How to tell if my Model 3 was made in the tent

Due to the historic over-shorting of Tesla stock, there is an intense need for bad news about the company and its products. Bashing the tent is one of the only avenues to create bad news as the product reviews, demand, and production performance have been really good. Follow the money on this...

Talk me into or out of Model 3 Purchase (mostly range anxiety)

I think you're safe in the assumption that you can make it 125 miles. AAA did a study where they evaluated a mix of cars across many manufacturers and found that the drivetrain will reduce capacity by 12% without cabin heaters. When cabin heaters are used the range could drop 40%. Doing some...

    Solar Powered Tesla Model 3?!

OK, we're very far from perfect, but it's worth looking at what could be possible... Theoretical maximum you could ever get would be something like: 100% solar --> electricity conversion= 1kW/ m^2. Surface area of a typical car you could get 5m^2 (assuming covering all body, windows, etc.)...

How Can I Politely Decline Speaking To Strangers About My Car?

Your options might be limited in what you can do politely, but recognize the power you have as others form an initial opinion. It's not necessarily fair to someone who doesn't want the attention, but very powerful nonetheless.

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

Leased Chevy Volt. Actually a really cool car with useful battery range (50 miles). I only filled it up with gas around 5X, and it had a tiny tank. I leased it as a bridge until BEV's became mass market, and I'm glad to say that day is here!

Is the current NoA helpful or harmful?

It's all about context. Does it require intervention now and then? Yes, Absolutely. Does it make my commute in traffic safer because it is more attentive than me? Yes, Absolutely. I'm in this to watch the improvement over time, and experience this once-in-a-lifetime transition to automated...

How many EAP owners would pay for the 3.0 FSD computer at what price?

HW3 will become more useful once it becomes the majority of installs. As an owner of a HW3 equipped car, it is actually less beneficial than HW2.5 because they are disabling features (presumable due to inability to get the same number of test miles as HW 2.5 and earlier). An example of this is...

New Build Date (January 2019+) Owners - Quality Impressions? Positives?

I received my M3LR AWD in Mid-April. Zero defects as far as I can tell. Panel gaps all look good to me. It's been a great car in the short time I've had it.

M3 with a broken mic turns out to be a HW3 issue

Got my M3LR mid April, so I assume if has HW3. So far no issues, but navigate on autopilot does not allow no confirmation lane changes. I believe that's a limitation of having HW3.
