Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Latest update finally fixed the autowipers which now work quite well. I've been complaining about it on here so thought I should report back that Tesla was listening and fixed the issue. Good job Tesla on that.
My autowipers don't wipe even when windshield completely saturated and Im blinded. I went to Contact Us. There is no way to actually contact Tesla. That is my issue.
For a company that want's to do everything online and has very spread out and overbooked service centers you would think they would have a way to chat or communicate online to resolve issues which don't need a service center. Well Ive been trying for an hour and I can't find any way to talk to...
Drove in to work today in a light drizzle. I would wait to see how long before autowipe would trigger. Each time it got to the point where viability was unsafe and I had to manually wipe. They never triggered the entire 20 minute trip. Not once.
And using the manual controls is not smooth...
I know about the button. The way my wipers are I have to hit it constantly. It's not an occasional issue. Mine seems to not wipe until you can't see at all and then there is still a delay. Very bad. And wiper control should not be on the screen. This is a dangerous design decision.
Exactly. When I say blind I mean blind. Still no wipe. How did they even release this?
And to switch speeds you have to take your eyes off the road and hit a very small button on the screen. Not safe at all. There should be a tactile control on the stem you can use by feel without taking...
Why post to say "erm mine work fine". That is why I acknowledged in my post that this is the case for some people.
It's not a personally taste issue. In heavy rain the wipers are only intermittently wiping. You CAN'T SEE ANYTHING! It's ridiculous and unusable. It's not a matter of fine...
They simply aren't sensitive enough. Even in heavy rain they only intermittently wipe leaving me blinded most of the time. While blinded I have to take my eyes off the road to turn it to manual. Not a safe situation.
I use manual all the time. I keep rechecking after each update to see if...
I keep hoping they will be better with each update but they are still unusable for me. Even in a fairly heavy rain they only wipe slowly or intermittently. They won't wipe right away even when the entire windshield is completely saturated with water and it is hard to see.
So I always have to...
Wiper controls should be manual and on the steering wheel like every car. Sometimes you get sudden road spray or a sudden downpour. If you can't rely on the autowipe mode then you need to be able to access the wipers quickly without looking away from the road. Can't do that in a Model 3...
I'm glad all of you have a functioning autowiper mode but mine is terrible. There shouldn't be such a dramatic difference. Everytime it rains I wait to see how long it takes to wipe. Usually it is too the point where I can barely see before it starts. Then it wipes intermittently waiting...
I can almost never use auto wipers. It seems under most conditions my visibility gets to borderline to outright dangerous before they activate. Even in a steady downpour they only wipe intermittently leaving intervals of near total blindness.
Adding to the danger is the fact that to change...
I'm glad you like it. A lot of people do. But I hate it. It makes the driving experience very unpleasant and I'm sure it pisses off other drivers around me with it's sometimes erratic behavior.
BTW what do you set your follow distance at? I have mine set at 4 as I heard that makes it's...
Here is the other issue. AP gets over hyped by the fan boys. I read up a lot before I purchased my car. My impression based on the enthusiasts was that AP was amazing. I purchased the FSD for $5000 so obviously I'm not biased against it. When I got my car and used it I was very disappointed...
This is what I mean by apologist. You seem to have an excuse or rationalization for everything AP does. If I was driving with another person and they drove like AP does I would think they were a terrible driver. Apparently I am not alone as many others on this forum say the same. Even my...
Is that really true? I'd like to see the data on that. Even if so it is likely biased data. People are likely much less likely to engage autopilot when traffic is crazy than when it is light and calm.
But as I said this isn't how other humans drive or are expected to drive. Almost no one abruptly slows when a car eases into their lane a good 3 car lengths ahead of them. The keep pace and may gradually back off so it is hardly noticeable. AP abruptly slows which is potentially dangerous...
Yes. I don't mean to knock the Model 3. I love the car and love driving it. Best car I've ever owned. Just hate AP. It drives like a nervous teenager the first time they drive on the highway. And I don't know if it is actually safer to use AP or not but it certainly doesn't feel safe to me.
With all due respect you are being a bit of an apologist. The term "phantom braking" means sudden and overly severe braking when there is not justifiable cause. Of course if someone was to cut me off and the car suddenly braked that would be a good thing. This is not what's happening. Some...
I stopped using autopilot entirely. Frankly it's dangerous. It drives so herky jerky, suddenly braking and then speeding up. When making an automatic lane change it signals and then waits forever to actually make the change. Cars around you have no idea what you are doing. The frequent...
