Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Hey thanks, actually I'm curious how Elon runs his not closely held projects. For closely held projects, it's clear he's super involved in directly leading the project and making design/engineering decisions and problem-solving. But how about all the other areas of the company?

Could Tesla and other EV's implement a flat towing mode?

Unfortunate. I had to buy a new ICE this week just to tow behind our RV.

What other tech stock to consider?

They changed how the report revenues due to a new reinsurance agreement starting mid-2020, so Q2 2020 and Q2 2021 revenues aren't comparable. You can see details in their Q2 2020 shareholder letter for details.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Probably the most valuable takeaway from the interview personally was the concept of "depth of passion". It matters the depth of passion people have for a product. And this is what TMC helped the most in the early days. I DM'ed a ton of people in 2012 asking for their early Model S ownership...

    Thank you Jerome

Jerome has played many crucial roles for Tesla over the years, and will be deeply missed. Best wishes to you, Jerome, with your next steps and I'm sure you'll crush it!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's read-only. The mods closed the thread to new replies, including mine, saying it was overlapping with this thread. I protested as hard as I could and explained how my thread was unique and added value to this forum but they disagreed. I eventually took it to the top and they said they...

slight correction, I said I thought my investment in LMND (at my cost basis of $54/share) could do a 100x in 10-20 years. ;)

Speculation: Gen4 will be a robotaxi for under $30k

Hey, nice meeting you. Yeah I definitely see Tesla’s focus on building their next gem platform which will be a $25k car but actually two different car programs, one for Europe and one for China. So they will be different designs and cars. They will become the bulk of the Robotaxi fleet...

    Talking with 50-100x TSLA investors...

The $100k minimum is rather arbitrary. It's more a criteria to filter out and try to find those who people significant assets into TSLA early on and held on until now. But I'm flexible. It could be less. Curious, are you holding on to all your shares purchased when it was $55?

    Talking with 50-100x TSLA investors...

Just wanted to put out a feeler out there. I'm interested in talking with people who've made 50-100x off of their TSLA investments of at least $100k beginning principal. I think it would be super helpful for many people to hear what these folks were thinking, what they're investment...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I love how Elon said MANY useful products. Since all forms of transportation (with exception of rockets) will go electric, then Tesla is likely to get into all major forms of transportation that have a sizable market. And then there's energy storage and generation. And then there's...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

$200-500 stock price is $1000-2500 pre-split, so it's definitely a much higher range that Tesla has seen in the past. I think some people are expecting Tesla to just skip the $1000-2000 price range since it stayed there for such a short time. I think that's possible, but I think it's possible...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe this has been discussed here before, but what exactly does being “benchmarked” to the S&P 500 mean? And will these “benchmarked” funds be under any obligation at all to buy any TSLA if TSLA is added to the S&P 500?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I made an offer like this to my parents back in May 2013. If they bought xxxx shares of TSLA and held for 5 years, then I would accept all losses, if any. All appreciation they would take. Let me tell you, lots of things happened during those 5 years and it wasn’t easy for them to keep all...

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

What do you think is the minimum # of cars Tesla would need to deliver in Q2 to have a chance at being profitable for that quarter?
  36. D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

    Just a note on this video, I made a mistake when calculating total delivery estimates for 2020: Q1 - 90k Q2 - 70k Q3 - 130k Q4 - 150k Should have said "around 440k" but said "around 500k". Am I too pessimistic or optimistic? What's your take?

Yep, countries like South Korea went big on masks. They encouraged mask wearing and the government went to great lengths to ensure production was increased to meet needs.

The coming Tesla cash cow and the short burn of the century

Thanks @Right_Said_Fred. Back in 2014, the TSLA 3.0 concept (Articles/megaposts by DaveT) helped me to see Tesla's potential of reaching their $150b market cap in 2020. I'm starting to formulate a TSLA 4.0 concept... and that is how autonomous driving will drive sentiment going forward for...

The coming Tesla cash cow and the short burn of the century

Exactly! The point about opex barely increasing with Tesla going from zero Model 3s to full production is something I think is still under-appreciated. Tesla is a lean operation with tremendous operating leverage. You can't compare Tesla's lean operation with other auto makers who are laden...

Providing skateboards to ALL the other companies (Chuck Jr.s idea)

Providing skateboards to ALL the other companies (Chuck Jr.s idea)

I completely agree with this. Making the skateboard along with the autonomous driving software is the vast majority of the car. Besides the skateboard and software, what's left? What would other auto makers really add? And then for maintenance, who maintains it? Who gives the OTA updates...
