Enhanced autopilot (EAP) is upgrade to FSD

I noticed that after Elons twitter announcement of price drop to $3000usd for the EAP to FSD upgrade our Aussie dollar cost for the same is just $3200. Represents good value considering the exchange rate difference and about a $1050 saving pre-yesterday. Anyone else pulling the trigger on...

    Navigate On Autopilot in Australia

Not sure if it's helping train the neural network but whenever it wants to change lanes when I don't think it needs to I will cancel it as many times as I need to. Pretty annoying but I'm doing it under the assumption that it helps and that the neural net "views all input as error"

    Navigate On Autopilot in Australia

I think he is referring to needing to purchase FSD to have access to the NOA function as opposed to it being a hardware limitation. I'm on HW2.5 and have NOA

    Navigate On Autopilot in Australia

Just to clear this up, its $4250 to upgrade from EAP to FSD? You had to call up and speak to someone about this over the phone? I'm in a similar position and wondering if I should pull the trigger on this. Have they mentioned when the upgrade to HW3 might happen?

I'm assuming in these situations is better for you cancel the lane change so that the neural net can learn.

    100% charged display km

How are you getting 143 wh/km? Do you drive pretty conservatively? I generally get about 205wh/km but tried driving very gently last week to see how good my consumption could get and maybe only dipped into the low 150's.

    Abnormal consumption Model S P85D

How long have you owned it for? Reason I ask is because your right foot may still be a bit pedal happy if you're still quite new to it. I know I was.... Even so - I don't think I drive particularly conservatively either. I just love that instantaneous torque! I average about 205wh/km inner...

    Tesla Cybertruck in Australia

Doubtful there's going to be many others that will follow suit in regards to the design. Not until after it is released and if(when) it succeeds in capturing market share - it's only taken the legacy industry about 6 years to 'catchup' on the whole electric thing. The model y and more so the...

    Tesla Cybertruck in Australia

I would hazard a guess that they would score the underside of the skin similar to control joints used in concreting. I wish they gave us more details. Can't help but feel it was prematurely unveiled and used as a placeholder to get their foot in the door for that 'segment'.

So many questions: What's the drag coefficient? Wheelbase? Turning circle? Water wade depth? I just realised there's no side mirrors also but interior only shows the one central screen... I feel like it's a bit of a rush effort and not enough information given - like tell us more about those...

What's the likelihood we will see Speed Limit Sign recognition?

Just got back from a long drive on Country roads and I noted that almost every speed sign within about 2 seconds of passing the actual sign it would adjust the speed of autopilot up/down to the new speed limit! 2019 MS with 2019.32 update!

    NoA nearly here?

I think @conman may be right in that's its just a merging function but it is pretty cool when it does work but seems to be very limited areas at the moment. Without confirmation is pretty rad though! Does the US have lane changes/merging WITHOUT confirmation?

    NoA nearly here?

That's very promising for NoA. And to be honest I'm surprised it's without confirmation. Hopefully it's not going to be a process of manually adding the freeway interchanges one by one.

    FSD back at sale prices

Tesla hiking prices for "Full Self-Driving" by $1,000 for some owners. So apparently EAP to FSD upgrade is going to increase by $1000 on August 16. That would translate to roughly $5500 AUD....for basically nothing extra at this point in time nor the foreseeable future in Australia anyway

    Melbourne HPWC installation

I was asking about the UMC though... But from what I've read from searches it seems the UMC is OK to be used as long as neither of the ends is in a pool of water

Mainly because it will be almost a permanent outdoor fixture. Is the UMC weatherproof? Our powerpoint is indoors so I would just be feeding the cable through a hole in the wall.

    FSD back at sale prices

Not sure how many millions of lines of code it would be for a geo-fenced autonomous mining truck but it's definitely going to be substantially less than the 'modern luxury vehicle'. I'd guess it would be somewhere around the 10-20 million mark at a pure guess.

Where do you think Tesla's FSD will be 12 months from now (April 2020)?

FSD and Autonomy is where the future is headed. Just like EV's are eventually going to supercede ICE. Perhaps Tesla is doing the right thing by being the first to market for 'general' FSD. Imagine what Tesla's bank account will look like when FSD is released and half of the million plus...
