    California waiting room Q4

Also just got a text about delivery (Dec 29); ordered on 24-Nov; white ext, back interior, no options. They're wanting us to take delivery at the factory even though we requested home delivery down in the Monterey area...

    California waiting room Q4

Well, I'm back to having a date range for delivery (I had a date range, then it switched to 3-6 weeks after order date, and now it's back to a date range). Est. delivery=Dec 18-31. No VIN still. LR, White/Black, ordered on 11/24.

    California waiting room Q4

Similar situation here. Ordered on 11/24 (White Model Y LR Black Interior), delivery estimate was (I think) 12/16-12/31, now I show "3-6 weeks from order placed date".

    2010 Roadster Sport for Sale

Are you going to be able to post any photos? Is the Roadster in San Diego (that’s the city on your profile)? Thanks!

    Tesla owner configurations begin

Got my invite. Reserved under my dad's account (Model S owner) on the 1st day (Palo Alto store) and live in the Bay Area. As tempting as it is, not sure I'm going to follow through though.

    Random referral code thank you!

I just got an email today saying that someone who I didn't know used my referral code to order a Tesla, and as long as they take delivery, we'll be able to get one of the Radio Flyers too. Fingers crossed this goes through as Tesla actually brought a fleet of these to our club's 4th of July...

    Private Model 3 Viewing

I can't believe the timing. Surprisingly, my dad got an invite, but of course, my brother is getting married on June 3rd. It's not at all important for the groom's father or the best man to attend the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner, right? Or Tesla, any chance we can bring ~70 guests? I promise...

Where is the California Supercharger build out?

Surprised to see that there aren't any plans to put in a supercharging station in King City to split the distance between Salinas and Atascadero. Selfishly, I also feel like there should be a supercharger on the North Shore of Tahoe. Getting out to Truckee is a bit of a pain, plus, during the...

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

I don't think there are many good spots along 280 on the Peninsula for a supercharging station. However, here are some potential locations: - De Anza College (or the shopping center across the street)--technically off 85, but close enough. - Foothill Crossing--the shopping center right off the...

California Tax Rebate ending for some...

Not sure if you ordered your S online, but Tesla has been noting that the California incentive was subject to some limitations for a while now.

Which will be first--Model Y or new Roadster?

My instincts would say Model Y, but Elon gave the same timetable for both during his most recent Twitterstorm--a 'few years' away. Can't get much more specific than that ;) My bet is Model Y goes into production in mid-2019; new Roadster by end of 2020 (at the earliest). Would love to be proven...

Hyundai announces IONIQ price in the US: $29,500 before incentive

I'm also curious to know if this 'Unlimited Subscription Model' is substantially different enough from a lease that the $2.5k CVRP would no longer apply, or is this really just a case of rebranding what a 'lease' is to try to attract Millennials.

    2016 Focus EV Lease-$0 drive-off; $120/mo

This is a shot in the dark, but if anyone is interested in picking up a pretty great lease deal on a 2016 Focus EV, PM me. I worked out a deal that was $0 drive-off and $120/mo+taxes at a dealer in NorCal (fair warning, you'd have to stop once to charge it on your way back to the SF Bay Area)...

U.K. Hyundai Ioniq Review includes EV

Just got this in my inbox...will be interesting to see if Tesla decides to match the lifetime battery warranty when the Model 3 hits the streets.

    Who's abandoned tesla is this?

I was just about to post this. I must say, I only recently started following the Truckee CHP on Twitter/Facebook, and between them and Caltrans District 3, as well as the volume of storms, it's been a very entertaining past few months.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

2008 Tesla Roadster VIN: 5YJRE11BX81000080 Mileage: 17,900 Price: $85,000 Green; for sale in SF Bay Area; hardtop. Seems overpriced (guessing their trying to assign a price premium for the early VIN).

Santa Clara Service Center -- Opened January 2017

Swung by yesterday on my run. It definitely doesn't seem quite fully-baked yet, but it'll be a great addition for the South Bay (and I'm particularly pleased given it's ~2.5 miles from my house). Anyway, a couple of things I noticed. First, their operating hours seem unusually short. Closed at...

    Model X: Clever Vanity Plates

Definitely stealing this idea from this thread--thanks @Citizen-T Anyway, saw this vanity plate on an X this afternoon and thought it was pretty clever; although, I'll admit, it took me way longer than it should've to figure out what it was saying. Feel free to post any other X-specific...

    Where to sell a Roadster?

Anxious to see what you end up listing it for. Green + tan is an awesome combo and I've been debating whether to really get a Model 3 or just go for the Roadster (I'd like to have a convertible in my stable...). Anyway, GLWS whenever you decide to list it.

EM on Twitter: 'I think we will probably stop at 100 kWh on battery size'

I don't know nearly enough about battery chemistry and supercharging, but would having two smaller batteries (e.g 2 60kWh for a total of 120) increase the supercharging time given the whole 'don't want to fill a glass too quickly at the top' metaphor?

    Inventory Vehicle Purchase - Warning

If this is truly the case, and Tesla is making adjustments to the discount amount based on the condition that the inventory car is in, then they should share whatever that condition categorization is on the site--especially if they aren't going to bring all inventory cars up to the same standard...

    2016 Monterey Car Week Reception

FYI--I swung by Peter Hay Hill during my run today. Tesla has everything set up and ready to go; a Model X, Model S, and a skateboard (I'm assuming a Model S one) in the tent, a Model X on display outside, and then a bunch of Teslas ready to go out for test drives (good mix of Xs and Ss)...

Part 2 reveal (post Q1 results CC)

Total speculation on my part, but I'd think that Tesla will probably make a decision on when to do the Part 2 reveal depending on how well the Bolt is received. The Bolt is supposed to start being delivered ~October this year. If Tesla gets any sense that some Model 3 reservation holders are...

    2016 Monterey Car Week Reception

The Concours Event Map does show the Tesla tent being on Peter Hay Hill again. Also, in case you're curious, Overfinch is a Range Rover customization company, and Grundy manages car insurance (I had to look those up since I didn't know who they were).

    2016 Monterey Car Week Reception

Just got the invite to the Monterey Car Week event at the Seaside service center. Interestingly enough, the subject line says it's a brunch, but it'll be from 4-6pm...quite late for a brunch ;)

Gigafactory July 29 event thread for posting attendees photos and reports

So, what test rides are going to happen (Model X?), or is it the weather that caused them to cancel? Hold on a second...were the test rides mentioned in the invite really in reference to their new robots?!

This Is The Model 3 Pre-Order Gift

I'm really proud of everyone on this thread, we've made it 40+ posts without anyone asking if the order in which folks are receiving their token of appreciation is an indication of where they're at in line ;) Also, I wonder if the people who reserved two Model 3s will get two sketches...

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Annoying is probably a bit of an overstatement, but they can get tedious if you have to stop multiple times in one day (in my opinion). However, you know from the get-go that they're going to happen, so you either accept it as part of the journey, or find alternative travel plans (ICE, plane, etc.).

Possible reservation number hint on My Tesla

If this indicator is what we're thinking it is, I definitely ended up with higher Reservation IDs than what I would've expected given when I reserved. I reserved at ~10:15am in the Palo Alto store (on El Camino) on 31-Mar. Reservation IDs are the following: 5008xx 5008xx+3 Granted, if I...

How would you prefer to pay for Supercharging?

Maybe they could do some sort of annual subscription service for those who don't want to pay for it all upfront, those who rarely take long-distance road trips (maybe once every three years), or those who want to hold out and see how the supercharger network gets filled in. They could structure...

    Luxe

I've used Luxe a few times in SF and the one aspect that I really appreciate is that I can drop my car off at one place and have it brought back to me at a completely different location. So, if I know I'm headed to a happy hour/dinner after work in a different part of the city, I drop my car off...

Discrepancy between test drive age online and in Tesla store

Granted, this was back quite a few years ago (Fall 2012), so their policy certainly could've changed, but the original Tesla store in Palo Alto let me test drive a Model S even though I was 22 years old at the time. Similar situation too (I was with my dad). Honestly, I'd try following up with...

What's your estimate for the price of a loaded Model 3...

Well, per Business Insider, 'JPMorgan analysts had noted that the $35,000 price tag, although Tesla's lowest ever, could still limit demand. That's because it's likely to be more expensive after options are added.' Apparently there's a chance that all the options will be free, or maybe the...

    No Key for Model 3?

Jaguar is offering an 'active key' on their new F-Pace that's supposedly waterproof. Here's a pointlessly stylized YouTube video demonstrating it. Personally, I think the Ford/Lincoln approach of having a keypad integrated into the driver's door is awesome, and I've been disappointed that more...

Harsh puinshment for early X ordering

Interestingly enough, this issue of the Dark Ash Wood decor becoming standard and the impact on price was brought up in this thread. Ultimately, Tesla agreed to change to the new lower pricing with the $500 change fee, which while I'm sure is not ideal from your point of view, saving $250 is...

    Edmunds has their Model X...

They just put up their 'Introduction' today. They got it with Ludicrous but didn't get the white seats (which is too bad; it would've been interesting to see how those would hold up).

How long was your wait in line? (I think we were at the slowest store..)

I went to the Palo Alto store (on El Camino NOT Stanford) and arrived around 7:45 or 8am. Based on what I heard, I was ~80th in line, and I was through the reservation process by ~10:20am. They had a pretty efficient set-up; I'd guess 10+ employees taking reservations on computers, iPads, etc.

    Motor Trend's Model X P90D(L) Review

Motor Trend just posted their review of the Model X P90D. Summary: Feels that the falcon wing doors, windshield, and monopost seats are all gimmicks. Likes the auto-opening driver's door, infotainment system, and autopilot. 0 to 60 in 3.2 is the quickest SUV they've ever tested. Full review...

Model 3 Reservation Numbers Appearing in My Tesla

Yeah, it looks like I spoke a bit too soon too. Both Model 3 reservations now show up in MyTesla (but no clear indicator which of the two is the 'priority' reservation for being a Model S owner).
