    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I pulled the froot lining out of the front of my car recently. It's pretty easy to do. There's an interesting sticker in there which states the battery capacity of my car a SR+.

FSD saved us from being crushed by a semi

Fantastic and incredible result! IMHO this shows that there still areas where autopilot can be improved. I definitely wouldn't be lingering in that spot alongside a semi and autopilot probably shouldn't be there as well. Another area where I find autopilot to be a bit disconcerting is that it...

Ever heard of the Latte Line in Sydney? It's a line which runs approximately from the airport through Parramatta which supposedly divides well off areas from less well off areas. Looking at the ChargeFox app it looks like ChargeFox has decided that the Latte Line should also divide people who...

Just wondering if anyone else has an issue where they are unable to raise the angle of their rear vision mirrors high enough. I'm not overly tall at 182 cms, I drive with the seat at it's lowest position but when I try to raise the mirrors they reach an end stop which is still quite a bit lower...

I must say I was a bit uncertain about the change. Until I saw the new red Model Y's with black trim. That was a tipping point and the result seems far better. I can't speak for how it would work with other colours.

Thanks. By far the hardest part is in taping out before spraying. As a spraying newbie I was mostly just careful not to spray too much. I did four coats, with about twenty minutes between each coat on a warm day, and there are no runs or drips. The finish is fine, about the same as the black...

This is how my car used to look.. And this is what it looks like now after spending the best part of a day spray painting the chrome trim around the windows and mirrors with plasti-dip.. Thoughts?

Hi Bomidi. Yes it was done in Sydney by Precision Automotive Detailing. The person's name is Mark - he has been doing this about 12 years, he did a great job. It cost $1000.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I had a feeling my cheap from the markets $10 floor mats would get me by until a set of reasonable and right hand drive floor mats came along and it appears they have. Today I ordered a set of Australian made RHD Model 3 floor mats for $99 including delivery from FitMyCar. The ones for the...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Did anyone else get blue triangular 'EV' stickers and a letter which, according to the NSW government, I am 'required' to stick onto my number plates to help first responders? Anyway I stuck them on and they look fine. It kind of gives the plates a vaguely European appearance. I wonder what...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm no motor reviewer but here goes... I'm comparing my SR+ to my previous car which is BMW 1 Series rear wheel drive. They are quite different, the Tesla is like a luxury saloon car with great acceleration and cornering ability. The BMW feels more like a hot hatch. In cornering ability I'd...

I suspect they would be running AI as well to work out good guys vs bad guys, reasonable or suspicious goings on and so on. For that you need to run gpu cores - lots of them - and this could easily use 100 - 200 watts of power.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Got version 10 no FSD SR+ this morning as well. I was just out for a drive (no wifi connected) and while parked thought I'd try a few things and everything works! Car-aoke, Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Tune-in radio, web browser etc. This is an enormous upgrade and I haven't even had the car...

Any Canberra drivers interested in a drive to Sydney for a Sydney Meetup?

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

This idea of a Sydney Meetup has failed to launch. What's wrong with us?! If Canberra with their four cars can organise a Meetup surely we can.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Yes it is three phase. It's set to 32 amps with a 40 amp breaker and 40 amp wires. The car charges at 16 amps on three phases which I understand is it's 11 kilowatt limit on AC.

I had my wall charger installed yesterday. The car charges at 80 kmh. The electrician said he is happy to share his details. So his name is John. His number is 0418 611 615. He is in North West Sydney. He charged $350 but the price may go up our down a bit as this was his first wall charger...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

The first time I've ever ridden in or driven an electric car was when I drove mine out of the delivery centre yesterday. What an incredible thing this is. Petrol driven cars, even Porsches, Ferraris and supercars have zero interest to me now. I would rather be in my Tesla.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I haven't checked it out properly except for a few minutes looking around and it looked better than perfect. With all the km's I put on it today if there's anything wrong with it I'll probably be in the hole.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I bought a set of, for the price surprisingly good, black floor mats from the markets for $10. They'll do for a little while while I figure which actual mats to get as well as if I need to get boot and froot mats.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

It has km's on my invoice as well. It's been said before but probably worth saying again - be careful. Email is not secure and it could happen that someone could send an email which looks like it is from Tesla but with funds transfer numbers which are not for Tesla. Probably unlikely but...

That's interesting. On my order agreement it says "The Total Price indicated on the Vehicle Configura-on is our es-mate of the drive away price of your vehicle. Lets start calling ice cars Burners

I guess you can take almost anything and turn it around and find a negative side to it. The term is not about shaming. It is a word which more than any other I've heard describes what gas and diesel burning cars do. The early ten or so votes on this thread were two thirds burner and one third...

Lets start calling ice cars Burners

For the past few weeks my son and I have been referring to ice cars as burners and it just seems to fit into any conversation better. Referring to a car as an ice car, or in plural ice cars, is somewhat awkward as it requires two words and, even though it is clever, sometimes requires...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

The most expensive car I've bought previously was a brand new Subaru WRX in 1999 for $45k. That worked out pretty well for a couple of years until I went and played tennis one night and never saw it again. Someone had stolen it from the car park.
