the adapter and...

Anyone receive a 14-30 adapter yet?

I called Conntek and they are willing to make me a custom adapter that has NEMA 14-50 female on one end and NEMA L14-20 male on the other end. It's probably cheaper to DIY (they are charging me $85) but I don't feel comfortable doing it. Hope it works!

Anyone receive a 14-30 adapter yet?

Good catch, Donauker! 'L' stands for twist lock type of receptacles and Tesla only provides non-locking type of adapters. Am I stuck? What's my alternate solution?

Anyone receive a 14-30 adapter yet?

Hi, I'm hoping someone from the forum can confirm this setup will work before placing orders for them. At my work, they are providing 14-20 240V outlets (twist-lock) for charging. I'm thinking of purchasing the 14-30 adapter from Tesla and then order this piece from a third-party: Will this...

Retractable Door Handles - Is It Practical?

One of my co-workers pointed out to me that if you look straight into the door handle when it is fully retracted, you can see into the gaps between the door handle and the car body. And you can actually see the wiring etc. Is this normal or is some rubber sealant missing? I'm just wondering if...

Big increase in PG&E E-9 rates (N. Cal.)

Thanks for posting the actual E9 rate. I am also in the process of switching over to E9a now that I have my MS. Do you happen to know the kWh quota for each tier? I understand it varies from region to region? But I can't imagine it being too much difference between Menlo Park and East Bay. I...

    California Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

Yes, the statement of "Please check back in the coming weeks" was just added today. The funds will run out in matter of weeks. I wonder what is holding up the process?

First 60kWH delivery notice or email - who will it be?

Divide $5 millions by $2500 (rebate per car), you'll get 2000. It appears that they burned more than $2 million in Dec alone.

First 60kWH delivery notice or email - who will it be?

For those in California, when I went to the DMV website to see how to go about applying for the $2500 EV rebate, I see this message: "Rebate eligibility of the 60 kWh battery Model S is in progress" This means that we cannot apply for this rebate at this time. Hopefully they'll have this setup...

Got a VIN this morning 3692 (P#2333) and signed all paper work. PenFed check is ready.

First 60kWH delivery notice or email - who will it be?

Race is on to see who will post the very first delivered 60kWH on this thread!

    Financing options

Checking the link, it appears that the rate is *only* good if you use their car buying service. Since Tesla is not a traditional car company, I am not sure if this will apply to Tesla purchases. Pls let us know what you found out.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Congrats! I'm glad 60 kWh is finally moving forward and it seems like Tesla is building them more or less in sequence order now. That's good.

How to finance with PenFed quickly without going insane

Make sure you don't apply too early. Once you applied online, PenFed will send you a blank check *even* if you didn't supply the VIN info. The catch is that the check in only valid for 90 days, which means that Tesla will need to cash it and then receive back by PenFed within 90 days of the...

First 60kWH delivery notice or email - who will it be?

Just checked with my DS this morning. Still no VIN yet but she said my delivery window of 1/17 - 1/31 still looks good. Keeping my fingers crossed...

When do you make the "second" down payment? pre-MVPA? final-MVPA?

Last Wednesday I filled in the online application until I reached the part asking me about Model/Make of the vehicle. Figuring I'll just finish the process once I get the VIN #, I exited their website. Then, today I received a blank check from PenFed ready for me to use. No pre or final MVPA was...

When do you make the "second" down payment? pre-MVPA? final-MVPA?

So it sounds like the only piece of information that PenFed needs to "finalize" the process is the VIN # now? If so, that will sure simplify our lives.

How to finance with PenFed quickly without going insane

So you never needed to send in a copy of your pre-MVPA to PenFed? Does the blank check have both of yours and Tesla's names on it? I don't quite understand what you meant by "rate locks when that check is presented". Presented to you or to Tesla?

New "Fiscal Cliff" bill seems to keep EV tax credit

Thanks for the clarification - I can sleep a bit better tonight. Out of curiosity, what is the allocated number for Tesla?

New "Fiscal Cliff" bill seems to keep EV tax credit

I found this article titled "Fiscal Cliff Deal Extends/Improves 12 Alt-Energy Credits", but I don't see it explicitly mentioning the extension of EV tax credit. Should I be worrying about it?

Photos of the Grey interior with matte Obeche

Thanks for the pics! I also configured the black exterior and grey+matte Obeche interior combination based on Tesla product specialist's personal recommendation. Seeing your pics ease my anxiety of how it'll turn out when I get my car in couple weeks.

How to finance with PenFed quickly without going insane

Hi gg_wants_a_tesla, Am I hearing correctly that Tesla already gave you a VIN even though yours is a 60kWh and not in production yet?

How to finance with PenFed quickly without going insane

If I'm not expecting the delivery until Feb 2013, should I go ahead and apply for the PenFed loan now? From what I heard from the other thread, they'll lock in the rate for 90 days? I just don't want their 1.5% rate to change when 2013 is here.

    Who has waited the longest?

Incredible! Tesla has my $5k deposit since Sept 2010 and I'm still waiting for my 60 kWh.

    60KWH roll-in - B5 theory: they won't do it til after Jan1

I have the same feeling and have been trying to hold it in for a while now... From Tesla's perspective, revenue is their top priority and 85 kWh provides that. But from customer's perspective, it sure seems like a typical bait-and-switch! I got lured in with a $49,000 advertised sticker but the...

    Latest "Finalize your order" date

Hmm, I just called Tesla to inquire about the Grey leather delay and they are not aware of it. So if anyone happen to see the "asetrisk" next to this option in the future, can you kindly take a screenshot of it? Thanks.

    Latest "Finalize your order" date

This is weird - I thought I have seen some recent deliveries with Grey leather from the other thread. If this is true, then I might need to change my leather color choice to avoid further delay on my delivery. I was expecting a Jan/Feb delivery based on George's communication on 60 kWh schedule...

Heated seats standard with price increase

Based on George's statement of: "After the price change, all vehicles will include 12-way adjustable, heated front seats as standard equipment at no charge." Does this imply that all Model S to be delivered in 2013 will have this feature? Or is it only applicable for people who are paying for...
