Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
It's a little late! I was there in November and had to drive to Crestview just to get charged. I'm not sure if and when I might return, but it sure would have been handy to have it while I was there.
Why do you think that? To me that seems to close to this one. They should put it close to the Casino so those going up North to Cantley can benefit (and then it wouldn't be really far for the Aylmer folks either).
You've done it again. Better you and not me. I wouldn't want this job of posting the distances. You seem to enjoy it. Good for you. I don't see the practicality of this location. I hope this isn't a Gatineau replacement.
This has got to be ranked as the top craziest supercharger installaton ever!! The stalls were torn down twice!!!! :O Damn. Nuts! Well...it's ready now.
UPDATE!! I was on the phone with Tesla while charging there as the highest I got was around 110kw to 120kw even though I only had about 70km of battery remaining. Tesla said even though this station appears on our navigation display and on the Tesla website in red as an active super charger...
So what is that? About 100km and then to about 350km for a 250km gain? At Perth, I gained 300km in about 19 minutes but I also hit the full 250kw. So that's fairly decent. I don't keep my dial in terms of battery percentage, so I take a guess when someone reports in those terms. I estimate...
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a silly joke because it makes no sense. For those who think the first month of V3's are slow, where has this happened? How come we haven't heard about that sort of thing? I don't buy it.
STILL SLOW!!! I preconditoned my battery and was down to 30km of range left. The highest I got was 111kw and then later it was at 72kw like an urban charger. The other model 3 charging there was getting even less, so much so the guy left because he couldn't bother anymore. I've reported this...
Well.....Perth DIDN'T. I was down below 100km remaining and it got exactly to 250kw. I phoned Tesla today to mention it, although I will try again in a few days and take my battery very low to perhaps somewhere around 60km of battery level left (which would probably be considered in the 10% to...
Well. It looks like a number of people have experienced what I did - that is, not getting a full capacity charge. If it shows up in the navigation now, it should charge to a full 250kw. When I had 87km remaining on my battery at Perth SC, it reached exactly 250kw when I started to charge.
I am hoping this is the testing stage and when it shows in the navigation system, it works to full capacity. I say this because when I charged last night, the highest I got was 130kw and then it slowed down like normal as it got full. I wonder if anyone else who charged experienced the same...
You make it seem like this is something exciting when it's hardly so. Coventry is not really part of this thread. Even so, you'll have to pay to use it (some of us don't pay), before paying you need to acquire a Chademo adapter for a few hundred dollars. After that, you're still only charging...
I think you meant to say it's "likely" it's the same crew. If you've been following, you know the Nepean crew plan to complete five undisclosed locations in western Ontario by the end of 2020. Kincardine would fit right in with this plan. Bancroft would not.
What's particularly brutal is this crew completely finished Ottawa, then presumably went all the way to Kincardine to start and finish that location, yet Kincardine opens first. Imagine if Collingwood opens before Nepean.
Stopped by September 17th around the vicinity of 4pm and no power. Any guesses as to when there'll be power? By Thanksgiving? By Halloween? By Christmas? By summer 2021? Never?
In response to one of my old posts, the crew was correct when they said this would be ready in a month from that time. It has been ready but what a shame this couldn't be activated by Labour Day! Why can't they get their act together and get this going?? It's sitting there ready to be turned...
Friday early morning check results in no power as well. I hadn't noticed the silver metal pegs. While they don't have them on the backside, the backside is also further from the stalls, so it should probably be okay. Unless it miraculously gets turned on later today, one would think it would...
I went last night in the middle of the night. I didn't notice any damage of any sort. However, if anyone wants to charge from the backside, you will likely have to park with you wheel on the line or even slightly over because even with the new V3 flexible hose, it's tricky for it to reach the...
Well....you're one for one so far as Kincardine has gone under construction. Assuming it's the same crew who claimed they'd be doing five more in the province this year, they still have four more to go. Collingwood, Orillia, Bancroft, and perhaps Orangeville would be ideal to be next if the...
I've made at least three timings westbound and while driving more than the speed limit and subtracting any time at lights, twice I got 2:50 which is the fastest I got there.
Thanks for the update. I did mention the 15 minute general parking in a previous post. I didn't expect the parking lines to line up. The ones in the back aren't meant for Tesla. It just so happens that you could technically park there and charge from six of the eight stalls. I imagine it...
I prefer leaving it on "kilometers" instead of battery percentage. Tesla should just show both. How do you know how far you can drive from battery percentage??
Good point. However, only six of the eight stalls have that option. The two closest to the transformer boxes are too far to reach and there's no parking spot on the other side of them. Also, the four stalls furthest away from the transformer boxes say "15 minute Tesla general charging". I...
There's an old Rona building with lots of parking spaces right near the Casino and they could put some there as another option to what you've suggested. If they go too far east off the 50, it won't help those going Northbound to Edelweiss and Wakefield nor for anyone going through Gatineau...
I spoke with Tesla yesterday on that matter and they told me the station was shut off again. Has anyone charged there yesterday? I would think if it's on the in car display, it must be working once and for all. I will check my in car display today.
Sunday, July 26th at 8:30pm. It looks like some repavement has been done and a section of approximately 10m x 20m needs to be repaved. Then they can remove the fence and flick on the switch.
