Long term(ish) Model 3 owners, how reliable has the car been to you?

Had my LR AWD a year next week, never a problem, early on I had one screen blank out while on the motorway - it rebooted itself in a few minutes. Since then nothing but pure joy.

    Summer storage in the Desert

I wonder if it would help to leave the AC on at 80-85, as it is plugged in? The problem I had one year after a 4 month enforced garaging was mould- but I doubt this would be an issue in desert conditions. The cooler temp may help possible warping of materials under extreme heat.

will the Drako GTE finally give Tesla performance a run for its money?

Well definitely NOT for the money!

    AP in Fog

All I can say is that I felt much safer letting the car drive - it could clearly see better than I , The highway was empty, I was alert and more relaxed. normal speeds are 130 to 150. When I am driving at the posted limit of 120 I am being either tailgated by a smart car or being overtaking by...

    AP in Fog

Yes I was worried , however the other traffic was non existent- New Years Eve 12:30pm Also Portuguese drivers are notorious for tailgating (sorry PT but you know it's true) So my main worry was being rear-ended, I was vigilant and ready to take action. The speed was Kilometers not mph.

    AP in Fog

Not in Portugal, I was more worried someone would rear end me. Also the highway was deserted.

    AP in Fog

Happy new year Tesla owners. We spent NYE in Lisbon this year. Drove home after midnight on the A8 north in the densest fog I have ever seen. Visibility was 6 to 10 meters max. Normally this would have me very stressed out visualizing the hidden highway. I turned on AP and the car tracked the...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.3 and .4 [nothing new in release notes In comparison to prior version]

After 2019.36.2.4 driving in middle lane empty three lane highway as I approached a large service truck that was in far right lane my car braked very rapidly and collision warning sound went off. Thank God no one was tailgating me. The service vehicle was towing a very large warning sign that...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

Got the upgrade last night in Lisbon Portugal. Definite seat of the pants boost in acceleration - very noticeable I have the 18 inch wheels. One pedal braking will take a day or two to get used too , especially backing up and going into garage. All in all a super upgrade THX Tesla

    PSA: CAREFUL--Autopilot sudden braking

Have to agree, I am now used to indicate changing lanes, even so my wife thinks something is wrong every time the car chimes in, the sound should be user adjustable. Also have had rapid phantom braking going entering underpasses I now hover over the accelerator when I see an underpass. Both...

    steering wheel adjustment fail

Not a big deal but annoying the wheel goes up and down and out but not in. The in button brings it out and the out button does not do anything. weird. Luckily if I reset it goes back to default setting, other wise I would br driving with the wheel in my chest!

How many bring your dog in the car?

My dog loves the dog mode here in Portugal .- I think a great update would be the option to change dog mode screen to reflect the country you are in. Just a thought I wonder if I change the system language it will reflect that in dog mode

Mercedes E Class to Model 3 - any impressions?

I had a 2011 E300 and gave it to my son before the M3 AWD. The E300 is a wonderful car, vault like construction and detailing. The way the doors close with authority. I had the adaptive seats which are fabulous - a feature i would love in the M3 However as an overall experience I would never go...

What’s the one thing you like the least about your Model 3?

The shiny black center console - hated it on my Mercedes and hate it on the Tesla. Luckily an easy fix with a PPF carbon fibre overlay.

    More paint issues

Bought mine two weeks ago, I have to admit the negative comments on fit and finish, wind noise etc almost made me back out. I am so glad I went ahead with the purchase. Fit and finish were perfect , great panel gaps and paintwork. Beautiful interior and not sure how they do this, but a smooth...

    Petition: AWD to P3-

I agree with that ultimately you would have to do brakes , tires, suspension to take full advantage on track, however I don't think the added power to the LR AWD would cause any problems to everyday drivers wanting more off line and overtaking power. As you said even the performance version...

    New Car Pick Up Portugal

Twin turbo was around 3.6 ( this was a 2004 version), however the Tesla feels quicker off the line , I have no doubt the Porsche would zoom past eventually- but from a stoplight I think the Tesla would be the winner.

    Petition: AWD to P3-

Agreed and to be honest if I had payed the extra 10 k for the full package it would not bother if an AWD owner paid 5k for the power upgrade. Lets face it 5k is a lot for a software patch
  31. davidada

    Petition: AWD to P3-

I think there is certainly profit in this as it is purely a software upgrade, cost to Tesla is Minimal. I think 5k is fair as this is probably the difference minus 20 inch alloys, performance brakes etc.

    New Car Pick Up Portugal

Hello all, I picked up my Tesla 3AWD LR at the Lisbon pick up yesterday. Quite busy 4 M3 s Two X100s and two S all being prepped and charged. A very fast hand over after a polite and brief rundown on the cars main points. It was very strange silently gliding out of the workshop onto the streets...
