Labor and delivery costs add up for Tesla too. I don't think it is in their interest to give you the absolute bare minimum, as most batteries that have already degraded a good amount are not going to last. You should at least get a "decent" battery. I think the stories you are hearing are about...
I know when I was growing up, some Auto Insurance companies provided steep discounts if you completed a valid driving school. I would ask the insurance companies if they do anything like that. It may cost some money up front but you could save a lot over time. Mine was an assertive driving school.
Thread title is appropriate, "possible fix". I took my car in for service January to address the battery breathers and look into this service bulletin as my range at 100% had gone down a lot, I think to 286 miles. They ran diagnostics and said my battery is fine and concerns about a particular...
I wonder if after many years we'll get to a point where the value of the FSD package exceeds the vehicle by itself, and people just keep repairing the old cars to keep having a FSD vehicle :D
At $7K it's not a very good idea. I suppose it depends how much that amount of money means to you. For me, the $3K deal I got during the fire sale last year was right for me because I intend to keep my Model 3 for 8-10 years, as that is how I am with cars. And if I did need to sell the car, it...
How many miles do you drive per day? Better to keep it at 70-80% if you don't need the extra range most of the time. Your brake regen is slightly limited above 85% even in warm weather.
Technically, the closer to 50% you keep your battery, the healthier. But I wouldn't worry about that too...
I would definitely like having one that shows the speed, and efficiency graph much like the Model S. I haven't seen anything promising though, aside for what Hudway drive is supposedly going to deliver.
I've thought about having a go at it myself with a 7 inch touch screen case / Raspberry Pi...
This car is truly amazing as far as basic maintenance goes. And many Model 3 parts don't seem as badly priced as other luxury cars.
I would suggest bringing it in for some kind of service though (tire rotation?), as there are courtesy checks and service bulletins out that they proactively...
I want a heated steering wheel, air suspension and power lift trunk.
For those of us who bought the PUP (Premium Upgrade Package) as early reservation holders, this thread stings a bit though. Most specifically for me, I was disappointed not to get the dark Alcantara fabric in my car, and...
None specifically, I was kind of just looking at all different used car sites. I was pricing out my 2018 RWD + FSD to sell end of last month, but plans changed & I'm keeping it. My conclusion was to start at $45K. I imagine yours being AWD you should start 2-3K higher.
This may be an unpopular...
If I'm having the same issue you are, this seems to happen when the sun is in front of the car. Started happening for my commute when DST ended. I just so happen to both go to work and come home with the sun blinding me and the car.
Anyone know if there is any resource that tracks physical changes to the Model 3 by date/VIN? I know some people had identified VIN ranges for older seat types & alcantara head liners before. I'm guessing nothing substantial has changed in the past year besides including the FSD computer?
Hey everyone, I contacted Arndt Automotive, the group who was featured in 2018 for having send 3 US Tesla Model 3 to Germany to be used in a rental fleet. In my opinion, these guys have the most experience with this arduous process. The tl;dr here is, DO NOT take a US Tesla Model 3 to Germany...
I used it to try the new enhanced summon and it works, so it's legit as far as function. Whether they wrapped in some bad code, well I guess I like to take small chances.
Regenerative braking is limited because the battery can only recharge so fast when it's at a certain percentage. It's the same principal behind reduced charging speeds when plugged in / super charging.
Increasing the amount of battery headroom by only 2% wouldn't do much.
The real solution to...
It's not a bad idea. I was looking at used Model S just last week. What I can say is remember that Autopilot 1 became available in the later part of 2014. That affects prices. Also be sure to inquire about whether recalls were addressed. Older Model S had motor & battery pack issues. The MCU...
Man people love to point out what they think you should have done... Give the guy a break everyone lol.
I'm sorry about your car. I see how this could have happened with the visibility & panic. I backed my car into my wife's car when she went into labor late at night. Fortunately it was just a...
I think this needs to be reinforced. Too many people in this thread seem to just give up on the EV idea because the infrastructure isn't there. Try advocating for it first.
I also want to add, if you convince your business to add a charger, make sure it is not in a parking spot next to the...
The only thing that is known is many people have experienced the est. range drop since these updates at around the same time. We can only speculate what the recent updates have actually done since Tesla hasn't released any official remarks about it. I hope they elaborate how this is calculated...
Truth, when it comes, we are lucky to have it for sure!
FSD and the interface design are different teams of people, they aren't going to take the interface people & put them on FSD development. These are completely different forms of software development.
Here's my perspective as a software...
Yeah thanks I already said they are a budget tire. Good point on the load rating though.
These Federal SS have load index of 94 = 1477 lbs per tire.
Stock MXM4 have load index of 98, = 1653 lbs per tire.
I don't intend to haul or tow thousands of pounds of stuff, so I considered this close...
I recently purchased:
Federal SS-595 235/45R18 94W BSW
Very affordable "performance" tire. Clearly not the greatest tires in the world, but a great value. A lot of people buy them for track use because of their price & wear rate. I also have SS-595 on my wife's car and I liked them, so thats...
I'm definitely with you as far as priorities go, I think most people would prefer a camera footage review feature over "easter eggs" and arcade games. Do you know if Elon Musk / Tesla has even confirmed development towards this, or even acknowledged anyone who brought it up?
I've encountered...
I'm at 22K Miles. Having new tires installed tomorrow because they all failed inspection. I did a rotation at 14K Miles. LR RWD.
My problem is due to over inflation. My conclusion from reading about this over time is the tires wear prematurely in the middle when at the stock PSI. If your...
Bite my tongue, you know, the more I read the more discouraged I become about attempting this. It really just sounds like Tesla doesn't want people doing this. I'd be worried that nothing would work in it. Maybe I just won't get a car for a while there, lol.
I'll probably be at 40-50K miles by the time I would consider moving, so I would only have that drive unit / battery warranty. It is unlikely anything would happen, these cars are built to withstand may more miles then the warranty accounts for. If something did happen, I suppose I lost that...
Any chance you can link this product?
Contrary to what some are saying, I think it may be far cheaper to import my Model 3 to Germany then to purchase a one (even used) there. If you lived in the US for 12 months prior, you don't have to pay VAT or Duty on a car you bring with you. That saves...
This is the response I received from a customer support rep:
"From my understanding, this is a known firmware bug that our engineers are actively working to fix. It is stated that we will have a fix for this in a future firmware release but it has not been targeted yet. I have added your vin to...
Hi srs5694, this is crashfun from the xda thread.
I just put in an email to [email protected]
I urge others to do the same. Maybe if we flood them with requests, they will take this seriously.
