Good deal or bad deal? 2018 Model 3 LR AWD with FSD for $45000?

BC didn't have TM3 qualify for rebate until May 2019. They sold ~3000 cars a month for 4-5 months. That's ~15,000 TM3 that's that can be resell without rebate penalty from May 2020. 60% buyers are previously Accord, Civic, Camry owners whom keep their cars longer, so ~6000 potential TM3 will...

    Rim repair and repaint

I think a new rim is just $200 (not sure if USD or CAD). To repair a rim is like $150 CAD.

Good deal or bad deal? 2018 Model 3 LR AWD with FSD for $45000?

Just saw the ad too. It's a good price for sure. I expect more TM3 going on the market after the one year rebate resell restriction expires. Btw, I was driving by Marine Drive lot where Tesla hold their inventories before delivery and there's significantly less cars. Did they have less...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

People just won't buy them. It's just simple supply and demand curve. Using your example of $30k, on a 3 year car ownership cycle, that's ~$800 a month. Consumer will think "Is $800 a month worth it for me?" or "Do I put $800 into mortgage or other entertainment?" The math might be off/wrong...

That's why Tesla should've reserved the rebate ahead of time instead of at delivery.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe Musk knows they already made their 2nd quarter and decides to get those on the fence on buying a black Tesla to have a choice of white in 2 weeks. It both pushes a value added for the black M3 of $1000 and those who waited can choose white instead of black which is everywhere.

Yes! The Maxwell integration for next gen Tesla will make all existing Tesla old technology.

Are Canadians still getting Model 3s right now?

Taken one block south from Ontario St and SE Marine Dr. Cheap Model 3 doesn't have the same protection as with the Model X before delivery. They drive them off the lot one by one.

Delivered but not without issues with fit and paint

You just need to hire a QC that put a check mark on everything and problem solved. That’s how factories work. $$$ The thing is some people have a lower standard and have no experience at the good life of luxury cars. The delivery guy just need to sweet talk them to accept the car and move on...

Under what conditions would you refuse delivery?

Add on Insurance company will look at the depreciation of existing damage to potential pay less even if you are not at fault. Even a 5-10% on a $10000 bumper repair will be $500-$1000. You can fight it of course.
  25. S

Are these paint / chips issues acceptable for a new car?

No. If you accept pre-existing damage then insurance has the right to pay less for the same panel in a claim in which you are not at fault. It’s standard depreciation.

Buying a car feels like any other online shopping right? Just the amount is higher. "You don’t want to void your warranty, right?"...... really? I wonder how much more TSLA will drop if rejecting cars = voided warranty.

Does the following work? - Order 3-4 M3 - Arrival same day probably - Pick one out of the four that's in best condition - Reject delivery for the other 3

Under what conditions would you refuse delivery?

This happened to me yesterday at Tesla Vancouver. The attitude was "Take it or leave it, wait another 4 weeks and risk the EV rebate runs out" *with a smirk. They tried to buff it out unsuccessfully, the damage went through the paint into the bumper. Pics here Vancouver BC VIN .

One more thing, while I was waiting for the "reverse" process, Tesla offered the couple next to me the option to check the car under sun light. They will drive the car outside instead of the underground parking garage. If you didn't bring a flood light, definitely request that.

Yep I trust them when they told me “everything can be reversed”. It can, except whatever BCAA might charge to cancel insurance. Technically another lie. And because my brother referred me, we now have to argue to get 7500km SC bonus for both of us when the next M3 arrive. I am going to...

HW2.5 even after April 12th build date

Yes, this is a lie. I rejected delivery because the paint chip on the rear bumper cannot be buffed out. It's damaged through the paint. Vancouver delivery centre told me to just take it and go home. While they try their fix, I checked the software and then confirmed with the manager and...
  32. S

    Vancouver BC VIN .

I actually don’t mind HW2.5 as I expect to get FSD when it’s actually released and proven. But the paint chip is too noticeable and they can’t buff it out. It’s deep and requires to be repainted.
  33. S

    Vancouver BC VIN .

I’ve decided not to take delivery. BCAA said existing damage will be my responsibility. If I am rear ended, they have the right to pay less due to existing damage depreciation.
  34. S

    Vancouver BC VIN .

May 2019. They are buffing it out but it’s clearly not a damage that’s buffable. “take it or leave it” and they won’t cover fees to put back my plates on my stored car. The term “reverse everything” is used very loosely.
  35. S

    Vancouver BC VIN .

Then Tesla should admit this is a lie and I will be satisfied. They are also saying paint chip is part of the new car. It’s normal and should be expected.

What usb drive GB do you use for dash cam?

After some research, it seems 128GB is quite enough. I partitioned 30% (36GB) TeslaCam and 60% Music. My SanDisk UltraFit still have 2 years warranty so I won't have to worry it dying in few months.
