the Model 3 community needs more performance wheel options in 18".
If I could buy these or similar in 18" that fit a P3D+ i'd be all over it.
Kevin: maybe you could pass this feedback over to HRE?
too agressive. thats right off of a civic Si or similar.
would want the diffuser to be OEM+.
subtle and only noticeable to those looking for it. function over form. CFD tested.

Amen. I've been saying this over here:
Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3
I'd even be interested in the forged stuff for even lighter weight. Hell if someone made a carbon barrel or full carbon aero option i'd even spring for that.
yep, figured that one out quickly.
problem still stands, no aero wheel option for new Performance Model 3's. And, factory aero wheels are still pretty heavy at 21.6 lbs (Without Aero Cover), 23 lbs (With Aero Cover)
still wish someone made a forged lightweight 19 or 18 that fit over...
yeah i just figured that out reading up on it. so you don't have the large brakes, nor the stronger hubs.
problem still stands: Aero wheels dont fit on new model 3 performance cars.
sweet unicorn tho. If i could have ordered that I would have, then done my own brake and suspension...
yeah i'm gonna call bs on that one. first off the M3 performance has different hubs, and secondly there's no option on the ordering page to order them without the 20's. post up some pics of those Aero's covering your Performance calipers.
I'd happily be wrong here. Truly. I'd be...
what were your issues?
my white performance 3 had front bumper alignment issues. The dealer mentioned it was the 4th white car they had seen that week with the same front bumper alignment issue. (passenger side under the headlight pushed too far in)
I just took delivery of my Model 3 Performance at the Denver Littleton location in Denver and while on the lot I was astonished with the amount of 3's available on the lot. I was also shocked at how quickly my car was delivered. Ordered 5/27 delivered 6/10.
I'd be willing to bet that in the Tesla Corsa crowd you could find 10 guys who'd want those wheels given the advantage they'd provide.
and i'd be happy to see them in 18 or 19.
Not my job nor would I ever spend a second of my time doing that for you sir. Oh, and lets not forget the current Aero's DONT FIT on Performance Model 3's!
Good luck!
Actually I AM considering doing both mods, you asking yourself why I'm not considering those is a total assumption.
Yet, with those two mods, I am still looking for a wheel solution - one which is lighter, has better aero, and fits over performance brakes.
I'd spend on both. And a...
oh and lastly, Tesla is making this an option for the chinese market...
Tesla Model 3 Performance gets 19-inch "Power Sports" Aero Wheels in China
maybe we could get them here??
I hear ya.. 10/4.
I really like those, and while they look AWESOME, they only come in 21'', and have a listed weight of 34.5 lbs.. which weigh MORE than the factory 20's on the Performance 3.
Amazing design however, and hopefully we can get something like that which is fully...
Anyone here use additional moldings or seals ?
there are several videos on youtube about aftermarket door and roof window seals which have been shown to reduce road noise
Thanks for that.
from the post "1) We're using flow-forming (or rotary forging as some prefer) for the barrel construction as this dramatically reduces mass at the outer radius and gives you the biggest win on reducing inertia while keeping pricing in mere-mortal range."
so, still a flow...
how did you do that...?
their website states:
Q: The front seats on a Tesla have airbags embedded in the sides, Will the airbags be covered?
A: We do consider this situation, so we've specially designed for the Tesla airbag, reserve the front seat airbag deployment. But we didn't test it...
^ I was told my P3D+ would be delivered with the spoiler installed. The rep told me they are no longer doing separate appointments to install performance spoilers... (And i hope he's right!)
heck if someone made an ultralight weight forged 18'' or 19'' that accepted aero covers i'd buy those in a heartbeat. even if they had carbon barrels and cost a pretty penny!!
It seems there is a void yet to be filled:
I'm surprised @Tsportline and @UnpluggedP havent created yet what i'd call an ULTIMATE range or road trip wheel, a Forged 18" or 19" super lightweight wheel which then accepts aero covers - (or they make their own aero cover for) when you want aero...
