Don’t know what part of the country you live in but perhaps with an AWD car you don’t need winter/snow tires? I have a RWD Model S so I pop on winter tires each year.

While I have a RWD Tesla, I would agree that for an AWD in combo with the even weight distribution, you are good to go with “all season” tires!

I have no problem swapping my tires twice a year for my 2012 Model S (RWD)

A more effective way to "preheat" the battery pack in cold weather is to charge the battery. If you normally use "Standard" charging mode, switch to "Max Range" first thing in the morning (at a decreased amperage is fine as well) for about 10-20 minutes and that should do the trick.

I think Tesla customer service has been great (particular the "Ranger" service). Mat from Tesla drove 3 hours plus (one way) to our vacation home with a new UMC since mine had died; otherwise I would have been stranded 300+ miles away from home. Perhaps the Ranger customer service is better......

While on vacation for a week (in a warm tropical climate) I had dreams that my MS was being stolen! Still enjoyed my vacation however.

Anyone else have a glove compartment door that is broken? Mine will not stay closed for about a month now; I do not see anything that is broken off or missing so I am not sure what to do (other than stuff it so nothing falls out which seems to be working).

EZ Pass? I was just looking at the EZ Pass webpage in order to change the make/model of my car. And guess what? No Tesla!?!? There is the option of "Other" which seems really lame. Anyone else find Tesla as an option?

Thanks for the tip Doug_G. Warming (charging) the battery prior to driving makes a BIG difference in cold weather (with regards to regen and car is less sluggish). I charge overnight in Standard Mode but in the morning switch to Max at only 5A for about 10-20 minutes and that seems to work too.

Had no regen yesterday morning ("Regen Disabled" notice on console) at 17 degrees F. So today (13 degrees F) charged the car a little for about 20 minutes before leaving for work and regen works fine! Car also seemed less sluggish compared with yesterday. FYI I park the car overnight outside in...

Took delivery on Dec 30th. (Silver, 85kWh, Pano, Tech, Active Susp, Twin Chargers, 19" tires). Delivery specialist was great; no problems. Well worth the 3 1/2 year wait!!!

Someone mentioned using a car cover to help deal with the cold temperature and the Model S' response to it. Does anyone think that would actually help???

Any thoughts on the Model S's relatively new technology and the fact that this rear-wheel drive car has an unusually low center of gravity due to the battery pack? I doubt we know how well this car will handle in the snow until there are some more real-world experiences. So perhaps 19"...
